I’ve been earning six figures a year through affiliate marketing and blogging since 2021, and I want to help other people who are just starting to make more money with their affiliate programs.
What Are The Best Ways To Promote Affiliate Links?
Promoting affiliate links can seem overwhelming as you are just starting, but this blog post will teach you how affiliate marketers make money online.
Promoting your affiliate links can be a great way to generate passive income and become successful as an affiliate marketer.
In this post, I’ll show you the most effective strategies affiliate marketers use to promote their links, including social media platforms, blogging, email campaigns, and influencer marketing.
Plus, I’ll give you tips on how to maximize each one for maximum results! With these strategies in hand, generating more leads and sales is well within reach.
Start Blogging
Starting a blog is one of the best ways to earn affiliate revenue and create content to promote your affiliate links. An effective blog post should be interesting, well-written, and informative.
It should also contain keywords related to the topics you are promoting for your content to rank higher on search engine results pages.
The great thing about blogging is that you can create content for different keywords. Some of my best product reviews and round-ups rank for affiliate terms.
Once you start ranking, you can add affiliate links to best-performing articles.
Place Affiliate Banners And Product Boxes
As you write blog content for search engines, it’s essential to try and capture more clicks and conversions. The best way to do this is by placing affiliate banners and product boxes that convert into your articles.
For example, I will add contextual links to the best affiliate products above the fold on all my product reviews and listicle blog posts.
This way, readers will see the product and be able to click on the affiliate link right away.
Many WordPress affiliate plugins can achieve what you are looking for, such as Lasso WP. This affiliate marketing tool makes promoting affiliate links easier and looks great on any affiliate website.
All you need to do is add the affiliate link to your blogging tool of choice and embed them on your website or any old blog articles that you have.
Exit Intent Pop-ups
Exit intent pop-ups are a great way to help boost conversions and sales for your affiliate product.
By displaying a pop-up when users are about to leave your website, you can grab their attention and allow them to click on the link or take action before they exit.
This strategy works exceptionally well with organic traffic, as it can increase how many conversions you get from the existing user base.
To achieve this, I use thrive suite and thrive leads, allowing me to create pop-ups that also show how many clicks or impressions I get.
This is great for any affiliate promotions you are running, as you will know how well it is performing.
Run PPC Ads
Running PPC Ads or paid ads can effectively boost your affiliate marketing efforts and drive more traffic to your landing page.
To make the most of your ad budget and maximize potential conversions, creating the perfect affiliate landing page is essential.
From targeting relevant customers via keyword research to using analytics tools to measure performance, these strategies can help you get the most out of your campaigns.
You must ensure you do not do direct linking from the ad placement. It would be best if you also used the right tracking tools to monitor your ad performance, so you can make necessary adjustments and optimize for better results.
And lastly, don’t forget to test different variables and experiment with other ad formats.
With the right approach, you can utilize high-income skills and take advantage of a profitable opportunity.
YouTube Content
Creating YouTube videos is an effective way to promote affiliate links since you include them as a pinned comment and in your YouTube description.
As you create YouTube Videos, you should plan to engage viewers and captivate their attention by solving a problem using the products you promote.
During the middle of your video content, you can inform your readers that you will place affiliate links in your YouTube descriptions so they know you are promoting a product.
Make sure to use keywords in the titles and descriptions of your videos, as this will help make them more searchable.
Also, adding a link to an affiliate marketing program at the top of your video descriptions is a way to drive visits and clicks.
Be sure to post regular social media updates for increased reach. Following these tips can maximize exposure for your affiliate links through YouTube content and make money.
In Your Emails
If you genuinely want to learn how to promote affiliate links without relying on a blog or traffic source like TikTok, you must start using email marketing.
This type of direct marketing is an effective way to share affiliate links in front of a trusted audience.
Most email marketing channels allow you to post affiliate links within your newsletters, just in case you send them to a bridge page.
Bridge Pages
Bridge pages are landing pages that bridge the gap between your email newsletter and the affiliate offer.
This allows you to build trust through a video sales letter or other engaging content before you get to the affiliate link.
This strategy works exceptionally well when trying to maximize CTR and conversions.
This works great compared to placing your affiliate link directly in the email, which can be seen as spammy and make it hard for your audience to trust you.
Use amazing visuals and a clearly defined call-to-action (CTA) to guide them from the bridge page to your affiliate offer.
In Your Courses And Products
Incorporating affiliate links into your courses and digital products is an effective way to increase potential sales.
When creating a course or product, embed your affiliate link into the summary or bottom of your video lesson.
This can be done using various methods, including text links, buttons, and images with embedded links.
You can also include a simple banner ad or sidebar widget on product pages that link directly to your affiliate site.
Following these tips, you can promote your affiliate links in all your existing products and courses.
eBooks
You can promote products within your ebook, which can be a good starting point for increasing sales. Since your target audience is already reading your book, you can add referral links to the text.
Promote affiliate links in your course lessons by including them in the description of your videos, slides, or emails.
This is the simplest way to earn clicks and make more money online with your products and services.
Social Media Platforms
You can promote affiliate links on social media in many ways.
As a social media influencer, I have learned that every platform has different ways to promote affiliate programs.
I’ll show you some ideas regarding social media posts and digital marketing tips.
Side note:
I’d highly recommend tracking affiliate links using a URL shortener tool such as Affilimate or Rebrandly. This will help you keep an eye on your affiliate performance and ensure you get the most out of your campaigns.
Instagram
Promoting affiliate links on Instagram might be the easiest out of all the social networks I will list here.
You can create compelling Instagram reels and then add story posts, which allows you to embed affiliate links with zero issues.
This is an easy way to promote affiliate products as the viewer is already watching your IG story and they don’t need to swipe somewhere else.
You can also add an affiliate link in your instagram bio so that anyone can just click it and directly visit an affiliate website.
TikTok
Promoting an affiliate program on TikTok is a great way to reach a wide audience and drive visits to your affiliate ID.
Consider creating short-form videos that feature discount codes or special offers related to the program.
You can also mention your affiliate program in your bio and add links to the description field under each post.
This will allow users to easily access any discounts or information about the program. Promoting on TikTok can increase visits and clicks to your affiliate site.
Facebook
You can share affiliate links within your Facebook group and have a tight community of people who follow your offers.
I know this works because I am in these communities, and most affiliate marketers do a great job promoting their products and affiliate programs.
Side note:
Don’t promote affiliate links on other people’s Facebook groups, as this is very spammy and annoying for everyone involved.
You can also try to generate clicks with your personal Facebook page, but ensure you do not ruin relationships with family or friends.
Pinterest
Now that Pinterest provides short-form content and can let you include affiliate links in your pins, it is a great platform to get more eyes on your affiliate products.
One hack I am not a big fan of but works is using a TikTok video downloader and repurposing content on Pinterest.
The same thing goes for Instagram video downloads, which include HD quality.
YouTube Shorts
Affiliate links work great with YouTube shorts since you can still place them in your video descriptions.
Since this is similar to reels and TikTok, you can easily repurpose most of the content as they are all short-form videos.
Content creators do better and have more partnerships with affiliate networks as they can leverage their audience to get more clicks and conversions.
As a content creator, you should always research new networks and leverage their offers.
Twitter (X)
You are just one viral tweet away from making many affiliate sales and getting exposure for your brand.
Twitter has been the go-to platform for content creators to gain exposure, repost their content, and make money with affiliate links.
You can use an AI tweet generator such as TweetHunter to help you find trending topics and keywords to create content around.
You can also use it to manage your Twitter activity, which makes it a valuable tool for any affiliate marketer.
I’ve already managed to create a viral tweet using ai and that led to multiple sales for an SEO tool I use called Surfer SEO.
So I’d recommend that add affiliate links within your twitter thread and start making extra money through your affiliate program.
Resource Page
If you have an affiliate site that ranks high on Google, I’d highly recommend creating a page with all your top-performing affiliate programs.
Ensure to include the link and any promo codes or discounts you can access.
This will help increase your conversions as users can find everything in one place. Also, promote this page through social media and newsletters to drive more traffic.
You can even negotiate affiliate commissions with an affiliate network or program to add them to your resource list.
I also know I generate sales for multiple products through this page, as you can get affiliate sub-ids.
How To Know If Your Promotion Methods Are Working
Now that you know how to promote affiliate links using the variety of techniques available, you should also ensure that your efforts produce results.
I’m going to discuss different affiliate and blogging tips that you can use to ensure you maximize revenue for an affiliate program.
Use Affiliate Marketing Tools
Affiliate marketing tools will be able to help you convert more leads into sales by providing a seamless experience for your customers.
This can be tools such as product display boxes, tracking links, and coupon codes.
There are even AI marketing tools that can help you automate the process of tracking and optimizing your affiliate campaigns so you can focus on driving more sales.
Many people are making money due to AI, and you can also leverage it for your affiliate partnerships.
Click Tracking Tools
You can use tools such as google analytics, hotjar, and clickmagick to track your affiliate campaigns’ performance and optimize them for better results.
These link-tracking tools help you identify which URLs and ads are performing well to create more targeted and effective campaigns that increase conversions.
Summary
So you know that when you add affiliate links to your website, you need to track them to optimize and ensure they’re performing as expected.
You can make a lot of money by using these methods and learning how to use them to track your data.
So you can now pick how you want to promote affiliate links, and just for reference if you skipped to the bottom of this article, here are my favorite ways to promote affiliate links:
Besides that, you want to ensure your affiliate link is valid so you are not wasting time on non-converting links.
Luckily, Link Whisper can help you with that by validating your affiliate link before you start promoting it.
You can create more internal and outbound links for your blog articles.

Are you looking to start a new side hustle but wondering if affiliate marketing is a legitimate business model? If you’ve asked yourself this question: Is affiliate marketing a pyramid scheme? Here’s what you need to know.
Affiliate marketing is performance-based marketing in which a business rewards an affiliate for each new customer or sale they generate.
So you can see why the feeling of selling someone else’s product feels strange, and it makes sense for anyone to feel that way.
My name is Eddy, and I’ve been doing affiliate marketing for a few years. I’m happy to share with you my own thoughts on this topic and the main difference between a scam and a real opportunity.
No recruitment is involved in affiliate marketing, so it cannot be considered a pyramid scheme.
That being said, there are some similarities between the two types of programs. Both involve making money by promoting something to others.
However, the key difference is that no product or service is sold in a pyramid scheme. In affiliate marketing, there is always a product or service being promoted.
If you’re considering joining an affiliate program, research to ensure it’s legitimate.
Is Affiliate Marketing legal?
Yes, affiliate marketing is perfectly legal. It’s a common way for companies to expand their reach and for individuals to earn money.
Some people worry that they might be violating the law if they’re not careful with promoting products or services, but as long as you’re honest and transparent about your affiliations, you’ll be fine.
You’ll also want to include an affiliate disclaimer on your blog, and that is just one of the many blogging tips I talked about.
The bottom line is that affiliate marketing is a legitimate way to make money, but it’s not a get-rich-quick scheme.
You can make money on twitter and other social media platforms with affiliate marketing.
The Difference between Affiliate Marketing And Pyramid Schemes
You’ve probably heard of affiliate marketing and pyramid schemes before, but what’s the difference between the two?
Both programs can be found online and promise to make you money. So, which one should you choose? Keep reading to find out.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s (or company’s) products. You find a product or digital service you like, promote it to others, and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make.
When done correctly, affiliate marketing can be a great way to earn some extra income.
How Does it Work?
Let’s say you have a blog about credit repair. You sign up for an affiliate marketing program with a company that sells credit repair services or tips. Once approved for the program, you get a unique affiliate link that you can share on your blog and start making money online.
You earn a commission if someone clicks on your affiliate link and buys something from the company. The amount of money you make depends on the product price and the commission percentage offered by the company.
Most companies also offer bonuses for achieving certain sales milestones. For example, you might earn an extra $100 bonus if you bring in $1,000 worth of sales monthly.
What is a Pyramid Scheme?
A pyramid scheme is an illegal business model that involves promising participants payment or services for enrolling other people into the scheme.
Pyramid schemes are unsustainable because insufficient recruits support everyone as they move up the pyramid.
With these common scams, only the first person will make an income due to everyone at the bottom fighting for more sales.
This isn’t a type of marketing that I recommend to anyone or a beginner.
So, what’s the difference?
The key difference between affiliate marketing and pyramid schemes is that an affiliate marketing business is a legitimate way to make money, while pyramid schemes are not.
Being an affiliate marketer, you earn a commission on sales made by people who click on your affiliate link. With pyramid schemes, you’re promised payment simply for recruiting new members into the scheme.
Another big difference between the two is pyramid schemes are typically sold as get-rich-quick schemes. At the same time, affiliate marketing takes time and a lot of effort to build a successful affiliate marketing business.
A pyramid scheme is unsustainable and not a great way to start an online business.
What Are The Similarities Between Affiliate Marketing And Pyramid Schemes?
The main similarity between these two business models is that they are both ways for people to make money.
With affiliate marketing, you are rewarded for bringing new customers to a business. With a pyramid scheme or multi-level marketing, you are rewarded for enrolling new members into the scheme.
Both are considered online marketing, but with MLMs or pyramid schemes, you need to start promoting the dream instead of the solution right away.
If you are good at promoting products or services and have a large social media following, you can start earning affiliate commissions fairly quickly.
Similarly, with MLMs (Multi Level Marketing) or pyramid schemes, you can start making money as soon as you enroll other members and have them sell products or services.
I don’t enjoy selling to my friends and trying to convince people to join a pyramid scheme.
[lasso id=”5649″ link_id=”69709″ ref=”gojasper”]
Is Affiliate Marketing better than MLM?
There is no easy answer to this question. It depends on what you are looking for and what kind of person you are.
Affiliate marketing might be a better option if you want to be your own boss, have more control over your income, and don’t mind taking a little bit longer to start seeing results.
If you want to make money more quickly and don’t mind recruiting friends and family, MLM could be a better option.
It depends on your preferences.
P.S: I think affiliate marketing is one of the best business models out there, and you shouldn’t have to pay to join programs to work with them.
My Reasoning That Affiliate Marketing Is Not A Pyramid Scheme
After years of trying different side hustles and even getting scammed by online business opportunities, I’ve learned that affiliate marketing is a legitimate way to start a business.
I also know that some people ruin the name of affiliate marketing and will sell you the dream. This could be through illegal activities and fake products that need to be fixed.
Here’s my recent monthly revenue sheet this year:
I’ve stuck through the basics and done it the right way. Here are a few things I did to make it work without faking it to the top:
Pick a micro niche
Build an actual website that works
Do SEO and video content
Start getting trickles of organic traffic on both platforms
Reply to all comments and grow a target audience that believes in you
Build relationships with real people
Rinse & Repeat
Don’t just focus on getting sales but on the user’s problem. Once you understand, then you know you can make affiliate marketing work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Affiliate Marketers Scammers?
No, Affiliates are not scammers and only make affiliate income from direct sales. They do not make any revenue through tiered memberships.
Affiliates also have complete control of their income and what they can say and promote different affiliate networks, products, and services.
Are there any other benefits of affiliate marketing?
Yes! In addition to being your own boss and having control over your income, affiliate marketing also offers:
The ability to work from anywhere in the world
Flexible hours and gradually increased sales
No inventory to worry about
No shipping or customer service
Run promotions through email marketing campaigns
And much more that you can explore once you get started in this business model.
Can You Trust Affiliate Marketing?
Unlike MLMs, you can trust affiliate marketing because it’s a sustainable business model that even Amazon offers its users.
There are many affiliate networks and companies to choose from, so you can find products and services you trust.
You can also read reviews of different affiliate programs before joining to get an idea of what other people think.
Most beginners or those scammed by a high-ticket course think that affiliate marketing is a pyramid scheme.
It is not a pyramid scheme because you’re only making money from the product or service that you’re promoting.
You’re not making money from people who join after you. Also, there’s no guarantee that you will make any money from affiliate marketing.
It takes hard work, dedication, and time to start seeing results. If you’re looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, then affiliate marketing is not for you.
Are there Affiliate Marketing Scams I Should Look Out For?
As with many business models that offer you the opportunity to make a good income, there are some things to look out for to avoid affiliate marketing scams.
1. Promises of Easy Money
One of the most common affiliate marketing scams is promising easy money. Many scammers will claim that you can make much money quickly and with little effort by becoming an affiliate marketer.
However, affiliate marketing takes a lot of work and is not a get-rich-quick scheme. If you see an offer that promises easy money, it is likely a scam.
2. Upfront Costs
Another common scam is charging upfront costs. Some scammers claim you need to pay for a “starter kit” or another product to become an affiliate marketer.
However, affiliate marketers should never have to pay to join an affiliate program. If you see an offer that requires upfront payment, it is likely a scam.
3. Training Programs
Some scammers will also offer training programs that promise to teach you how to be a successful affiliate marketer.
However, these programs are often useless and do not provide the information they claim to offer.
Also, many of these programs are very expensive, so you would be wasting your hard-earned money even if they provided useful information.
Don’t let this prevent you from joining a reputable course on how to be a successful affiliate marketer. Make sure you do your homework before joining and pay close attention to the negative reviews.
4. Guarantees
Another common scam is offering guarantees. Many scammers claim that they can guarantee your success as an affiliate marketer or that their program will make you money.
However, there are no guarantees in affiliate marketing, and any program that claims otherwise is likely a scam.
5. Fake Testimonials
Many scammers use fake testimonials to try and sell their products or services.
They will often create fake web pages or social media accounts with only positive reviews of their products or services to trick people into thinking they are legitimate.
How Do I Know if the Affiliate Program I Join is Legit?
If you are asking the question, “Is Affiliate marketing a pyramid scheme”? You may want to know how to tell if an affiliate marketing program is legit. Here are some tips:
1. Check the company’s Better Business Bureau rating.
The Better Business Bureau is a nonprofit organization that rates businesses based on customer satisfaction and tries to protect consumers from scams.
A company with a high rating with the BBB will likely have a reputable affiliate program.
2. Read reviews of the company online.
Another way to research a company’s legitimacy is to read reviews online. If other people have had positive experiences with the company, then it’s likely that their affiliate program is also legitimate.
3. Look for red flags on the company’s website.
Some red flags can indicate that an affiliate marketing program is not legitimate. For example, if the website promises unrealistic earnings or requires you to pay to join the program, likely, the program is not legitimate.
4. Contact The Company Directly And Ask Questions About Its Affiliate Program.
If you’re unsure whether a company’s affiliate program is legitimate, you can always contact the company directly and ask them questions about their program.
The affiliate manager should be quick to response and provide you with all the answers to your questions.
If they’re unable to answer your questions or seem evasive, then it’s likely that their affiliate program is not legitimate.
5. Read the terms and conditions
Once you’ve done your research and are ready to sign up for an affiliate program, read the terms and conditions carefully.
This document will outline the company’s and affiliate marketers’ rights and responsibilities, so you must understand it before agreeing.
Most affiliate programs are legitimate, but you’ll need to use your best judgment when deciding whether an affiliate is right for you. If something doesn’t feel right, it’s probably not worth your time and effort.
So, Is Affiliate Marketing A Pyramid Scheme?
No, affiliate marketing is not a pyramid scheme, and you do not have to pay for any startup costs to sell products or services online.
Have you ever wanted to start an affiliate marketing business but had no idea where to start? Are you tired of promoting affiliate products that don’t yield a high return and get awful affiliate marketing tips from others?
If you’re reading this, you’ve probably realized that becoming an affiliate marketer is a great way to make money online, even in your spare time. And you’re right.
However, starting with this side hustle or business is not always easy. Why?
Many fake affiliate marketing gurus are outselling you a $1,000 course to have you sell the same or similar products.
You don’t need to spend much money to get started with this online business model. You can start for free. In this blog post, I will show you 51+ tips on affiliate marketing in 2024 from a full-time affiliate marketer.

Here’s proof of my affiliate income from one program:
What Are The Best Affiliate Marketing Tips?
Let’s get straight into the golden nuggets of this post and go over everything I have learned in the past few years doing affiliate marketing.
Here are the top affiliate marketing tips for beginners and seasoned marketers.
1. Setup A Blog
One of the biggest mistakes I see people make when trying to become an affiliate marketer is not having their own blog or website.
Just promoting on social media platforms is enough, but that will not work.
An affiliate marketing website can help you in many ways, such as making you look like an authority in your niche and having relationships with products and services you want to work with.
This is one of the best types of marketing anyone can do, so make sure you start a blog.
I even get emails for product placement agreements with a company I constantly blog about. This is one of the best affiliate marketing strategies for promoting products online.
So, a blog will also help you build an audience of people interested in what you say and those searching for an answer.
This is important because you can promote affiliate products to this group and make sales.
2. Write list posts and product reviews
These two blog post types are the bread and butter of my affiliate marketing strategy. As you start affiliate marketing and promoting products with SEO, you’ll agree with me on this.
You genuinely want to ensure that the articles presented offer valuable information to your readers, as this will make them stay on your site, come back for more, and maybe even buy something from you.
3. Add An Exit-intent Pop-Up Form
One of my favorite methods and affiliate marketing tips for bloggers is to use exit-intent pop-ups.
This code you add to your blog triggers a pop-up when the user’s cursor is about to leave the web page.
This is necessary to capture the user’s attention because they were about to leave without taking action on your site.
For example, if you are doing paid advertising or generating traffic from other sources, including pop-up forms is important.
I recommend Thrive Leads or Convertbox since these affiliate tools allow you to create pop-ups and gain your visitor’s attention without annoying them.
You want to ensure the CTA stands out and is relevant to your blog’s topic.
Again, a sidebar product placement aims to bridge the gap between your blog content and visitors so you can start bringing in sales.
5. Add An Affiliate Disclaimer on Every Blog Post
I see many new affiliate marketers mess this up, so I wanted to include it in this post. Having an affiliate disclaimer on every blog post would be best because you don’t want to get sued for not disclosing that you’re an affiliate.
The best way to do this is by adding a simple sentence at the beginning or end of each blog post.
For example:
“This blog post contains affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission at no cost if you purchase through my link.”
You comply with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) guidelines by adding this simple sentence and creating a separate page to a disclaimer page.
And trust me, you don’t want to be on the bad side of the Federal Trade Commission.
6. Use Affiliate Tracking Software
You need to start tracking your link clicks if you’re earning affiliate sales but need to know where they’re coming from.
You can use free tools such as Google Analytics and Thirsty Affiliates to track your web traffic if you are on a budget.
But if you have a budget, you can use something like Affilimate or Clickmagick which are link tracker software.
Link Tracking For Affiliates
Affilimate
15-Day Free Trial
Use this tool to know exactly what drives sales for each affiliate program you work with. Feel confident tracking your sales without a buggy or slowing down your page speed.
These tools tell you exactly where each sale comes from, so you can optimize your strategies and make more sales.
This helps further understand where you should place each affiliate program in certain areas of your articles, as Affilimate uses heatmaps to know the exact location of a click on-page.
This seriously makes your marketing efforts easier without working blindfolded.
7. Write Product Alternatives
If you match the search intent correctly, writing alternatives to two or more products can lead to potential sales.
These posts are commonly searched for on Google with phrases such as “Best WordPress Alternatives” or “Best Gumroad Alternatives.”
The goal is to write an article comparing your favorite products in the same niche. You will want to add affiliate links to both products you’re promoting.
Be sure to be neutral, as the idea is to give the reader a fair comparison of all the relevant products and help them decide what they want.
Side note:
I still earn on Google from comparing products on my own alternative posts since my target market might prefer one over the other.
So as you create great content and offer product recommendations, you can make money as an affiliate marketer.
8. Sign Up With High Ticket Affiliate Programs
Since ranking content or creating videos is the same for every program you promote, you can generate revenue faster by signing up with high-ticket affiliate programs.
High-ticket affiliate programs pay you higher commissions for the same effort you would spend on a lower ticket item.
So all you need is a few affiliate links from a high-ticket program that can earn money monthly.
For example, you could get paid $500 per sale for promoting an online course that costs $1,000.
You only need two monthly sales to make $1,000 in affiliate commissions.
Most of these offers will be online marketing instead of physical products, so look for that.
9. Sign Up With Recurring Commissions
Like any other business, affiliate marketing requires time and effort to make it work.
The best way to ensure long-term success is by signing up for programs that offer recurring commissions.
Recurring commissions are when you get paid a commission every time someone pays their monthly subscription.
For example, if promoting a software tool costs $49/month with a 30% commission split, you will get paid $14.70 per month per person you refer as long as they stay subscribed.
Side note:
The affiliate manager sometimes offers affiliate campaigns with bonuses for a specific month.
For example, they may offer a 40% commission instead of 30% to promote a new product launch for the first month.
This is a great way to build a passive income stream because you can earn monthly affiliate commissions without doing extra work.
10. Supplement Your Income With Display Ads And Sponsored Placements
Even if you are doing well with an affiliate marketing program, I recommend signing up with ad networks such as MediaVine or Ezoic Premium.
This will help supplement your affiliate marketing efforts and reward you by sharing some of their ad revenue.
Your earnings will depend on the traffic you generate to your website.
But if you need examples, you can always watch Mediavine’s case studies or Ezoic Levels to get inspired.
I recommend waiting once you have at least 10,000 monthly visitors through organic search since you can earn more from the start.
11. Make Sure Affiliate Links Are Always No-Follow
Ensure your affiliate links are no-follow so search engines don’t crawl that link and penalize you.
A no-follow link is an HTML attribute that tells search engines not to follow or crawl that specific link.
You can easily add the no-follow tag with WordPress or other blogging platforms. I personally use Thrive Suite.
12. Track Metrics Using Google Analytics
When understanding KPIs (key performance indicators), Google Analytics and Search Console Insights are the best free tools you can use.
This will help you track how much traffic comes from each referring page, what keywords they used to find your site, and how long they stayed on your affiliate site.
I use it to understand my organic traffic and optimize for the keyword users search for, aka matching the search intent.
Once you know that, you can improve the quality of your already existing content or old content and answer the questions your target audience is looking for.
This is because they are ranking for short-tail keywords for which they had to establish backlinks and authority.
Try ranking for long-tail keywords to stand out and still get a piece of the pie.
Long-tail keywords are longer, more specific phrases with low competition and are more accessible to rank, which I add to my affiliate marketing strategy for blogging.
For example, “best affiliate marketing programs” is challenging to rank, but “best affiliate marketing programs for credit repair” is a long-tail keyword with low competition.
It’s also something people are more likely to type into Google if they are starting based on niche-related products.
14. Build A Strong Relationship With Affiliate Managers
If you genuinely want to become successful with seasonal affiliate marketing campaigns, you need to build a strong relationship with your affiliate managers.
Your affiliate marketing success manager is the one who will approve your application to join an affiliate marketing program, and they can also help you with content marketing ideas.
They are also the ones who will be promoting new affiliate offers and marketing campaigns to you, so it’s important to stay in touch or at least let them know about your content creation strategy.
15. Create Product Comparison Posts
Writing comparison articles is a great way to start making money by comparing two products or services.
For example, you could write a post comparing the best landing page builders or Jasper AI vs. Copy AI.
This is a great way to start writing helpful content give you experience or understand the products you are promoting.
Comparing products also helps your readers decide which product is best for them and can help increase conversions.
16. Stay Updated With Trends In Your Niche
My favorite tip for newbies just starting their affiliate business is to stay updated with current trends in their niche.
Following and researching new affiliate marketing trends or trending topics, in general, will also give you ideas on what content to create and how to stand out from the competition.
The best way is to sign up for newsletters, follow blogs, or set Google alerts for your niche keywords.
Another freemium way would be to use exploding topics or meetglimpse to look for trending topics in different niches.
17. Shorten Your Affiliate Link URLs
If you’re like me, then you probably won’t click on a URL that looks like this:
It looks spammy, and I’m unsure what to get myself into. This is why it’s essential to use a URL shortener like Bitly or Getlasso when creating affiliate links.
This is one of my biggest affiliate marketing tips for beginners you start to promote your links online.
You can also use a WordPress plugin like Pretty Links or thirsty affiliates to manage and cloak your links easily.
18. Use Sales Funnels
Creating landing and sales pages is a great way to increase conversions by pre-selling the product or service you’re promoting.
If you don’t know how to create sales funnels, I recommend using Clickfunnels or any sales funnel software.
Creating a sales funnel can be as simple as creating a landing page and thank you page and adding your affiliate links to the pages.
19. Build An Email List
No matter what social media platforms you gain traction on or how much traffic you get on an affiliate website, you never know when those platforms or websites will disappear.
This is why it’s essential to always focus on building an email list from your traffic sources and learn email marketing strategies.
You can do this by offering a freebie in exchange for an email address or using an email capture form on your website.
Once you have a list of emails, you can start promoting products without spending more money on other tools.
20. Join Multiple Affiliate Networks
When starting, I always recommend focusing on one or two affiliate products to promote, but once you understand how affiliate marketing works, you can begin to join multiple affiliate networks.
Side note:
An affiliate network is a platform where brands and affiliate marketers can connect.
Some of the best affiliate networks are:
Partnerstack
ShareAsale
Rakuten
CjAffiliate
Digistore24
Rewardful
Amazon associates
Joining multiple affiliate networks will give you various products to promote and also help you diversify your affiliate revenue.
The common network would be Amazon associates.
21. Offer Bonuses
The best affiliate promotes with bonuses always win, in my opinion. This is known as a bonus stack in the affiliate marketing sphere.
No one likes feeling like they’re being sold to, but everyone loves getting a good deal.
This is why offering bonuses or an offer stack is a way to increase conversions while promoting the products you love.
For example, if you’re promoting a web hosting company, you could offer a free website template or a course on teaching them how to set up their blog.
I offer bonuses and provide my email so they can send me their proof of purchase to get the bonuses.
22. Create Courses That Solves A Problem Using An Affiliate Product
A marketer dreams of having multiple income sources while solving people’s problems. Well, you can add two to that list of goals.
You can sell online courses as low-ticket items and show them how to do something with your affiliate product.
For example, if you’re promoting AI writing software, you could create a course on how to write blog posts faster and use the affiliate product as an upsell.
This would work perfectly as a sales funnel because you’ve already solved their problem of not knowing how to write quality content faster, and they see the value in the product.
23. Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Higher Commission Rates
If you’re doing fantastic and bringing in traffic for brands and services, it’s time to use your leverage to get better commission rates.
This is why tracking your progress is essential so you can show them exactly what you’re doing and how much revenue you’re bringing in.
Once you have the data, contact the affiliate manager for a higher commission rate.
You’d be surprised how often they say yes because you’re already doing the work and generating revenue for them.
When they see that you are directly contacting and doing the work, they can get instant access to new features or insider scoop on a brand’s product before anyone else.
24. Improve Your Existing Affiliate Content
One major affiliate marketing tip for bloggers is to take a step back and improve your existing affiliate content.
You can use an AI text generator to help you create high-quality content for your sales pages and SEO content.
You can add new images and videos or even update the text to make it more relevant. This helps you gain more traction within the search results.
The great thing about YouTube is that you don’t need fancy equipment to create a youtube video that ranks on YouTube.
You can even use tools like ChatGPT to come up with video topics and scripts.
27. Add Affiliate Links In Your YouTube Description
An affiliate marketer should add links in their description because it’s an easy way to make money.
When people see you’re an affiliate for a product, they are likelier to click on it and buy it.
The best thing you can do is test out different products and services to see which ones convert the best.
But of course, you will want to ensure it’s related to the video so it matches the user’s search intent.
It would honestly be a waste of word count in your description box.
28. Repurpose Everything
Creating an Omni presence is vital with affiliate marketing, and you want to ensure that everything you make can be repurposed somehow.
This means creating articles, YouTube videos, and social media posts that can all be used for each other.
For example, you can turn an article into a video or podcast episode.
Then when you make the video, you can repurpose it on any other social media channel. This can easily be done with video captioning software like Veed or Zubtitle.
29. Create A Bridge Page
If you want to bridge the gap between your blog content and the products you promote as an affiliate, consider creating a bridge page.
This is a staple for content marketing when you want to make affiliate commissions for yourself.
These landing pages send the user to the next affiliate website or program you’re promoting.
A bridge page is essentially a way to “pre-sell” the product or service before the user clicks on the affiliate link.
The added benefit is that you are also growing your list of email subscribers and sending email sequences to those that didn’t purchase.
30. Start A TikTok Account
Affiliate marketing on Tiktok is a great way to increase your marketing efforts. You can also make a lot of money on Tiktok as an affiliate marketer.
Since TikTok is about creating short videos, you can quickly create engaging content promoting your affiliate products.
The best thing about TikTok is that you can match trends with education and create content for your target audience.
Side note:
Some brands will partner with you even if they don’t have an affiliate program. That’s why you see some content creators with a discount code offer for their viewers.
31. Start An Instagram Page
Like TikTok, affiliate marketing on Instagram can become very viable, especially if you do Instagram reels.
Reels are short videos that are categorized under disruptive marketing.
So long as you stay consistent on IG, you can row a huge brand for yourself and master mobile marketing.
32. Add Your Referral Link To Your Instagram Stories
Did you know you can add referral links or discount codes to your Instagram stories?
You can use the sticker feature to add links to your story and have your followers click on the affiliate product.
This is a great way to get more clicks and conversions because it’s placed right in front of their face.
Just make sure you are not using a direct link, but instead using a link cloaking tool.
33. Use Pinterest Idea Pins
There was a time when doing interest was better than Google SEO, but nowadays, it’s not as easy to scale.
But with Pinterest Idea pins, you can grow your interest profile by adding short-form content.
The only problem with this is that you can’t add links to the idea pin, only the option to get followers.
34. Create A Recommend Resources Page
You should create a page where your best-performing products are to earn affiliate income semi-passively.
This is common with bloggers because they want to send their blog traffic to other sites that will convert.
You must only put the best-converting products on this page, so you don’t lose out on any commissions or lose the trust of your raging fans.
35. Build Internal Links
Having internal links throughout your site establishes authority and boosts your SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
But it would be best to use internal linking to support your affiliate content.
For example, if you’re writing a blog post about “How To Start A Business,” you can link to your transactional post called “Best affiliate marketing tools.”
This will help boost your conversion rates because you’re providing more value to the user.
36. Always Disclose Your Affiliate In Your Videos
You must disclose affiliate links in your Youtube video descriptions as an affiliate partner.
The easiest way is by adding “*Affiliate Link” to the product you’re promoting in the description box.
It would be best to put a disclaimer at the beginning of your video saying you’re an affiliate for the product you’re about to review.
37. Reinvest Profits Into Ads
The sad truth is that when an affiliate earns their first commission, they cash it out and never reinvest it into their business.
As an affiliate marketer, you always need to think about how to scale your efforts.
One of the best ways to do this is by reinvesting your profits into digital ads.
This will help you reach a larger audience and increase sales with targeted global online shoppers.
38. Reverse Engineer What’s Working (With A Twist)
If you’re having trouble finding content to create, try reverse engineering your competitor’s sites.
I love reviewing company sites and competitors’ keywords or backlinks for inspiration. The twist is that you don’t want to copy what they’re doing. You want to improve upon it.
This way, you can come out on top and be the authority in your niche.
39. What To Do If You Still Have A Pending Affiliate Application
When you haven’t heard back from an affiliate marketing program, a smart move is to email them.
Most likely, your application is in a queue, and someone just hasn’t approved it yet. A gentle reminder email could push you to get accepted into the program.
40. Don’t Troll Online Communities
Have you ever seen people write “valuable posts” on their Facebook page but sneakily try to get sales?
These newbie marketers are called trolls and can get annoying in the online business industry. Not only do they not get conversions, but they also get banned from most online communities.
The key to success is providing value without overtly selling to the community.
41. Create Comparison Tables
Creating comparison tables is one of my favorite affiliate strategies because it’s versatile.
You can use them in your product comparisons, landing pages, or pages within your website.
They are helpful because they show your audience different options for products they might be interested in and can drive sales.
I love using affiliate plugins like thrive architect or Getlasso for this feature. But there are other tools you can try out as well.
42. Add Product Display Boxes
One of the most significant pieces of affiliate marketing advice I can give you is to add product boxes to your product reviews, best-of, and how-to guides.
This can show the pros and cons of a product with a call-to-action at the end and here’s a great example of one below.
AI Writing Tool
Jasper. AI
Receive 10,000 Free Bonus Credits
I use Jasper AI (Formerly Jarvis.AI) to write all my articles and social media content. This software lets you create a post in seconds with just the push of one button!
It’s also an effective way to increase conversions without being too salesy and a great tool I use for creating boxes is thrive suite or Lasso.
43. Use A Facebook Profile Funnel
Affiliate marketing on Facebook is very doable, and the best way to do it is with a profile funnel.
This means you create a Facebook profile for your brand/business and then use that to drive traffic to your website or landing pages.
Many affiliate marketers love this strategy because it’s free traffic.
44. Here’s What To Do If A Product Doesn’t Have An Affiliate Program
So what happens if a business doesn’t offer an affiliate program? Here are three things you can try to do.
The first would be to encourage the product manager or head of content to start an affiliate program using software.
The second thing you can try is to secure brand deals instead of joining their affiliate network. You can also find backup affiliate partners instead of trying to work with a specific brand.
45. Offer Private Coaching As A Bonus
Similar to bonuses, you can provide free coaching with an affiliate program.
This could be a live Q&A, a video call, or written content.
I offered this when I was promoting Credit Repair Cloud, which is a credit repair software program. This was an excellent way to keep churn rates low.
46. Use Influencer Marketing To Attract New Visitors
Getting popular influencers in your niche to promote your affiliate products is a great way to attract new and repeat visitors.
When their followers see that they’re using and loving your products, they’ll be more likely to buy them.
So again, this is geared toward businesses selling digital products or even physical goods such as clothing brands.
The answer is you should do both. But how does that work with affiliate marketing? Well, it’s simple. You can promote your affiliate products on your blog and your YouTube channel.
This way, you can reach a larger audience and make more sales by pairing the two together.
48. Check Your Emails
Always check your emails for a couple of reasons.
The first is to see if new companies send you messages about promoting their offers. This happens more often than you think.
The second reason is to see if any of your current referral companies have sent you new information or resources.
They might have updates on their products or changes in their commission structure.
49. Follow Up With Social Media Followers
Trust me when I say I wish I had known about this affiliate marketing tip sooner.
You should always follow up with your social media followers and review your private message requests.
Many new followers typically ask about a product or service before purchasing, so you could quickly close the sale through direct messaging.
The best way to do this is with an automated message through a tool like ManyChat or Chatfuel.
50. Track All Of Your Earnings
It’s important to track your online income from affiliate marketing.
You can do this manually with a spreadsheet or use a bookkeeping app like QuickBooks Online.
This will help you keep track of your spending, income, and profits to make informed decisions about your affiliate marketing business.
51. Find low competition keywords with a transactional value
Finding low-completion keywords with high transactional value is one of the best ways to succeed in affiliate marketing.
I like to use a combination of Google search, lowfruits.io, and Ahrefs to find these keywords.
Once you’ve found a few good keywords, create content around those keywords and promote your products within that content.
But even with all the tools in the online world, you need to do your research and be willing to put in the hard work.
52. Use Brand Assets
Most referral dashboards offer brand assets, and you might as well use them to your advantage. A brand’s content will almost always convert better than yours because people trust the brands they know.
Plus, you don’t need to go through the hassle of creating your images or graphic design.
53. Leverage Social Proof
You will significantly increase conversions if you can leverage social proof such as online reviews or video testimonials.
People want to see that others have used your product or service and loved it before purchasing.
This is why user-generated content is so important.
54. Focus On One Business Model And A Few Affiliate Marketing Products
It’s essential not to get FOMO and stay focused to make affiliate marketing work.
Whether you see a new shiny course on a dropshipping business or a new side hustle idea, resisting the urge to jump ship is essential.
You need to focus on one business model and manage affiliate marketing campaigns to see it through before moving on to something else.
55. Start Selling Digital Products
The easiest way to promote affiliate links is by creating a digital product that solves a solution with the product that you are affiliated with.
This makes it easy to make more money with valuable content that the user is looking for.
56. Learn Storytelling
As an affiliate marketer, it’s important to start learning how to generate stories that sell.
You can use an AI story generator to help you develop an amazing pitch for your landing pages or blog articles.
As you start crafting compelling stories, you can use this skill in your emails, videos, and affiliate bridge pages.
What Is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is where a person promotes a product or service in exchange for a commission.
If that person can generate sales or leads for the company, they will receive a percentage of the total sale.
For example, if you refer someone to purchase a pair of shoes from Amazon, you would earn a commission on that sale.
This business model is a popular way to make money online because it requires very little upfront investment and can be done by anyone with a website or blog.
It’s also a flexible way to earn an income since you can choose which products or services to promote and how much effort you want to put into your campaigns.
How To Become The Best Affiliate Marketer
To become the best affiliate marketer, you need to create automation and put in the work to scale your business.
Use these tips to build a successful affiliate marketing business:
Create A Plan & Set Goals
Find The Right Niche & Products
Build A Website Or Blog
Drive Traffic To Your Site
Convert That Traffic Into Sales or Leads
Follow up with your users after they’ve purchased
The critical factor in this is to be consistent and never give up. The clicks and revenue will come. I’ve always told people that affiliate marketing takes time and is one of the best one-person business models to try out.
Since you don’t need a team of customer support people or sales reps, affiliate marketing can be done all on your own.
How Much Do Beginner Affiliate Marketers Make?
After doing 800 coaching calls with other bloggers and affiliates, the average I see most newbies make is around $200-$1,000/month.
This is a great starting point after 3-6 months of work. You can reinvest that money into scaling your business to make even more money.
How Long Does It Take To See Results With Affiliate Marketing?
When I started this journey, it took most people 3-6 months, including myself, to see results.
My Personal Story As A Successful Affiliate
When I first started trying to make a living online, I spent $2,500 on a Legendary Marketer program.
Sadly, I didn’t do anything with it and felt like a failure after borrowing money from my parents to purchase it.
I was so close to giving up but decided to give it one last shot.
Affiliate Marketing: Offers flexibility and lower start-up costs. It’s suitable for individuals looking for passive income streams through content creation, allowing the promotion of various products.
Network Marketing: Requires active recruitment and sales efforts, with potential income tied to team performance. It may involve higher initial investments and monthly fees.
Better Option: The choice depends on personal preferences and skills. Affiliate Marketing is more accessible and less demanding, making it a preferable choice for individuals seeking a more passive approach to online income. Network Marketing, while potentially lucrative, requires significant time and effort in sales and team management.
In this blog post, we will compare Affiliate Marketing vs Network Marketing so that you can decide which business model is right for you in 2024.
Both businesses have pros and cons, but ultimately, it comes down to what you are comfortable with and what you think has the most potential for success.
Affiliate Marketing is a great way to start making money online, but Network Marketing can be even more lucrative if done correctly. We hope this information helps you make the best decision for your future.
Now for reference, I’ve tried both and still do affiliate marketing today which reflects through this blog and YouTube channel.
I’ve also reviewed different MLM companies and network marketing companies, which goes over their sales model and key differences.
What Is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is passive income that allows you to promote someone else’s product or service and earn a commission when someone buys from your link.
You can then share this link with your audience, and whenever someone clicks on it and makes a purchase, you will earn a sale.
By creating digestible content online, you can attract an audience and drive traffic to your affiliate links, which I have done for myself.
Being an affiliate is the best type of marketing to earn passive income, and it’s also relatively easy to get started.
Many affiliate programs are available, and new affiliates can earn a commission without any upfront investment.
Start-Up Costs
Most affiliate businesses do not require any start-up costs. You can get started with just a computer and an internet connection (It sounds like one of those YouTube Ads).
You will need to create content, but you can do this for free or with little to no money using a platform like WordPress and YouTube.
You will also need to sign up for an affiliate program, but many of these are free to join. So you won’t lose money, but you might waste your time.
Go to the bottom footer of a website, and you will typically see an “Affiliate Program” link.
To summarize your investment, these are the only costs:
Your time
A Domain name: 10/yr (optional)
Web hosting & A WordPress theme: $60/yr (Free & Paid)
Youtube Channel: Free
Email Marketing Service: $19/mo (optional)
Total Yearly Costs = $70-$100 USD.
This is if you choose to get a domain name and web hosting, which I recommend. You can start for free with a YouTube channel and social media platforms.
Once you start bringing in more revenue, I’d recommend investing in better tools for your affiliate marketing business.
You can always look up income reports for those sharing it online, such as Adam Enfroy’s blog post.
It’s also important to note that some affiliate programs offer recurring commissions, so you can continue earning money from the same customer even after their initial purchase.
This is a great way to earn passive income, and it’s one of the main reasons I recommend affiliate marketing to people looking to make money online.
What Is Network Marketing?
Network marketing, or multi-level marketing (MLM), is a business model in which you promote a company’s products or services and earn a commission on every sale.
But unlike affiliate marketing, in network marketing, you also earn a commission on the sales of the people you recruit into the business (your downline).
This is how most people make money in network marketing, by building a team of other salespeople who then go out and promote the products or services themselves.
Many people draw comparisons between network marketing and affiliate marketing, but the two businesses have some key differences.
This is why most people run the other way when they hear you’ve joined a network marketing business model.
Because most network marketers are told to recruit their family members and friends into the business, they wonder why nobody wants to join them.
If someone has ever approached you in a network marketing business and felt pressured to sign up, you know what I’m talking about.
Start-Up Costs
Most MLM participants need to buy products from the company they’re promoting (which can be expensive) and still pay a monthly fee to participate in the direct sales business.
So, your start-up costs can be quite high, and there’s no guarantee you will make any money. Most people who join MLM businesses never make any money.
To summarize your investment, these are the only costs:
The cost of the products you need to buy from the company: $100-$500 USD
The monthly fee to participate in the business is $20-$100 USD
Online Platforms: $29-$49
Total Yearly Costs = $1440-$12,000 USD.
This is if you join a person-to-person sales business that requires you to stay on a monthly subscription.
Earning Potential
The earning potential in network marketing can secure decent income if you know how to recruit people and build a large team.
Side note:
Be careful of pyramid schemes that promise you’ll make money from the people you recruit without having to sell any products yourself.
These are illegal and will only leave you in debt.
In a legitimate network marketing business, you can earn a commission on every product sale made by your team, as well as your own effort in driving sales.
MLM programs recommend contacting everyone and anyone you know to try to sell their products or recruit them into the business.
You’re also told that you must be very active on social media, constantly posting about the products or services you’re promoting, which is your main lead generation source.
This will also mean you need a lot more personal interaction than affiliate marketers need.
I’ve made a few sales myself as a network marketer, which you can see below.
In short, network marketing companies can be a great way to earn residual income, but only if you’re willing to sell products, recruit people, and build your social network.
Differences Between Affiliate And Network Marketing
I have been in both affiliate marketing and network marketing, and I can tell you that they are two very different business models. Here’s a quick overview and the major key difference between these two:
In affiliate marketing, you earn a commission on every product sale that you drive.
There is no need to recruit people into the business or sell products yourself. You can freely join whatever affiliate program you want.
In network marketing, you earn a commission on every product sale you drive and a commission on the sales of the people you recruit into the business (your network recruitment).
People often compare network marketing to affiliate marketing, but the two businesses have some key differences.

The Freedom To Promote Multiple Products As An Affiliate
The beauty of affiliate marketing is that you can be an affiliate for multiple products simultaneously.
You’re not limited to just promoting one product from one company. Most successful affiliate marketers promote multiple products from multiple companies.
This gives you much freedom regarding the products you can promote and allows you to pivot into different niches.
When you join a multi-level marketing company, they typically have very strict policies about what products you can promote and how to promote them.
As a network marketer, you need to use the assets the company provides you through your online account.
The Income Potential Is Higher With Affiliate Marketing
The income potential is higher with affiliate marketing, and you don’t feel as shady because you’re not constantly pestering your friends and family to buy things from you.
P.S. Blogging and affiliate marketing are currently my favorite combo.

Most affiliate programs will pay out 20%-30% and at times, if you bring them enough product sales, you can increase your commission rate.
Most Affiliate Marketing Programs are Totally Free to Join
As I said earlier, MLM companies have huge costs to begin with.
The parent company generally charges significant fees for launching, which include everything you want to sell, and it would be very difficult to offset these expenses.
They often charge membership fees on an ongoing basis, and you’ll need a certain amount of revenue to see an initial return.
Affiliate programs allow you to join for free and access thousands of distinct niches from affiliate networks like ShareASale, Cj Affiliates, and Clickbank.
To summarize, if you’re looking for a side hustle to start in 2024, I recommend affiliate marketing over network marketing. It’s less risky.
You Don’t Have Close The Sale With Affiliate Marketing
New affiliate marketers have complete control over how they want to run their own business.
Unfortunately, with a person-to-person sales business like network marketing, you have to close the sale yourself or find someone who will.
Closing a sale can be very challenging and takes a lot of skill, which is why most people fail in direct sales.
Network marketing may not be for you if you’re not a “people person” and can’t provide direct communications consistently.
When you join an affiliate marketing program, individual affiliates do not have to worry about closing the sale.
They must generate traffic and let the merchant or affiliate network handle the rest.
In short, as an affiliate marketer, your priority is to start promoting products that solve your audiences’ problems.
A pyramid scheme is an illegal business model where participants only make money by recruiting more members.
In affiliate marketing, you earn revenue through selling products and services, not through recruiting people or other member’s profits.
Is Network Marketing And MLM The Same?
Network marketing and MLM are often used interchangeably, but they differ. Network marketing is a sell-based system where you earn commissions for every product you sell.
MLM is a payment system where you earn commissions based on the number of people you recruit into the company.
So, what’s the difference? Well, network marketing is usually much easier and doesn’t require a large upfront investment.
You also don’t need to recruit people to make money – you can sell products and earn commissions. Conversely, MLM is extremely difficult to get into and usually requires a large upfront investment.
In addition, you need to recruit people to make money, meaning it can be tough to profit unless you’re very good at recruiting.
Affiliate Marketing Vs Network marketing: Final Pick
Most people mistake affiliate marketing for network marketing or MLM, thinking that they’re the same thing.
And that’s probably why you are reading this blog post, to get a clear understanding of the difference between affiliate marketing and network marketing.
If you want to sell multiple products from your own website or digital marketing strategies, then the affiliate business model is for you.
Join affiliate programs and start an affiliate website like mine that can possibly bring you residual income for years to come.
And don’t forget, startup costs are insanely low compared to an MLM program or network marketing company. So, what do you think is better? Affiliate Marketing Vs. Network Marketing?
It is a profitable revenue stream if done correctly and can build a real passive income.
There are many ways to become a successful affiliate marketer, but I’ve seen so many people quit before seeing any success or earning their first dollar online.
Summary: Is affiliate marketing still profitable and worth it?
Yes, affiliate marketing is still worth it, and it can be a great business model even for beginners.
If you are someone who has tried selling online courses or eCommerce and failed, starting an affiliate business can be a great path.
This comprehensive guide will discuss if affiliate marketing is worth it, how it works, and the different types of affiliate programs available.
With so much money at stake, it makes sense that everyone from small businesses to major corporations wants to get a piece of the affiliate marketing pie.
However, affiliate marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It takes time, effort, and creative thinking to succeed in this type of online business.
Businesses must create compelling copy and content writing, persuading potential customers to click on an affiliate link.
They also need to have a solid business model in place to make money from affiliate sales.
While an affiliate marketing business model can be quite profitable, it cannot be done overnight. Anyone who wants to become a full-time affiliate marketer must be prepared to do the work.
So yes, being an affiliate for companies and digital services is completely worth it, and you’ll find out below, including my own affiliate efforts promoting many affiliate programs.
1. Affiliate Marketing Is A Great Way To Make Passive Income
Affiliate marketing is a great way to make passive income.
By simply including an affiliate link on your website or social media platform like TikTok, you can earn a commission on any sales generated from clicks on that link.
I’ve spoken with many entrepreneurs who’ve worked as freelance writers, consultants, or content creators, and everyone says that making money with affiliate programs is on their top-tier list.
This online business model is a great way to start your own business with little up-front investment, and it can be a great way to supplement your current income with a new revenue stream.
As an affiliate marketer, you can choose to promote products that you are passionate about, and you can be as creative as you like regarding how you promote those products.
I have generated a very healthy income by creating content online as a content creator. Many people don’t know, but you can become an affiliate for many products as a personal brand.
Many affiliate marketing programs are out there, so they will perfectly fit you. You can them promote them on social media and make money.
You need to factor in the commission rates, whether they offer a sound backend follow-up system, and if they have had any other success stories.
2. Affiliate Marketing Is A Low-Risk Investment
For those unfamiliar with running an affiliate business, it is a low-risk way to generate income by promoting other people’s products.
As an affiliate marketer, you typically earn a commission on sales made through your own promotional efforts.
While SOME initial investment is required to start, affiliate marketing is a relatively low-risk option compared to starting your own product from scratch.
Side Note:
Several social media platforms offer excellent affiliate marketing opportunities, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
It’s an easy way to start and make money from TikTok and other platforms with affiliate marketing.

You can use tools such as Google Analytics to track your progress to ensure your efforts pay off.
Affiliate marketing is a great way to generate revenue and can be a low-risk option for those interested in starting their own business or a brand-new affiliate partner.
3. There Are Many Different Ways To Succeed With Affiliate Marketing
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to affiliate marketing. You need to find the best approach for you and your target audience to succeed.
But that’s the best part; you can choose many ways to become a successful affiliate marketer.
How I Promote Other Companies Products And Services:
Website Traffic That Ranks On Google’s Search Engine
Free Training That Uses The Affiliate Products As A Solution
Different affiliate campaigns will be more or less effective depending on your niche and the type of product or service you’re promoting.
For example, suppose you’re promoting a physical product or digital product.
In that case, creating informative blog posts and YouTube videos is the best way to engage potential customers and get them interested in your offer.
I’ve brought in multiple sales from my YouTube channel and website, which earn money with affiliate marketing.
On the other hand, if you’re promoting an online course or something that is a high-ticket offer, running ads on popular platforms like Facebook and Google can be a more effective method of reaching your target audience.
Here are a few marketing channels you should check out when generating leads for your affiliate marketing business.
Start your own website or blog
Capture emails with an email marketing strategy
Try Google Adsense
Pick a social media channel like TikTok Or Instagram
Create a private Facebook group
Use YouTube to create search-intent videos
The important thing is to experiment and find out what works best for you and your business.
With a little trial and error, you’ll be able to find the affiliate marketing strategy that works best for you and helps you reach your goals.
I even started buying courses on blogging and affiliate marketing, which helped me start a blog.
I currently run this affiliate website in multiple niches, which allows me to earn more money with affiliate marketplaces.
I don’t own any products, I don’t have an online store, and I don’t put myself in the category of social media influencers.
I create high-quality content and promote my affiliate link to the correct engaged audience.
So why have you yet to build an extra income stream for yourself? Try this out for yourself and see why affiliate marketing is definitely worth it.
4. You Are Able To Join Affiliate Programs In Any Niche
One thing I love about making money as an affiliate is that you can join almost any affiliate marketing program in any niche.
This gives you a lot of options when it comes to affiliate products that you can promote.
You can find affiliate programs for physical products, digital products, services, and membership sites.
You can look through the offerings with affiliate platforms that provide multiple affiliate offers in different niches.
ShareASale, CJ Affiliate, and Clickbank are affiliate networks you can join to find affiliate programs.
Make sure you follow FTC guidelines and disclose that you are an affiliate.
Here are a few affiliate network platforms that I use to find the perfect affiliate product to promote.
As long as you choose products and services, you only know you can make money from them to earn affiliate sales.
Don’t choose something because it’s popular or because you think it will be easy to sell.
Do your research, read reviews, and ensure the affiliate program is a good fit for you before joining.
How To Join Affiliate Programs
To get automatic approvals on affiliate platforms, you must have a blog with search traffic or show social media channels with many engaged followers.
Once you have that, here are a few quick tips on how to get approved for affiliate programs.
Have a good LinkedIn account
Show income reports from other affiliate marketing revenue streams
Create a custom affiliate application
Email the affiliate manager and let them know how excited you are
Let them know how you promote to internet users
Side note:
It’s important to note that only some affiliate programs are available in some countries.
Some affiliate programs may only be available to residents of the United States, while others may be available internationally.
These tips will help you become the most successful affiliate marketer possible and make an affiliate marketing business worth it in the long run.
5. Most Affiliate Programs Offer High Commission Rates
If you’re considering making affiliate marketing a part of your business strategy, what kind of commission rate can you expect?
The good news is that most affiliate programs offer high commission rates. Every time someone clicks on your referral link and purchases, you earn a percentage of the sale.
Here’s an example of the highest-paying affiliate marketing programs by Adam Enfroy:
The commission rate varies from program to program but typically ranges from 5% to 40%. So, if you refer a customer who spends $100, you could earn anywhere from $5 to $40.
This is one of my favorite types of marketing since you don’t even own the product yourself.
Of course, the more customers you refer, the more money you can make.
Side note:
You can earn even more money online by joining affiliate programs with recurring revenue. But even if you only refer a few customers monthly, affiliate marketing can still be worth your while.
Here are a few affiliate programs that pay the highest:
WordPress Products And Themes
SaaS Products
Digital Marketing
High-Ticket Physical Products
Recurring Subscription Services
After all, it’s only sometimes that you get the opportunity to earn income simply by referring others to digital products or services that they’re interested in.
Many other affiliates fight over the same affiliate products. If you find an affiliate product that’s not too popular, you have a higher chance of getting approved and making sales.
Or you can create content that resonates with your audience and provide bonuses whenever they purchase from your referral link.
So to start making affiliate marketing worth it, you want to do your market research before joining affiliate programs.
By researching and finding affiliate programs that fit your niche, you’ll make affiliate marketing worth it in no time.
After you complete your research, you should have been able to answer the question: Is affiliate marketing worth it in 2023?
When Is Affiliate Marketing Not Worth It?
Now there comes a time when affiliate marketing is definitely not worth it.
When affiliate marketing is not worth it:
You’re hurrying to make money and don’t want to wait for affiliate income.
You’re not willing to put in the work required to be successful with affiliate marketing.
You’re promoting products you don’t believe in or trying to promote to the wrong audience.
You’re not providing value to your audience; you’re only in it for the money.
You’re violating affiliate program terms and conditions.
You’re not tracking your affiliate links, so you don’t know which product sells or how much commission you earn.
You buy affiliate marketing courses and expect to have overnight success.
These are valid reasons why affiliate marketing might not be worth it.
They’re just promoting affiliate products to make a quick commission.
And when affiliate marketing is done like this, it’s definitely not worth it.
But if you’re willing to put in the work and you’re promoting products that you believe in, then affiliate marketing can definitely be worth your while.

A pyramid scheme is an illegal business model where people are recruited to sell a product or service, and they earn commissions from the people they recruit.
This is becoming a regular full-time job for most people, and many companies are hiring many affiliate marketers to help them with this 8.2 billion dollar industry.

You may have seen affiliate links before and not even realized it.
Wonder how people make money online and grow their affiliate business? It’s easier than you may think.
If you’re interested in affiliate marketing, there are some beginner steps you can take to get started.
One way to get traffic is through search engine optimization (SEO) or optimizing your website for search engines. This can be done by ensuring your site’s content is relevant and keyword-rich.
You can also grow your affiliate business through social media by creating engaging content and building relationships with potential customers on popular social media platforms.
A social networking platform can include Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and other popular platforms.
Following these tips, you can start affiliate marketing with no money and grow your business into a profitable side hustle.
You can also use free side hustle apps that can get you started. Let’s dive into how you can start affiliate marketing with little to no money.
1. Write for Free Blogging Platforms
When it comes to writing for free blogging platforms, there are a few different options.
WordPress.org (Recommended) and WordPress.com are the most popular, but Medium is also a great option.
Side note: WordPress.org is free, but you must pay for a web hosting company like BlueHost or WPX. Hosting can cost $3.25 per month.
Each platform has pros and cons, so it’s important to understand how to write for each one before you start. So look into starting a blog and read this to get blogging tips.
One of the benefits of writing a blog post across different platforms is that you can reach a wider audience and direct readers to your affiliate offers.
However, keeping your audience in mind when writing an affiliate blog post is important. So, choosing a profitable niche is a must.
Remember that you aim to provide value and help people solve their problems. With that in mind, choose a platform that will allow you to reach your target market.
Use an affiliate marketing tool like Lasso to create engaging display boxes with your unique affiliate link.
You can also use AI for blogging and grow your affiliate marketing side hustle.
So, no matter which platform you choose, creating SEO articles can be a great way to start affiliate marketing with no money and build passive income in the future.
2. Start Affiliate Marketing On YouTube
If you still need to get on YouTube (the second largest social media platform), now’s the time to start and create YouTube video content.
YouTube is a powerful social media platform for new affiliates who want a content strategy with a high ROI. It is one of the best free platforms for making affiliate sales.
You can create YouTube videos around your affiliate offers and build an audience. To succeed, you must create engaging content that will appeal to your target audience.
You can make money on YouTube in many ways, but of course, the best free way would be to sell other people’s products.
That means focusing on topics relevant to your niche and selecting keywords that people are searching for so you can attract potential customers.
Most successful YouTubers are transparent about their affiliate posts, and this way, it’s easier to brand yourself as an affiliate marketer and promote affiliate products.
Once you publish a few videos, you can start promoting your affiliate offers through social media posts and earn money. Just remember that it will not happen overnight.
If you can get people watching and subscribing to your channel, you’ll be well on making money with affiliate marketing.
I’ve been on YouTube, allowing me to earn recurring revenue through affiliate programs and YouTube Adsense. This is a combination of income through Google and YouTube’s suggested feed.
3. Start Affiliate Marketing On TikTok
There’s no stopping the TikTok train. The short-form video platform has taken the world by storm and shows no signs of slowing down.
For affiliate marketers, TikTok presents a unique opportunity to reach a wide audience with creative content compared to other social media platforms.
I highly recommend starting a TikTok account and building passive income by selling other people’s products (Or even your own products in the future).
And best of all, you can do it with no money down. Sign up for affiliate programs with your favorite brands and create short-form content promoting their products.
You could quickly become one of TikTok’s most successful affiliate marketers if done right.
Many affiliate marketers have built a successful affiliate marketing business with affiliate programs such as:
Personal finance
SaaS
Affiliate Marketing Courses
Online Business Tools
Digital Marketing
Home & Lifestyle
Education
So, instead of placing affiliate links directly on your bio, you should create an affiliate site or landing page and capture emails. All you need is a lead magnet that offers helpful information.
Email marketing is a great way to start affiliate marketing with no money because you can use the email list to promote affiliate offers, product launches, and other events.
Free landing pages include:

The only issue is that you must consistently create content and find Facebook groups.
But if you’re creative and consistent, you can use your Facebook profile to build an audience and drive traffic to your affiliate links.
Here are a few tips:
Use engaging cover photos and profile pictures. This is your chance to make an excellent first impression, so ensure your images are eye-catching and professional.
Fill out your bio completely. Include a brief description of who you are and what you do and links to your website or niche blog.
Consistently post exciting and engaging content. This could include blog articles, infographics, images, and more.
Make sure to include affiliate links in your posts to start generating sales.
By following these tips, you’ll be well on your way to affiliate marketing success on Facebook.
The bottom line is that there are many ways to get started in affiliate marketing with no money.
This is the cheapest and easiest method to get started in Facebook affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing involves partnering with other businesses to promote their products or services. In exchange for doing this, businesses pay affiliates a commission for every successful referral that leads to a sale or lead.
You can easily earn affiliate income by creating content online and focusing on a particular niche market.
What Are The Benefits Of Affiliate Marketing With No Money?
Affiliate marketing with no money has many benefits, including reaching a larger audience, building brand awareness, and increasing sales. It has a very high earning potential, and you have many niches to choose from.
Also, you don’t need any money to get started with affiliate marketing. And that in itself is a huge benefit.
You can leverage AI to make money for your affiliate marketing career, which can hold many benefits.
How Much Can A Beginner Make In Affiliate Marketing?
This depends on your niche, audience, and the affiliate products or services you promote.
I recommend promoting products that provide recurring commissions or high-ticket items so you can make more affiliate sales with less traffic.
What is The Best Way to Find Affiliate Programs?
The best way to find affiliate programs is to search for them online. Many websites list affiliate programs, and you can usually find a program that suits your needs.
Another way to find a good affiliate program is to contact companies directly and ask if they have any programs available. Many companies will be happy to provide you with information about their affiliate programs and discuss their requirements for affiliate partners.
3. You can also find programs by networking with other businesses in your industry. Ask if anyone knows of any programs that would fit your business well.
What Are The Best Affiliate Marketing Programs For Beginners?
Many affiliate marketing programs are available, but some of the easiest to join include Amazon Associates, ClickBank, ShareASale, and MaxBounty.
These affiliate marketing programs have a wide variety of products or services, making them ideal for beginners.
You can also look at affiliate network marketplaces such as:
Partnerstack
CJ Affiliate
Rewardful
Rakuten Marketing
Digistore24
To get approved for these top affiliate networks faster, I recommend having a niche website or setting up web hosting to show you are legit.
Can Beginners Do Affiliate Marketing?
Yes, beginners can do affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing works for beginners; you can easily promote products without money.
All you need is a website or niche blog and some helpful content, and you can start generating affiliate sales in no time.
You want to be careful of scammers who sell you high-ticket courses and make you promote their affiliate program to get more newbies into their systems.
What is the Best Way to Build my Social Media Audience for Affiliate Marketing?
1. Use Relevant Hashtags
One of the best ways to build your social media following is to use relevant hashtags. Hashtags are a great way to get your content seen by more people, as they allow you to reach a wider audience.
When choosing hashtags, choose ones relevant to your niche and with many users.
2. Follow and Engage with Other Users
Another great way to build your social media following is to follow and engage with other users. When you follow other users, they will be more likely to follow you back.
When you engage with other users’ content, they will be likelier to do the same with your content. Make sure to like and comment on other users’ posts regularly.
3. Post High-Quality Content
If you want people to follow you, post high-quality content and build trust. Your content should be interesting, informative, and relevant to your niche.
Additionally, your content should be well-written and free of grammar and spelling errors. People are more likely to follow accounts that post high-quality content.
4. Use Attractive Images
Another tip for posting high-quality content is to use attractive images. People are likelier to stop and look at an image than read a long text block.
When choosing images for your posts, be sure to choose bright, colorful, and eye-catching ones. Additionally, avoid using stock photos whenever possible.
5. Be Consistent
Finally, it is important to be consistent when posting on social media. If you only post sporadically, people will be less likely to follow you.
However, if you post regularly, people will be more likely to take notice of your account and become followers.
