How to Start A Blog In 2025: Here’s What Works Now

What you’re about to read isn’t typical “just follow your passion” blogging advice.

In fact, I wish someone had told me this when I started: Most new blogs fail because they rely on outdated strategies from 2020.

After taking 1,000+ coaching calls and helping real students launch income-generating blogs, I’ve uncovered what truly works.

Look, I get it. You’re probably:

    • Overwhelmed by endless “how to blog” guides that lead nowhere
    • Confused about what works in 2025
    • Worried you’ve missed the blogging boom
    • Tired of trying strategies that don’t deliver results

Starting a blog isn’t just about writing content anymore.

It’s about building high income skills that enable you to sell, whether it’s your own products or client services.

There’s a significant difference. I’m not just another blogger sharing theories. I’ve personally coached students in Blog Growth Engine, observing what works (and what fails) in today’s market.

And the best part? I’ve packaged everything I’ve learned into this step-by-step guide.

No fluff. No outdated tactics. Just proven strategies that work now.

Ready to start a blog that actually makes money? Let me show you how.

This course was created by a big mentor of mine, Adam Enfroy, and I had the chance to take someone’s new blog and turn it into a money machine online.

Now, I’m here to show you a clear, step-by-step plan to start your own successful blog, just as I’ve shown +1,000 students for the top blogging course.

Yes, that’s a lot, but I promise it will be worth reading through this guide.

The Simplest Steps To Starting A Blog

How do you start blogging? You need a solid foundation.

I’m here to help you navigate through the necessary steps, including:

    • Selecting a niche
    • Creating captivating content
    • Building an audience
    • Monetizing your blog

By following these steps, you can create a business that will be around for a long time.

    1. Find A Profitable Niche

The first step to jumpstarting your blog is identifying a potentially lucrative blog niche.

    find a profitable niche

The perfect niche allows you to target your audience effectively and become an authority in a specific area, making it easier to rank in search engines.

List topics you’re passionate about to uncover a niche that aligns with your interests and expertise.

You can start to use keyword research tools like:

    • Google Trends to validate your ideas and ensure there’s market demand. Google Trends shows how often a term is searched over time.
    • Glimpse and Exploding Topics to provide consumer insights and emerging trends.
    • Motion Invest will explore existing blogs for sale, including their profitability.

    [lasso id=”536723″ link_id=”1129558″ ref=”get-exploding-topics”]

After pinpointing a niche, refine it to target your audience better and improve your search engine ranking.

For instance, if your initial idea is personal finance, focusing on a sub-niche in finance would be a great start. This could be anything in the credit, debt, money, or investing.

Try using this ChatGPT prompt to help you develop your niche ideas and go down a rabbit hole of topics.

ChatGPT prompt for finding three topics

That’s just one use case with ChatGPT, but I will give you a lot more throughout this beginner guide to blogging.

    Action List:

    • Choose a niche where you can build a brand.
    • Use Motion Invest to find successful blog topics.
    • Review what other bloggers are doing that is working.
    • Ask yourself: “Can I see myself doing this for 12-24 months?” If yes, then it’s probably a good idea.

    2. Get Your Memorable Domain Name

Having narrowed down your niche, the next step is to craft a memorable domain name for your blog.

    Choosing a blog domain name

A good domain name should be easy to remember and something you can build a brand from.

Use tools like ChatGPT and AI name generators to brainstorm ideas and check the availability of your chosen name across web domains and social media platforms.

Once you’ve settled on a unique and catchy domain name, use platforms like GoDaddy to purchase it.

Most web hosting companies, like WPX, allow you to buy your domain name on their platform, which I prefer since it comes with free WHOIS privacy.

Remember, your domain name is more than just a URL; it’s your brand’s first impression. Make it count by choosing a name that reflects your blog’s niche and resonates with your target audience.

    Action List:

    • Think of domain names that you can build a brand off of.
    • You can make it personal or corporate
    • Buy your domain name on Godaddy or with your web hosting plan

    3. Pick Your Website Hosting And Theme

With your domain name in place, the next step is to choose a hosting platform that is easy to use and has a visually appealing theme.

    Pick a blogging platform

WordPress.org is often recommended due to its extensive customization options and user-friendly interface.

You do not want to start on a free blogging platform like Medium or Linkedin for many reasons, such as never actually owning the content.

You can choose other blogging platforms like Ghost.org, but again, I am using WordPress for my sites.

As for web hosting, WPX is my top hosting company recommendation for starting a self-hosted WordPress blog on the WordPress blogging platform.

    [lasso id=”6159″ link_id=”1129629″ ref=”gowpx”]

When choosing a WordPress theme for your blog, make sure it aligns with your niche and is visually appealing.

Thrive Suite and Kadence WP are recommended for website themes.

These themes offer pre-designed templates that can save you time and effort, allowing you to focus on creating engaging content for your audience.

    [lasso id=”7357″ link_id=”1129630″ ref=”thrivethemes”]

While Kadence offers free WordPress themes and faster loading times, it does have a learning curve.

Either way, you can look at free themes from other places and choose the one you like the most.

    Action List:

    • Launch a WordPress blog and use and choose WPX as your web hosting company
    • Install WordPress
    • Choose your theme
    • Get ready to learn about your WordPress dashboard and settings

    4. Configure Your Website Settings And Plugins

Following the setup of your hosting platform and theme, you should now optimize your website settings to enhance functionality and security.

Configuring The SEO Settings & Plugins

When starting a new WordPress blog, seeing all the settings and features can feel overwhelming, but I honestly believe if you take one full day to mess with it, you’ll have no problems later on.

Here are the main settings you’ll want to understand for now:

    • Pages: This is where your static pages are (Home, About, Contact, etc)
    • Posts: This is where your articles are published
    • Appearance: Where you can customize your menus, widgets, and theme
    • Settings: Where you can change your URL structure, time, dates, and more
    • Plugins: This is where you can install third-party tools
    • User Settings: Where you can update your author image, bio, and more

So, once you’ve spent time seeing every tab, you can start configuring your settings.

Update WordPress settings to include your blog name, social signals, SSL for website security, and a Gravatar image for author recognition.

Pay special attention to your permalink structure, as it affects your SEO.

WordPress Plugins are essential tools that provide extra functionality to your website.

You can choose plugins that offer essential features without bloating your theme. Recommended plugins include:

    • Lasso for affiliate marketing (My favorite WordPress plugin for affiliates)
    • Thrive Leads for lead generation
    • Imagify for image optimization
    • Surfer SEO WP for on-page SEO
    • Google Site Kit for analytics

Optimizing your website settings and installing necessary plugins will provide visitors with a smooth and secure experience while enhancing your site’s search engine rankings.

    Action List:

    • Get familiar with your new WordPress blog
    • Get all of your WP settings dialed in

    5. Design Your High-Converting Website

A high-converting website focuses on user experience and functionality. To achieve this, build four core blog pages:

    1. Home
    2. Blog Archive
    3. About
    4. Blog Post Layout

These pages should be optimized for both user experience and SEO.

Setup The Perfect Design With Ending The Search Journey In Mind

Don’t forget to include essential legal pages like Disclaimer, Editorial Guidelines, and Privacy Policy in your website’s footer.

Using a blog theme like Thrive Suite and Kadence WP can speed up the process of setting up pre-designed templates for these pages.

Designing a high-converting website results in a visually appealing, user-friendly platform that invites visitors to engage with your content, boosting interaction and conversions.

You can also model other successful bloggers sites but don’t copy it exactly.

You’ll want to add your own personal touch to your design.

    Action List:

    • Design your new blog the way you want to, with conversions in mind
    • You’ll want your site ready for search engine optimization
    • Don’t overthink your design
    • Create or purchase content blocks/design templates for your articles so you have a system in place when publishing articles.

    6. Choose Your First Data-Driven Keywords

Selecting your initial data-driven keywords is quite honestly one of the most important parts of your content research.

    Finding Keywords for SEO

Keyword research is essential for developing a content strategy that targets your audience and improves your blog’s search engine ranking.

But you need to know what keywords you should write, which all boils down to search intent.

Understanding search intent is pivotal as it refers to the underlying purpose behind a user’s search query.

Google’s algorithms must deliver the most relevant results, directly influencing the volume of traffic your content receives.

The main types of intent in SEO are:

    • Informational: How-To Guides, Case Studies, & Long-list style content
    • Transactional: 5 Best XYZ (Product Round-Ups)
    • Commercial: Product Reviews, Comparisons, * Alternatives

There are many ways to find keywords, including using different tools.

Please remember this: When you start your blog, you want to focus on becoming an authority on a specific topic and ALWAYS answer the intent behind someone’s search.

Leverage AI SEO tools like Ahrefs, Surfer SEO, and Keysearch to find relevant keywords for your niche.

After gathering a list of keywords, cluster them into categories to build topical authority. You can use a keyword clustering tool like Keyword Insights to do this for you.

    [lasso id=”536613″ link_id=”1129631″ ref=”get-keyword-insights”]

Understanding the search intent behind each keyword is crucial, as it helps you create content that caters to various user intents.

Just a quick hack, you can also use ChatGPT for SEO and finding your keywords for you if you are completely stuck on this part.

    Action List:

    • Brainstorm blog topics that have search intent in mind
    • Create content around informational and transactional posts
    • Use keyword research tools like Ahrefs, Keysearch, or Google Keyword Planner

    7. Create Your Blogging Content Plan

Now that you have taken the time to find keywords, you need a well-structured content plan.

Build a content plan for your blog

This is important to maintaining a regular blogging schedule and keeping your audience engaged while staying consistent.

To achieve this, balance your content strategy with a mix of pillar, transactional, and informational posts.

You can start with a pillar post as the cornerstone content for your blog, then follow it with a cycle of transactional and informational posts.

Here’s an example of what that would look like in real time:

    • Pillar Post: Credit Repair Tips
    • Transactional Post: Best Credit Repair Software
    • Informational Posts: How To Send Out Dispute Letters
    • Product Reviews: Credit Repair Cloud Review
    • Product Alternatives: Credit Repair Cloud Alternatives

This approach gives you a balanced content strategy that focuses on user intents and keeps your blog readers engaged.

    Action List:

    • Create a topical map of your content plan
    • Think of new blog post ideas monthly
    • Start with a pillar post and then move on to the money pages

    8. Write and Publish Blog Posts

Creating and publishing SEO-friendly blog posts is huge in evergreen content that ranks higher on Google.

    Writing Blog Posts

Every article you write needs to be HIGH-QUALITY and offer information gain (Unique and new information that isn’t found elsewhere)

Whether writing your first blog post or 100th, you must continually increase your writing skills and use SOPs.

Use tools like Surfer SEO for on-page optimization and leverage AI writing tools like ChatGPT for content writing.

These blogging tools help with the writing process, making sure that your content is high-quality and optimized for search engines.

With a well-crafted blog post, you’ll captivate your audience and provide value that keeps them returning for more. Remember to:

    • Use headers to break up your content and make it easier to read
    • Include internal links to other relevant posts on your blog

By following these tips, you can maximize the SEO benefits of your blog post.

    • Have a set publishing schedule

    9. Promote Your Blog Content After It’s Published

Once your blog post is live, it’s time to shout it from the rooftops and get people to notice it.

    Promote your blog content

Here’s how you can make some noise on other platforms without being a social media influencer:

    1. Share your blog post on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Add a catchy headline and a cool image to grab attention.
    2. Pin it on Pinterest. Create a visually appealing pin that links back to your post.
    3. Dive into the world of YouTube. You can turn your blog content into a video or a summary using YouTube SEO tactics. This means using the right keywords in your video title, description, and tags to help your video appear when people search.
    4. Don’t forget Instagram and TikTok. Post a teaser of your blog content and direct your followers to the link in your bio.

By spreading the word across these platforms, you’ll take up more space on the internet (that’s digital real estate for you!), bring way more eyes to your blog, and ramp up that traffic without getting tangled in complex strategies.

    Action List:

    • Once you have published your posts, push it out on different platforms like YouTube.
    • Choose a traffic source and go all in so you can grow your audience other than just having your blog
    • Think about your niche and where your audience might be hanging out

    10. Update Blog Posts regularly

Continual updates to your blog posts are needed to maintain relevance and boost your SEO rankings.

    Blog post updates

To ensure your updates are effective, run an SEO audit using content optimization tools like Surfer SEO.

This tool analyzes your content against top-performing competitors and provides actionable insights to improve your on-page SEO.

Before updating your post, you should follow an SEO checklist to make sure you’re covering all bases.

    Your SEO checklist should include:

    • Checking keyword density and ensuring it aligns with current best practices
    • Ensuring meta tags, such as title tags and meta descriptions, are optimized with your target keywords
    • Verifying that all images have alt text that reflects the content topic
    • Reviewing and updating internal and external links for relevance and authority
    • Confirming that your content structure uses proper header tags for better readability and SEO
    • Testing page load speed and making necessary adjustments for optimal performance
    • Checking for mobile-friendliness to cater to users on all devices

After implementing significant updates across multiple blog posts using an SEO audit tool, consider using an indexing service like Tagparrot to expedite the re-indexing process by search engines.

This can be particularly useful if you’ve made extensive changes that substantially alter the content’s relevance and quality.

By keeping your content fresh and updated with a thorough SEO strategy, you’ll stay ahead of the competition and continue to provide valuable information to your audience, ensuring your blog’s long-term success.

    Action List:

    • Create reminders for your blog post updates
    • Use Surfer SEO or any content optimization tool to help you with your updates

    11. Start Monetizing Your Blog Content

With your new blogging site now set up, you can monetize your content.

    Monetize the blog

Here’s a simple guide to help you understand the different ways to generate income from your blog:

    • Easy: Start with Ads like Google AdSense or Ezoic Ads. It’s as simple as signing up and letting the ads do the work for you.
    • Semi-Easy: Take it up a notch with Mediavine or Raptive ads. They require a bit more traffic but can mean more money.
    • Medium: Affiliate Marketing is where you promote products and earn a commission. It’s about finding the right products your audience will love.
    • Semi-Medium: Sponsorships can be a game-changer. Partner with brands that resonate with your content and get paid for it.
    • Hard: Create Courses, Digital Products, or offer Coaching. This takes more effort but can lead to significant earnings.
    • VERY HARD BUT WORTH IT: Building a Community or creating Software (AKA: Monthly Recurring Revenue). This is challenging but can create a steady income stream.

Each method varies in difficulty, but they all share a common goal: to help you make money through your blog.

Start with what feels manageable and expand as you grow. I would like to remind you, tracking the performance and ROI of your monetization strategies to tweak and improve them over time is a must.

By reviewing these monetization strategies, you’re providing value to your audience and setting the stage for your blog to become your biggest income source.

    Action List:

    • Think about your goals and how you want to make money from your blog
    • Start with levels and keep going up one as you make more money online

    12. Track Your Blog’s Performance

Monitoring your blog’s performance is important to assess its success and make improvements based on data.

    Track your visitors

Use tools like Google Search Console and Google Analytics to gain valuable insights on website traffic and user behavior.

By consistently monitoring your blog’s performance, you’ll be able to identify areas for improvement and make strategic decisions that will enhance your blog’s success and profitability.

You can also use a Google Analytics alternative like Fathom or Plausible to track your website visitors.

    Action List:

    • Think about your goals and how you want to make money from your blog
    • Start with levels and keep going up one as you make more money online

    13. Link Building

Link building may appear intimidating, but it’s a key aspect of SEO that can help with your online presence and credibility.

Link Building as a beginner blogger

While I’m not a specialist in link acquisition, I’ve adopted certain proven effective methods.

My approach includes securing links from media outlets through services like Connectively, Featured.com, and Qwoted.

These platforms have been instrumental in amplifying my brand by facilitating connections with journalists and featuring my content in various media channels.

If you’re thinking about purchasing links, please be sure to proceed with caution.

There are reputable sources such as Rhinorank, FatJoe, and LinksThatRank where you can acquire links, but improper practices can attract search engine penalties.

Always verify the integrity of the vendors and the quality of the links you’re obtaining.

Firsthand recommendations are invaluable. If you’re acquainted with someone who has had positive experiences with a link-building service, inquire about their outcomes.

This can provide you with realistic expectations and assist you in making a well-informed choice.

Link building is about establishing a respected and reliable brand online, not just about the quantity of links.

    Action List:

    • Get high quality link placements from Featured.com or Qwoted
    • Do this on a weekly basis

How can I start a blog for free?

Consider your blog writing as a content assembly line. Start with thorough research to gather facts and ideas.

To enrich your content, include visuals, infographics, or videos. Hiring a freelance writer or editor can elevate your content quality if your budget allows.

21 Blogging Mistakes To Avoid From My Experience In 2024

Ever felt like your blog’s stuck in a rut, invisible to search engines no matter what you try? Or even hired a blog writing service that didn’t perform as promised?

I’ve been there, and it’s a tough place to be, especially when you want to attract new visitors.

I’ve stumbled on the vital blogging mistakes, often more than once, before I figured out the right path.

    A mistake in blogging

Have you been posting new content that didn’t hit the mark and wondered why? We’ve all been there, and I’m here to help you navigate it without needing to buy a course on blogging.

In this guide, I’ll share with you 21 blogging mistakes I’ve made and, more importantly, how to avoid them.

I’ve provided various blogging tips for beginners and professionals, and after you go through these mistakes, you can avoid them.

    TL;DR:

Blogging combines art and science, requiring strategy and consistency. Critical mistakes, like ignoring SEO, needing a plan, or creating low-quality content, can stunt your blog’s growth.

Stick around as we jump into these mistakes, helping you sidestep them and drive your blog toward success.

Ready? Let’s dive right in and turn those stumbling blocks into stepping stones for your blog.

I also want to share a video from my mentor, Adam Enfroy, who shares his past blogging mistakes.

What Are The Most Common Blogging Mistakes To Avoid?

Starting your own blog can be exciting, but it can be challenging. The right blogging strategy is crucial, yet it’s surprisingly easy to overlook critical elements.

I’ve been there, too, making errors that put roadblocks in the way of my blog’s growth. These missteps can slow your progress when trying to build a content-based business.

To help you navigate these common obstacles, let’s dive into the most frequent blogging mistakes and how to sidestep them.

To summarize, here are the biggest blogging mistakes to avoid to generate traffic and make money online.

    1. Using The Wrong Type Of Website Platform

One common blogging mistake new bloggers often make is choosing the wrong type of website platform. Your choice of blogging platform is essential in shaping a successful business blog. Not all platforms are created equal.

I recommend using a self-hosted WordPress site for most people starting their blogging journey. Why? Because it offers you complete control over your website and its customization.

With various plugins and themes available, you can tailor your site to your liking, optimizing it for your readers and search engines.

While starting a WordPress blog is a top choice, please remember to set up your blog through WordPress.org and not WordPress.com. The former allows self-hosting and gives you more freedom regarding website design and monetization.

    wordpressorg

Now, choosing the right hosting provider is just as critical. Fast providers like WPX and Cloudways offer excellent speed and support, helping your site perform its best.

But what if you’re looking for an alternative to a WordPress blog? Ghost and Webflow are worthy competitors.

They offer user-friendly interfaces and robust features that make them a solid choice for any blogger looking to create engaging, high-quality content that can rank higher on Google.

Selecting the right platform and hosting provider can save you time, effort, and money. It’s a decision that certainly merits careful consideration.

    2. Not Updating Your Old Blog Posts

Another mistake that bloggers often make is ignoring their old blog posts.

Consider this. You’ve already put a lot of work into creating your best blog posts, and they have the potential to drive consistent website traffic. Why not leverage them to their fullest potential?

Keeping your blog posts up-to-date is an easy way to get the most out of these valuable resources. It’s like picking the low-hanging fruit. As you update your blog content, you can see better rankings in Google’s search engine.

    Content updates are useful

Using an AI SEO tool like Surfer SEO can simplify updating old posts. It analyzes your content, suggesting improvements based on what’s currently ranking well in search engines.

This gives you a clear direction on optimizing and refreshing your content for better results.

Also, remember to monitor your blog’s performance closely. Google Search Console is an excellent tool for tracking your blog posts’ performance.

Especially look out for posts ranking on the second page of Google. These are your prime candidates for blog post updates. These articles could break into the first page with a few tweaks, significantly increasing their visibility.

Regularly updating your old blog posts can significantly enhance their performance and contribute to your blog’s growth. By staying on top of these updates, you’re maximizing your chances of success.

    3. Not tracking your analytics

A frequent slip in the blogging world is neglecting analytics and not monitoring your old and new blog post content.

This is like trying to hit a target blindfolded as you’re writing and publishing content but have no real insight into how it’s performing or where your traffic is coming from.

Using tools to track your analytics is crucial for understanding your blog’s performance and making data-driven decisions.

Google Analytics is a popular choice, offering an in-depth look at your website’s data. However, for a more lightweight and privacy-friendly alternative, consider Plausible.

Many alternatives to Google Analytics can track better and save you money in the long run.

You can still learn about GA4 for free if you need further education.

    Google Analytics 4

These tools provide valuable information about your website’s organic traffic, including the geographical location of your visitors, the devices they’re using, and, most importantly, the content they find most engaging.

Once you know which articles attract website traffic, you can focus on monetizing them effectively. This could mean adding relevant affiliate links and call-to-action boxes or optimizing the content for better conversion rates.

Also, tracking your analytics helps you understand where your traffic is coming from. Are your visitors finding you via search engines, or are social media channels driving more traffic?

This information is vital as it can guide your marketing efforts and help you prioritize where to spend your time and resources.

Failing to track your analytics means missing key insights that could help refine your blog content marketing strategy and drive growth. So, make sure to make this blogging mistake.

    4. Plagiarizing content

One of the most damaging mistakes you can make when creating content for your blog is plagiarism.

While drawing inspiration from other successful bloggers is essential, directly copying their work is a definite no-no.

Plagiarizing not only discredits your integrity as a blogger but can also harm your blog’s SEO and result in penalties from search engines.

    OriginalityAI Dashboard Eddy

Instead, adopt the approach of “steal like an artist.” This doesn’t mean stealing content but learning from the blog post topics you admire and creating something new and original.

This way, you maintain authenticity while delivering a good blog post influenced by successful examples in your niche.

Plagiarism is easier than ever to detect, and several tools help you avoid unintentional instances.

Using a plagiarism checker before publishing your blog posts can ensure your content is original.

These tools sometimes show a small percentage of plagiarism because specific phrases are commonly used.

This is generally acceptable as long as it’s not a significant portion of your content.

With the rise of AI-generated content, using AI content detectors to scan for plagiarism in blog posts has become increasingly important.

They spot copied content and can identify AI-generated content, ensuring that your blog maintains originality and quality.

Remember, originality is key when it comes to creating content. Stay inspired, but always produce unique and valuable content for your readers. It’s the best way to build a blog that stands out.

    [lasso id=”33206″ link_id=”117643″ ref=”get-originality”]

    5. Blogging Without a Content Plan

Among the top blogging mistakes is jumping into the world without a well-structured content plan.

Having a set of blog post ideas and a schedule for when to publish them (also known as an editorial calendar) is critical to maintaining consistency and building an audience.

Without it, you may be scrambling for ideas or failing to publish frequently enough to keep your audience engaged.

In my personal experience, using a Kanban system has been a game-changer for managing my blog content plan.

    EddyBalle Trello

I use Trello, but plenty of other content-creation planning systems exist. Pick one that suits your style and stick with it. It can help you visualize your workflow, plan your content, and track where each blog post is in the production process.

This has allowed me to write blog posts faster than ever.

Remember, your publishing schedule should fit your lifestyle and other commitments. Only some people have the luxury to blog full-time, and that’s okay. What’s important is that you’re consistent with whatever schedule you choose.

A content plan helps you stay organized, reduces stress, and ensures you’re continually putting out valuable content for your audience. It’s a simple tool that can make a significant impact on the success of your blog.

    [lasso id=”5649″ link_id=”117644″ ref=”gojasper”]

    6. Zero Link-Building

Many of my blogger friends need to pay attention to link-building’s importance, a common misstep.

Sure, you might manage to rank a single blog post without links, but that doesn’t guarantee profitability.

The keyword’s search intent or competitiveness can significantly impact your earnings.

The content that generates the most revenue is often the most competitive, making link-building a critical component of your content creation process.

    Link building plan for beginners

Link-building improves your blog’s visibility on search engine results pages and drives more traffic to your website.

It’s a sign to search engines that your content is valuable and trusted by others.

One effective link-building strategy is guest posting, where you write a post for another blog and include a link back to your site.

Not only does this generate backlinks, but it also helps you reach a wider audience.

Most successful bloggers will do this and build relationships with a new audience, and most of the time, the sites will push the guest post on all their social media channels.

But I hear you. Link-building can be time-consuming. Thankfully, AI marketing tools can streamline this process.

They can automate outreach and even aid in content writing for guest posts, providing you put out good writing attractive to readers and search engines.

Ultimately, your effort into link-building can pay off a big deal, raising your domain authority and increasing your revenue potential.

Remember, a business blog without links is like a city without roads that are hard to discover and navigate.

    7. Not Linking To Other Content

When building your blog, pay attention to the power of linking to other content within your site (internal links) and other reputable sites (external links). Sadly, this is a mistake that needs to be corrected.

Internal linking is particularly beneficial for two reasons.

Firstly, it helps Google crawl bots understand the structure and context of your site, which can positively influence how your site ranks in search results. Secondly, it’s a great way to keep your readers engaged.

By linking to another relevant post within your site, you encourage readers to spend more time on your blog and consume more of your content.

Building topical authority to rank higher on google

When deciding which posts to link to internally, prioritize relevant and profitable ones. This way, you’re directing your readers to the content most likely to generate revenue.

After linking to these critical posts, you can connect to other related articles to provide additional value to your readers.

You can use specialized tools designed to make the internal linking process easier. These internal linking tools can help automate the process, saving you time while ensuring you’re fully leveraging the benefits of internal linking.

External linking can lend credibility to your content and provide added value to your readers by pointing them to additional resources.

In short, having internal and external links is important if you want to rank higher on Google.

    [lasso id=”7074″ link_id=”117645″ ref=”getlinkwhisper”]

    8. Not optimizing your blog content

Creating compelling and valuable content is just one part of writing blog posts.

The other part is optimizing that content for a search engine like Google. A process is known as search engine optimization or SEO. An all-too-common blogging mistake is to overlook this crucial step.

Search engine optimization involves structuring your blog content to make it easy for search engines to understand and rank. When done correctly, it can significantly increase your blog’s visibility, driving more traffic to your site.

Luckily, content optimization doesn’t have to be highly annoying. There are several content optimization tools available that can help simplify this process.

These blogging tools provide features like viewing the top search engine results pages for your target keywords, creating content briefs based on these SERPs, and suggesting on-page SEO improvements.

These tools can be a game-changer, whether writing the content yourself or outsourcing it to freelance writers. They allow you to ensure each piece of content is SEO-optimized before it’s published, increasing the chance of ranking well in search engine results.

Also, with the help of these tools, you can optimize your blog posts more quickly and efficiently, allowing you to maintain a regular publishing frequency, which is a critical factor in building and keeping an engaged audience.

So skipping this SEO step is like hiding your blog posts in a sea of online content. Optimizing your content helps it get found and read, and isn’t that the whole point of blogging?

    9. Doing keyword research wrong

Mastering keyword research is a necessary step that many tend to trip over.

This is more than finding keywords and blog topics with high search volumes. It’s also about understanding your target audience and their search intent.

Keyword research is the process of identifying the terms your audience is searching for, and it’s essential in ensuring your content aligns with what your readers want to find.

It’s possible, for instance, to write an excellent article full of valuable information, but if your keyword research needs to match the search intent, your efforts might have been for nothing.

Understanding search intent, “the why behind a search,” can make all the difference when you write and create content.

Generally, search intent falls into one of several categories, such as informational, navigational, or commercial.

For example, someone searching “best laptops for gaming” likely has commercial intent—they want to purchase a gaming laptop.

You can use tools like Ahrefs, SEranking, Keyword Insights, or Surfer SEO to get your keyword research right.

These tools provide a wealth of data about search terms, their volume, difficulty, and how they cluster with other keywords.

Keyword clustering helps you group related keywords together, which can help map out your content and ensure you’re catering to the correct search intent.

In short, keyword research is about more than just finding high-volume keywords. It’s about understanding your audience’s intent and delivering the content they seek.

Remember, the best-written article in the world will only matter a little if it aligns with what your readers are searching for.

You can also use tools such as google trends or trendspotting tools.

    10. Writing blog posts without proper formatting

A common blogging mistake that can impede your success is paying attention to the formatting of your blog posts.

Good writing is essential, but it’s the formatting that can make your content more readable and accessible for both readers and search engines.

Formatting your blog posts properly involves breaking up your text into digestible paragraphs, using an organized heading hierarchy, and including relevant images or infographics where applicable.

This makes your content more attractive and easy to read and helps with SEO. Search engines love well-structured content and SEO-friendly headings that clearly define the content’s structure.

An AI text generator can be a beneficial tool in this process, aiding in creating well-structured and SEO-optimized content.

Also, reviewing the top-ranking websites for your chosen keywords is a good idea. Analyze their structure, how they’ve divided the content, what kind of headings they’ve used, etc. This can provide you with valuable insights to apply to your own posts.

Just remember proper formatting isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s an important component of creating engaging, SEO-friendly content. Don’t let poor formatting stand between you and blogging success.

    [lasso id=”5684″ link_id=”118348″ ref=”copyai”]

    11. Not growing your email list

Another common blogging mistake many people make is not focusing on growing their email list.

While creating great content and driving traffic to your website is essential, retaining that audience is equally vital. That’s where email marketing comes into play.

Your email list is a collection of people who’ve shown interest in your content and permitted you to contact them directly. Your loyal fans and people are more likely to return to your site, engage with your content, and even become customers of any products or services you offer.

If you’re not capturing the emails of your website visitors, you’re missing out on the opportunity to convert casual visitors into dedicated followers.

Just because someone visits your website once doesn’t guarantee they’ll remember to come back. But, if you have their email, you can gently remind them of your existence and bring them back to your site with new and engaging content.

Growing an email list is a powerful strategy in content marketing that can significantly increase your blog’s retention rate, engagement, and conversion. So, if you’re not already doing it, start building your list today.

    [lasso id=”7124″ link_id=”118349″ ref=”getconvertkit”]

    12. Missing SEO Best Practices

Any booming blog will always have best practices or training guides to follow before publishing any article on its site.

It would be best if you did the same, and you can start with content briefs and blog post outlines. This makes it easier for you to complete all SEO tasks you might have to do before publishing an article.

So, if you write SEO content, you should use a content optimization tool to help you grade your SEO score.

Most of them are the same and usually require you to do the following steps:

    • Select writing tools (e.g., Document Editor, AI Software).
    • Understand search intent.
    • Choose the appropriate blog post title and meta descriptions.
    • Decide on reference links to include.
    • Write the outline (use tools for proper on-page SEO).
    • Write the draft.
    • Add CTAs (Calls to Action).
    • Include images and other assets.
    • Conduct a first draft review.
    • Complete any missing on-page SEO tasks.
    • Perform final edits and review.
    • Publish (Force index is optional).

    [lasso id=”17252″ link_id=”118350″ ref=”gofrase”]

    13. Not Networking With Other Bloggers

In the world of blogging, networking is an often-overlooked strategy.

Engaging with other bloggers can provide knowledge, opportunities, and even friendships. Despite this, many bloggers make the mistake of isolating themselves from their peers.

You are forming connections with seasoned bloggers who’ve walked the path before you, which can be priceless.

They can provide guidance, feedback, and support as you navigate the blogging journey. You can connect with these individuals through SEO events, podcast guest appearances, or online communities.

Joining different blogging courses has been an incredible networking opportunity. Not only do you learn from the course material, but you also get to interact with like-minded individuals.

These connections can lead to collaborations, guest posting opportunities, and referrals.

Social media platforms can also serve as a great networking tool. Engaging with other blogs and their content can help create a sense of community and open doors to new opportunities.

    14. Giving Up To Early

One of the most common mistakes in blogging is giving up too early. Blogging is a marathon, not a sprint.

It requires persistence, patience, and consistent effort. The journey may be slow and sometimes frustrating, but remember, success rarely happens overnight.

The nature of Google’s algorithms means it can take several months before your blog starts gaining traction. This delay can be disheartening, especially when putting in so much effort and seeing little return initially.

    giving up on blogging

However, it’s important not to let this discourage you. Instead, you can focus on building your blog’s foundation, publishing frequently, and staying tuned to your blogging schedule.

Over time, with consistent effort, you’ll start to see improvements. Your traffic will increase, your audience will grow, and your hard work will start to pay off.

So, if you’re feeling impatient or overwhelmed, remember why you started and give yourself the time and patience your blog deserves to prosper.

    15. Choosing A Bad Hosting Provider

When starting your own website, opting for a cheap hosting provider to cut costs can be tempting. However, this is a pitfall many bloggers fall into, and it can lead to frustrating outcomes down the line.

I learned this lesson the hard way. Initially, I opted for a budget-friendly host, thinking I was making a wise decision.

However, as my traffic increased, I soon realized that a cheap hosting provider couldn’t handle the load. This led to slow site speeds and unsatisfactory user experiences.

This realization led me to switch to WPX Hosting. The difference was immediate and impressive. Not only did WPX offer fast hosting, which is crucial for core web vitals and SEO, but their customer support was also unmatched.

So, from my experience, investing in a good hosting provider from the start will save you time, effort, and potentially lost traffic. It’s an investment in your blog’s future success.

    [lasso id=”6159″ link_id=”117646″ ref=”gowpx”]

    16. Picking The Wrong WordPress Theme

When setting up your blog, choosing the right WordPress theme is important. Unfortunately, many new bloggers make the mistake of selecting bloated, complex themes that slow down their site and make customization difficult.

    Thrive Architect

To avoid this, focus on a minimum viable website approach—choose a simple, clean, and user-friendly theme while also being robust enough to grow with your needs.

I prefer Thrive Themes, a conversion-focused WordPress theme with a drag-and-drop builder. It’s exceptionally user-friendly, even for those with minimal technical knowledge, and it’s particularly effective for affiliate content sites.

Thrive Themes offers a range of pre-built, conversion-focused templates that you can customize to your liking. This makes setting up professional-looking, efficient web pages a breeze.

So, remember, when it comes to choosing a WordPress theme, sometimes less is more. Avoid bloated themes and opt for a streamlined, easy-to-use, conversion-focused option.

    [lasso id=”7357″ link_id=”117647″ ref=”thrivethemes”]

    17. Misusing AI Tools

The rise of AI tools in blogging has opened up a world of possibilities.

These tools can assist you in creating engaging content faster and more efficiently. However, one major blogging mistake I’ve noticed is misusing AI tools, specifically AI writing software.

The key word here is “assist.” These tools are designed to help you create content, not replace you.

In their search to produce content quickly, many new bloggers publish AI-generated outputs without human editing or oversight. This can lead to thin, low-quality articles that fall short of Google’s ranking criteria.

The result is that their blog struggles to gain traction, leaving them confused and frustrated.

So, remember, while AI copywriting tools can be beneficial, they are not a replacement for a human touch.

Always review and edit the outputs of your AI writing software. Use it as an assistant, a helpful companion in your blogging journey, not a replacement for good, thoughtful writing.

Doing this will improve the quality of your content and, ultimately, the success of your blog.

    18. Not Using A Blog Post Checklist Before Publishing

One blogging mistake I often need to correct is omitting a blog post checklist before hitting the ‘publish’ button.

This safety net checklist covers all critical aspects of your blog post, from your heading structure to your SEO strategy.

Using tools like Surfer SEO, you can analyze your competitors’ heading structure and adjust to compete effectively.

ChatGPT or alternatives can help by grading your content and providing improvement feedback.

A pre-publishing checklist guided by AI marketing tools can significantly elevate your posts’ quality and overall blog success.

    19. Zero Blog Promotion Strategies

Building a successful blog is not just about creating great content; it’s also about outside traffic through social media promotion.

I’ve noticed a common misstep among new bloggers: they spend all their energy writing their latest blog posts but overlook the importance of blog promotion.

There are many ways to promote your blog post. You can leverage your email list by sending broadcasts notifying subscribers of new content.

You can also use social media marketing, such as posting snippets of your blog on LinkedIn, Twitter or even creating YouTube videos that provide a sneak peek into your post.

Another overlooked but potent blog promotion strategy is Pinterest SEO. Your pins can drive significant traffic to your blog with the right keywords.

Promoting your blog effectively requires strategy and effort, but the payoff is worthwhile. Remember, even the best content won’t make an impact if the right people do not see it.

Don’t let your efforts go unnoticed. Make blog promotion a key part of your blogging strategy.

    20. Focusing On Web Design Before Content Publishing

One of the common blogging mistakes to avoid is an overemphasis on web design at the expense of content publishing.

While having a visually appealing site is important, it should not take precedence over generating quality content.

Too often, I see bloggers spending excessive time creating image assets or fine-tuning their site’s design while their blog remains devoid of substantive content.

This focus is misguided. The truth is, content is king. Without consistent, quality content, no amount of aesthetic appeal will keep your visitors engaged.

If you are not proficient in design, consider outsourcing this task or buying a template.

This will free up your time and energy to focus on what truly matters: crafting excellent content and publishing frequently.

Keep your priorities straight. Don’t let the allure of perfect design overshadow your content marketing efforts.

    21. Not Writing Your Linkable Asset Post First

A common blogging mistake that often goes unnoticed is not starting with your linkable asset post, also known as a Long List (RRL) post. Brian Dean coined this strategy, which should ideally be the first piece you publish on your site.

Why? This post serves as a cornerstone, building the foundation of your content plan and establishing your topical authority right out of the gate.

This long-form, comprehensive content can cover various aspects of your chosen topic and is a go-to resource for your readers.

Unfortunately, skipping this important step is a mistake many new bloggers make.

What I Wish I Knew Before Starting My Blog

I have made many common blogging mistakes, as shown in this blog post, but there are a few key things I wish I had known before starting a business blog.

    1. Don’t niche down too much where you can no longer pivot. Which also means don’t choose a niche domain name.
    2. Start an email list early on to capture your visitors
    3. Write content that you know about and care for. This will lead to better rankings and conversions.
    4. Don’t obsess over monthly search volume or other SEO data. These are just tools to assist you.
    5. Track everything and outsource the annoying parts of a blog.

One of the biggest things I wish I knew is that blogging is a patience business that takes time to rank. It can also take time to make money with Google, so try freelance writing while building your business.

    Why do many bloggers fail?

Many bloggers fail because of wrong advice or thinking they can make money overnight with a content-based business like blogging.

Writing articles and building authority isn’t the sexiest way to make money online, so many people tend to move on to another shiny object.

You will likely not fail in this business with the right blogging tools and tips.

What is the most difficult part of blogging?

Each stage, from setup to scaling, has its unique hurdles. The most difficult parts often include:

    • Keyword Research: This forms the backbone of your blog’s SEO strategy. Identifying the right keywords that align with your content and are likely to drive traffic can be stressful. It requires a deep understanding of your niche, audience, and SEO tools.
    • Writing: Consistently producing high-quality, engaging content that resonates with your audience can be demanding.
    • Generating Leads: Turning visitors into leads, and ultimately loyal customers, is challenging.
    • Driving Organic Traffic: Ranking high on search engine result pages to drive organic traffic isn’t a piece of cake. It involves optimizing your blog posts, building backlinks, and staying updated with SEO algorithms.

Every blogger’s journey is unique, and the difficulty level can vary based on individual skill sets and experiences. However, overcoming these challenges can lead to a rewarding and successful blogging career.

    Final Thoughts

From all the blogging mistakes that can happen to you, it’s at least helpful to know how to avoid them. This article went through every single hurdle I went through when starting my blog.

This was before I knew about content optimization tools and other ways to make your life easier as a writer.

So, take notes or save this blog post before you move on to other tasks.

Here Are The Steps To Take To Rank On Google

If you want to improve your Google rankings and attract more traffic to your website, you can take a few steps to increase your visibility on search engines.

From understanding the ranking factors that influence search results to optimizing your website for keywords and providing high-quality content, the A-Z of SEO can be complex and ever-changing.

    EddyBalle Google Performance rankings

In this post, I’ll provide you with a comprehensive list of steps you can take to improve your Google rankings and boost your online presence.

So, let’s dive into the many benefits of SEO and learn how to rank on Google like a pro.

    1. Publish High-Quality Content

Publishing high-quality content is one of the most important steps you can take to improve your Google rankings and attract organic traffic to your website.

To create well-researched blog posts that resonate with your target audience, it’s essential to focus on quality over quantity.

Focus on quality over quantity when blogging

This means taking the time to research your topic thoroughly, using reliable sources, and providing valuable insights and information.

Start by creating a blog post outline template that can always stay the same whether you do any research beforehand.

Also, ensuring that your content is free of errors and grammatical mistakes is vital, which can detract from the user experience and affect your search engine rankings.

To help with this, you can use a grammar checker tool to catch any mistakes and improve the readability of your content.

When you create high-quality content that meets the needs and interests of your target audience, you can increase your chances of ranking higher on Google and driving more traffic to your website.

    2. Focus On Topical Authority

To improve your Google rankings and establish topical authority on a particular subject, it’s essential to focus on keyword clustering and internal linking.

By identifying your target keyword and clustering related keywords and topics around it, you can create a network of internal links reinforcing your authority on the subject.

Building topical authority to rank higher on google

This helps Google understand the structure and hierarchy of your content and can improve your chances of ranking higher on the first page of search results.

To help with this, you can use keyword clustering tools to identify related keywords and topics that you can use to create a more comprehensive and valuable piece of content.

You can increase your authority with Google’s algorithm by focusing on topical authority and creating a network of internal links reinforcing your expertise on a subject.

    3. Create Templatized Blog Posts

Creating templatized blog posts can improve your Google rankings and streamline your content creation process.

Templates will help you write blog posts faster and scale whenever you need to outsource content writing for your website.

Using blog post templates and content briefs, you can ensure that your content is consistent in structure and formatting and meets your target audience’s needs and interests.

Blog post templates for higher search rankings on google

This can help you create long-form content that is valuable and informative, which can improve your chances of ranking higher on search engine result pages.

Using blog post templates and content briefs can help you save time and streamline your content creation process, allowing you to focus on creating high-quality content that resonates with your audience.

By creating templatized blog posts and focusing on long-form content that provides value and meets the needs of your target audience, you can improve Google rankings and attract more organic traffic to your website.

    4. Point To Internal Links & External Links

Internal and external linking are critical ranking factors that impact your web page’s visibility and authority on search engines.

By including relevant internal and external links in your content, you can signal to search algorithms that your content is high-quality and informative.

Internal links to related pages on your website can help establish a clear structure and hierarchy of your content while guiding your readers to more resources and information.

internal links can help you rank higher on google

External links to reputable sources can add credibility to your content and demonstrate that you have done your research.

Creating resource pages on your website can effectively build internal links and establish authority on a particular topic.

By pointing to internal and external links in your content, you can improve your chances of ranking higher on search engine result pages and attracting more traffic to your website.

    5. Focus On E-E-A-T

To rank higher on Google and improve your search traffic, it’s essential to focus on E-A-T, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness.

With the addition of the “experience” component, E-E-A-T has become an increasingly important search ranking factor that rewards high-quality content created by experienced writers.

To demonstrate your authority and expertise on a particular topic, it’s essential to focus on creating content that provides value and meets the needs of your target audience.

This can include using reliable sources, citing your research, and providing original insights and perspectives.

Establishing trustworthiness is important by ensuring your content is accurate, up-to-date, and free of errors or misleading information.

By focusing on E-E-A-T and creating high-quality content that meets the needs and interests of your target audience, you can improve your Google search results and attract more traffic to your website.

This is also important for local search results and how a local business can benefit from the new E-E-A-T factor.

    7. Understand Search Intent

To improve organic traffic to your web pages, it’s important to understand search intent and how it relates to your target keywords.

Search intent refers to the underlying motivation or purpose behind a search query, and understanding it can help you create content that matches the needs and interests of your target audience.

By conducting keyword research and analyzing search queries related to your target keywords, you can gain insights into the types of content that are most relevant and valuable to your audience.

This can help you create content that matches search intent and provides value to your readers.

For example, if someone searches for “best hiking boots,” their search intent is likely to find a list of top-rated hiking boots they can purchase.

Creating content that matches this search intent and provides valuable information about the best hiking boots on the market can attract more traffic to your website and improve your search engine rankings.

    8. Do Not Buy Spammy Links

Buying spammy links is a common practice that some webmasters use to try to improve their domain rating quickly.

However, this approach can do more harm than good. Links from link farms and other low-quality websites can hurt your domain authority and potentially lead to a penalty from search engines.

Instead of buying links, it’s important to build high-quality links organically by creating valuable content that others want to link to.

This can include guest blogging on relevant websites, participating in online communities and forums, and using SEO tools to identify relevant link-building opportunities.

Unfortunately, many outdated blogging courses will tell you to do this without knowing the terrible repercussions.

Creating valuable content and building high-quality links organically can improve your target web page and increase the UR rating.

    9. Focus on Fast Page Speed

To rank higher on Google and improve user experience on your website, it’s important to focus on fast page speed.

Optimizing your page speed can improve your website’s performance and create a better user experience for your visitors.

A slow-loading website can lead to a higher bounce rate, negatively affecting your rankings. This is a crucial factor that can impact your search rankings and your site’s overall user engagement.

This can include compressing images, minimizing HTTP requests, and using a content delivery network (CDN) to reduce server response time.

Also, you can use tools like Google’s PageSpeed Insights to identify areas for improvement and optimize your site accordingly.

By focusing on fast page speed and creating a seamless user experience, you can improve your rankings and attract more traffic to your website.

    10. Add Video To Your Blog Post

Adding video content to your blog posts can effectively engage your audience and improve on-page sessions.

By including YouTube video embeds in your posts, you can provide your readers with additional visual content that can enhance their understanding of your topic.

Not only can this improve the overall user experience on your website, but it can also help with video indexing on search engines like Google.

Eddyballe youtube embed for one my credit repair videos

With the rise of video content, Google displays more video results in its SERPs.

By including video content in your blog posts, you can increase your chances of appearing in these results and driving more traffic to your site.

Including video content can help with social sharing, as videos are often more shareable and engaging than text-based content alone.

Overall, Google’s search algorithm loves video.

    11. Improve Bounce Rate

One important aspect of ranking higher on Google is improving your bounce rate. Bounce rate refers to the percentage of visitors who navigate away from your website after viewing only one page.

A high bounce rate can negatively impact your Google rankings. Optimizing your website for mobile devices is one way to improve your bounce rate.

With more and more people using their mobile devices to browse the internet, it’s essential to ensure that your website is easily accessible on these devices.

On-page optimization is another effective way to decrease your bounce rate.

You can keep visitors engaged and reduce bounce rates by providing valuable and relevant content, optimizing your page load speed, and improving your website’s user experience.

    12. Use AI Tools To Speed Up Content Creation

One way to speed up your content creation process and improve your SEO strategy is by using AI tools.

AI copywriting software can generate high-quality content quickly and efficiently, helping you save time and resources.

So try out different blogging tools that use AI to improve your content and rankings.

    13. Check That Your Technical SEO is On Point

While content quality and relevance are essential for ranking higher-ranking pages, technical SEO is just as crucial.

Technical SEO refers to optimizing on-page and off-page elements that affect crawl bots and indexing.

It’s essential to ensure your technical SEO is on point by following a comprehensive SEO checklist and regularly monitoring your website’s performance through tools like Google Search Console.

Some critical technical SEO elements include website speed, URL structure, mobile-friendliness, and XML sitemaps. By optimizing these technical elements, you can improve your on-page SEO metrics.

    14. Include A SiteMap

Including a sitemap on your website can make it easier for Google crawlers to understand your website structure and index your pages.

    eddyballe sitemap google rankings

This can help improve your website’s visibility and increase your chances of ranking higher on search engine result pages.

A sitemap is a roadmap of your website, which helps search engines find and access all of your content.

By including a sitemap, you are also helping to ensure that all of your pages are crawled and indexed by search engines, which can ultimately lead to higher organic traffic to your site.

    15. View Performance Using Google Analytics And Search Console

To improve your website’s ranking on Google, it’s essential to track your performance using tools like Google Analytics and Search Console.

It’s easy to set up a google analytics account, and it will be something you need to view your monthly search volume.

You can monitor all the relevant keywords and see your position history by linking your website to these accounts.

This will help you identify which pages need improvement and which areas of your SEO strategy require further attention.

With this data, you can make informed decisions on improving your Google rankings and attracting more organic traffic.

    16. Perform Content Audits

Regular content audits for your blog posts are essential for any site owner. Using content optimization tools, you can analyze your content’s on-page SEO and identify areas for improvement.

This helps improve your website’s user experience and ensures your content aligns with your target keyword.

I use Surfer SEO which will allow you to run an audit for any specific keyword, and this will populate data from the top SERPs.

Then Surfer will provide you with an SEO audit that will prompt you with the following tasks:

    • Content score
    • Backlink analysis
    • Internal Links
    • Exact keyword phrases
    • Word count
    • Page structure
    • Title and meta description length
    • Time to first byte

By improving your content’s relevancy and overall quality, you can increase your website’s authority and improve your Google rankings. So, perform regular content audits to stay ahead of the competition and continuously improve your website’s performance.

    17. Build High-Authority Backlinks To Your Site

Building high-authority backlinks are crucial to improving your website’s search engine rankings.

This involves acquiring links from reputable websites through link-building tactics such as guest posting and creating linkable assets.

Guest posting is a way to publish your content on other websites with a link back to your own site. On the other hand, a linkable asset is a valuable and informative content, making it more likely to be shared and linked to by others.

By building high-quality backlinks, you can show Google you are an authority in your industry or niche.

Also, it’s important to note that link-building should be done strategically and ethically to avoid penalties from search engines.

    18. Do Content Gap Analysis

Performing a content gap analysis is a great way to uncover hidden keywords and topics to target with your content.

You can identify areas where your site lacks coverage by conducting thorough keyword research and analyzing your competitors’ content.

You can access all the keywords your competitors rank for but they need to be added. This helps you create targeted content that fills those gaps and improves your site’s overall relevance and authority.

By focusing on specific keywords and target pages, you can optimize your content and attract more relevant traffic without relying on search engine gimmicks.

    19. Become An Expert In Your Niche

After doing multiple Google searches, have you noticed that you have improved on-page SEO metrics, and aren’t you ranking higher on Google?

It could be that Google needs to deem you an expert in your niche.

This again comes from topical authority and great long-form content. You can get all the links worldwide, but you must show your expertise or experience to have a good chance of appearing on Google search.

This can lead to lower rankings and needing more chances to make money on Google.

    20. Create Product Display Boxes

Product display boxes are an excellent way to optimize your website’s user experience while boosting your click-through rate and ultimately making more money online.

    [lasso id=”6316″ link_id=”95568″ ref=”gogetlasso”]

By strategically placing these boxes on your site, you can showcase your products and services visually appealing and organized, making it easy for visitors to navigate and find what they need.

This on-site SEO technique is a great way to improve your website’s overall user engagement and ensure that your visitors stay on your site longer, increasing the likelihood of conversion.

    21. Create A Linkable Asset

To enhance your organic link-building efforts, consider creating a linkable asset, such as a pillar post or an in-depth guide that is a valuable resource for your audience.

A linkable asset can attract high-quality backlinks to your website, improve your domain authority, and increase your online visibility.

    Linkable Asset

To create a successful linkable asset, you must identify a target page that aligns with your business goals and industry trends, conduct extensive research, and optimize the content for search engine optimization (SEO) and user experience.

Creating a high-quality linkable asset can reap the benefits of organic link-building and establish your website as a trusted authority in your niche.

    22. Leverage ChatGPT

Content is king in today’s digital age, and a solid content strategy is vital for success. However, creating quality content can be time-consuming and challenging, especially if you need the necessary skills or resources.

That’s where ChatGPT comes in. With its AI-powered content creation tools and SEO prompts, you can write blog posts faster and more efficiently while ensuring your content is optimized for your target audience.

    ChatGPT

OpenAI’s content detection tools can help you identify gaps in your content and provide suggestions for improvement, giving you a competitive edge in the online marketplace.

So why struggle with content creation and optimization when you can leverage tools like ChatGPT to enhance your content strategy and take your online presence to the next level?

    23. Write Better Titles And Meta Descriptions

Creating a compelling title and meta description is crucial to optimizing your website for search engines.

You must use relevant long-tail keywords in your titles and meta descriptions to improve your rankings on Google. Long-tail keywords are more specific and have less competition, making it easier to rank for them.

Your meta description should provide a brief and compelling summary of your page’s content, using language that entices users to click through to your website. By crafting the perfect title and meta description for each blog post, you can improve google ranking factors.

    24. Perform Blog Post Audits

Performing blog post audits can help improve your search engine optimization and boost your Google rankings.

By analyzing your target pages, you can identify areas for improvement, such as keyword usage, meta descriptions, and title tags. Additionally, you can check for broken links and ensure that your content is up-to-date and relevant.

With a thorough blog post audit, you can optimize your content for search engines and your audience, ultimately driving more traffic to your site.

    25. Create Silo Pages

While this won’t teach you how to rank higher on Google, it will show you the correct site architecture to help with your SEO efforts.

Silo pages are content-rich web pages organized around specific topics, with several other related pages linking to the main page.

This helps Google recognize and categorize your content and provides a clear structure for users.

Creating silo pages can help improve user experience and guide visitors to other relevant pages, increasing engagement and reducing bounce rates.

Also, by creating a logical structure for your content, search engines can better understand the content of each page, aiding in higher rankings.

    26. Stay Updated With Google Algorithm Updates

With Google always throwing us algorithm updates, staying updated with the latest trends is essential.

    Google search blog

Keeping track of the algorithm updates, understanding their impact on your website’s performance, and adjusting your strategy is crucial to maintaining a successful SEO campaign.

I’d recommend reading their blog, where they provide updates on SEO. This ensures that your SEO efforts align with the most recent changes and are optimized for better rankings.

    27. Network With Other SEOs

If you want to learn how to rank higher on Google, I’d recommend learning from others who have succeeded with SEO.

Networking with other affiliate marketers/SEOs and attending events or webinars that provide insights on the latest trends can help you stay ahead of the competition.

Not only will it provide valuable information, but it will also increase your visibility and help you create relationships with other professionals in the same field.

After attending my first affiliate convention, I gained some tips on affiliate marketing that changed the blogging business forever.

    28. Leverage Social Signals The Right Way

You still need to finish after doing on-page optimization because you still should promote your blog content on different social media platforms.

Twitter and youtube are both great ways to do that.

I’ve gone viral on Twitter using an AI tweet generator and promoted a blog post at the end of the thread, which got a lot of traffic.

This shows good social signals to Google, and although it doesn’t provide a link authority to your post, it does encourage more people to view and share your content.

    Eddyballe twitter viral

So you never know when you could go viral on Twitter or make money from your tweets.

Video summaries or tutorials about the blog topic are great ways to keep people engaged and further explain what you wrote in your article.

Then using youtube to create a video based on the blog post, you can also get more exposure for your content.

You can then link back from the youtube video directly to your post, increasing its rankings.

    29. Make Sure Your Site Is Mobile-Friendly

Have you ever checked your website on a mobile device and noticed some content isn’t presented correctly?

If so, Google has been crawling sites that aren’t mobile-friendly. To ensure your website performs well on mobile devices, you should use responsive web design, allowing the layout to adapt based on the device.

A faster website increases user experience and improves your rankings.

This means users get a better experience, and your pages are more likely to rank higher in Google’s mobile search results.

Also, it’s important to compress your site’s images to increase the loading speed.

I currently use Thrive Suite and a caching plugin to ensure my website is mobile-friendly. Thrive Suite helps me create a more responsive version without coding, and the caching plugin speeds up page loading time, improving user experience.

    30. Run Google Ads

If you want to rank higher on Google without waiting for your content to be indexed, running Google Ads can help you achieve results quickly.

Setting up effective landing pages requires a lot of research and testing, but with the right strategy, you can quickly drive high-quality traffic to your blog.

Running ads is the best way to get more visibility without breaking the bank if you have a limited budget for SEO.

    FAQ:

How Can I Rank Faster On Google?

You will want to perform content and link sprints to rank faster on Google. This means you should focus on creating content and building backlinks as frequently as possible.

Fill the gap between your competitors with topical mapping and create a link velocity plan. Additionally, you’ll want to ensure your site is properly optimized for mobile devices and leverage social signals correctly.

Finally, running Google Ads can be a great way to quickly drive more traffic to your website without waiting for organic rankings.

Can You Pay To Be At The Top Of Google?

Yes, you can pay to be at the top search queries of Google through services such as Google Ads.

Paid advertising will allow you to appear above organic search results and gain more visibility for your website or product.

You can bid on a particular keyword phrase or multiple ones, set a daily budget, and measure the effectiveness of your campaigns.

Remember that Google Ads is an auction-based system where you may have to outbid other advertisers for the top spot.

Can You Rank For More Than Keyword Phrase?

Yes, you can rank for keyword variations, long-tail keywords, related topics, and more. Optimizing for multiple phrases related to your primary keyword phrase can increase the chances of appearing in search results.

It’s important to ensure all targeted terms are relevant to your content, as irrelevant ones can hurt your overall rankings.

Now you know how to rank higher on google, it’s your time to implement your content optimization strategies and track the success.

Remember that SEO is a long-term game, so you must be patient and consistent with achieving results.

If you scrolled down, here are my top ticks to rank on Google.

    • Understand off-page and on-page SEO
    • Create your Google search console and analytics account
    • Perform regular SEO audits
    • Understand anchor text links and keyword intent for each target page
    • Use SEO tools to help you with updates

Other than that, continue building quality content and watch the competition.

If you stick to the basics of SEO and use the right tools, you should be able to start getting higher rankings in no time.

The Different Ways You Can Start Making Money Blogging

Blogging has evolved from a hobby to a viable source of income for many individuals.

There has never been a better time to make money from blogging because of the growth of digital marketing and the rising number of internet users.

Using blogging tools and SEO knowledge, you can start building a business much faster than before.

As more people spend time online, there is an increasing demand for valuable information on various subjects. This provides a large potential audience for bloggers to tap into, from products to entertainment, even important news such as health and wellness.

Blogging provides a platform to express your ideas, opinions, and experiences to your audience and earn money from your writing.

The following are a few of the most efficient ways to make money via blogging:

    1. Ad Networks

Advertisers and publishers, like bloggers, can connect with advertising networks, which act as intermediaries.

Ad networks provide a platform for placing advertisements on other websites, including blogs. They take care of the advertising campaign’s specifics, including ad placement, targeting, and payment processing.

Ad networks enable bloggers to monetize companies’ ad materials by allowing them to advertise their blogs and make money from clicks or impressions.

By giving advertisers a platform to compete for ad space on your website, an ad network makes it simple to monetize your blog.

However, if you’re a new blogger, you might need more time or resources to negotiate advertising deals with brands.

The procedure for adverts is straightforward: you open an account with an advertising network, add the ad code to your blog, and immediately begin earning money every time an ad is clicked.

Ad networks provide several benefits for bloggers, such as:

    1. Ease of use: Without worrying about the intricate technicalities of ad sales and placement, ad display networks make monetizing your blog posts simple.
    2. Greater reach: Private Ad companies have access to many sponsors, giving you a more incredible selection of advertising and possibly increasing your income.
    3. Automated payments: Ad networks handle payments, saving you the burden of billing and collecting payments from advertisers.
    4. Real-time reporting: Ad networks offer real-time statistics on ad performance so you can monitor how much money you’re making and adjust your own blog monetizing strategies as necessary.

As a beginner, Google Adsense is the perfect ad network of choice.

Even though it’s not considered a premium network, it helps a blog get started as soon as it’s launched.

It also provides you with a service with no minimum traffic requirement. However, Google Adsense provides no real human support and displays low-quality ads.

    Ezoic

If you want to work with a premium ad network, you can choose Ad Thrive, Mediavine, Ezoic, and many more. Ezoic is one of the best premium ad networks to use when you start a blog.

By working with an ad network, you can concentrate on producing engaging content and expanding your reach on Google while the ad network takes care of the rest.

    2. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing promotes products made by others in exchange for a small commission on each sale.

It’s a performance-based marketing strategy in which a business pays affiliates for each client acquired due to the affiliate’s marketing initiatives.

Affiliate marketing is both easy to use and highly effective. You can make money for each sale resulting from your promotion by marketing goods relevant to your audience.

    Affiliate Marketing Job

The easiest way to get more sales through each blog page is to use WordPress affiliate plugins to create product display boxes.

I’ve seen a higher conversion rate for my blog and website pages.

That’s why it’s crucial to pick relevant affiliate programs, advertise products to benefit your audience, and constantly review and improve your affiliate marketing plan if you want to succeed with it.

The use of affiliate marketing can significantly increase online sales and is highly advantageous to businesses and professional bloggers, making it an effective blog monetization technique.

    Here’s how it works:

    1. Pick your niche: It’s critical to select a field in which you have expertise and interest. You will find it more straightforward to market goods appropriate for your target market.
    2. Find affiliate programs: Many businesses offer affiliate programs, so it’s crucial to pick appropriate ones for your niche and provide goods or services you can market on your blog. Amazon Associates, Commission Junction, and ShareASale are examples of well-known affiliate programs.
    3. Apply to affiliate programs: After discovering affiliate programs you’re interested in, you must apply to join the program as an affiliate. This usually requires completing a form with details about your site and audience.
    4. Promote items: You can begin promoting your site once accepted. These examples are writing product reviews, comparing products, or putting affiliate links in your blog entries.
    5. Receive a commission: When a visitor to your blog clicks on an affiliate link and buys something, you will be compensated. The affiliate program and the products you’re marketing will impact the compensation rate you receive.

You’ll want to make sure you dial in keyword research and find blog topics on which your target audience performs a google search.

This makes it easier for you whenever you create new blog posts since you are building topical authority for your website.

    3. Sponsorships

Sponsorships are sponsored collaborations between a business and a content producer, such as a blogger, in which the brand pays the content creator money in return for promoting its goods or services.

By collaborating with brands, sponsorships allow you to monetize your content and make money blogging.

So, a large and active audience for a successful sponsored collaboration is critical before applying. You can only connect with relevant brands and work out a win-win agreement.

Private Product Placement Email For Eddy Balle

Sponsorships have the potential to be a reliable source of income as long as you have the appropriate planning and execution.

Here is an overview of how the process of sponsorship in the blogging business works:

    1. Develop your audience: Having a large and active following is crucial before you can begin collecting sponsorships. Brands will find it easier to see the benefits of working with you.
    2. Find possible brands: Look for companies with the same niche as you that interest your target market.
    3. Reach out: Once you’ve located suitable partners, contact them to introduce yourself and your blog. Make a strong pitch justifying your suitability for sponsorship by describing why your audience would be interested in their goods or services.
    4. Negotiate the details: If a company is interested in working with you, discuss the sponsorship’s details, such as the payment you’ll receive and the particular tasks you’ll be expected to perform (such as writing a blog post or creating a video).
    5. Promote the brand: Once the terms of the sponsorship have been agreed upon, begin promoting the brand on your blog. This could be publishing a new blog entry, making a video, or promoting the company on your social media pages.

Note that sponsorships attract more blog traffic if you work with renowned brands.

    4. Online Courses

An online course is an example of a digital educational product that offers students in-depth training on a particular subject.

You can monetize your educational material and generate income from your blog by developing and selling online classes based on your knowledge and experiences.

    Selling An Online Course

To establish yourself well as an educational blog writer, follow these steps:

    1. Choose a topic: An essential step in almost all blogging tools and techniques. Decide on a blog topic that interests you and your audience and about which you’re informed, learned, and passionate.
    2. Establish the course: Create the course material, which includes video lessons, tests, and homework assignments. Making the course material engaging and interactive is crucial to maintaining students’ interest and motivation.
    3. Promote the course: Promote it to your audience as soon as it’s finished. You can advertise the system on your blog and social media platforms to do this.
    4. Sell the course: Once your audience knows it, start selling it. You can use a platform like Teachable or Thinkific to host the system and manage payments.
    5. Making money: You’ll receive payment for each student who enrolls in and completes your course. The course cost and the number of students who sign up will determine how much money you can generate from online courses.

    5. Consulting

Another approach to monetizing your blog and marketing your expertise online is consulting. You’ll be able to provide clients with expert assistance and advice in a specific field.

Just like the previously mentioned strategies, the first steps of the process include identifying your area of expertise and brand building. Afterward, you can do the following:

    1. Offer your services: Once your brand is established and you’ve determined your expertise, start advertising your consulting services. This can entail setting up a page highlighting your benefits on your blog or a different website.
    2. Find customers: Reach out to your network and advertise your services on your blog and social media platforms to attract customers. Targeting companies and associations in your area or industry is also an option.
    3. Provide value: Once you have customers, it’s critical to offer them strong consulting services that are valuable to them. This will assist you in retaining consumers and luring in new ones via recommendations.

    6. Memberships

A membership site can be a great way to start making money from your blog once it has acquired some popularity and built a loyal following of readers.

Membership is a recurring revenue model where customers pay a regular fee for access to exclusive content, benefits, or services.

I’ve worked as a coach for one of the top blogging courses called blog growth engine, and they run their membership through Skool.

    BGE membership skool

It is essential to identify your distinctive features when establishing memberships. Could you determine what special features, advantages, or services you can provide your members first?

A private community, early access to blog postings, early access to events, or unique content are a few examples of this.

You’ll need a platform to handle payments and membership management. You can do this by adding a plugin to your current blog, for example, a WordPress plugin, or by creating a separate website just for your membership program.

If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog, install Memberpass on your WordPress site. Make a few adjustments in the settings, and you will get a members-only area activated quickly with zero coding.

You can market your membership well and provide value to the customers for maximum benefits.

    7. Product Sales: eCommerce

In e-commerce, you’ll sell tangible or intangible goods to clients directly online.

For bloggers to be successful with product sales, it’s essential to identify the products to sell, set up an online store, market your products effectively, and provide excellent customer service.

Selling products on your online store or your WordPress blog is essential based on your niche and your audience’s interest.

This could include your products, such as self-published ebooks or courses, or products from other companies you affiliate with.

Additionally, setting up an online store is similar to a membership.

You’ll need a platform to manage your product sales and handle payments. This might be a plugin for your current blog or a separate website solely for your e-commerce store.

    My Experience Making Money Blogging

I always thought my little WordPress blog would be just a hobby, but I soon realized that I could make money from my writing skills with proper search engine optimization and an understanding of search intent.

    Eddyballe Partnerstack Rev

From creating BOFU blog content and guest posting regularly, I noticed that I was ranking for difficult keywords in the SERPs.

I then started applying to all of the affiliate networks for each blog post I was ranking on, and I started to see clicks to my affiliate links and a steady income from the sales.

    Final Thoughts

Making money through blogging has become popular and profitable in today’s digital age. As discussed above, bloggers can implement monetization strategies to turn their passion into a thriving business.

Understanding each approach can help you choose the best work for your site, audience, and goals.

Frequently producing top-notch content, expanding your following, and establishing your authority in your sector or industry are also important.

Bloggers can transform their passion into a successful business in 2024 and beyond with perseverance, hard effort, and a sound monetization strategy.

    The Money Blogging FAQ:

Is It Hard to Make Money From a Blog?

Blogging is not a get-rich-quick scheme; it may take time to see substantial financial results. A successful blog requires regularly posting high-quality content, building a large and engaged audience, and having a solid monetization strategy.

If you’re willing to put in the effort and have a passion for writing and building a community, blogging can be a lucrative and rewarding way to make money. So picking a scalable and profitable niche with a large enough audience is crucial.

There are several ways to make money through multiple affiliate programs or advertising; for instance, the list is endless if you write about personal finance, travel, lifestyle, health, or fashion.

The next step in the book of being a blogging expert is building the right target audience by utilizing search engines for optimization, social media, and other marketing tactics.

Your blog’s ability to make money through sponsored content or additional monetization heavily depends on how much traffic you can send.

Another factor to consider is the frequency and quality of your blog posts. Create content regularly with consistent premium, high-quality blog posts or videos on your website and social media.

This will value your audience, help you build a loyal following, and increase your potential to earn money. However, it’s essential to strike the correct balance between giving your audience value and making money.

This further emphasizes having a clear monetization strategy, which includes ad display, sponsored content, an affiliate program, or selling digital products, as mentioned earlier.

How Do You Get Paid as a Blogger?

Above, we have talked about multiple ways a blogger can make money blogging. As a summarization, below are ways in which bloggers can get paid:

    • Advertising: Putting adverts on your blog and getting paid when someone clicks or views them.
    • Selling goods: Promoting digital or physical products pertinent to your blog’s niche.
    • Sponsored content: Working with brands to create and sell ad space or videos.
    • Affiliate Marketing: The products are promoted, and commission is earned based on sales.
    • Subscriptions: By offering exclusive content or services to paying subscribers.
    • Services: By providing services like consulting or coaching in your expertise.

In addition to the previously discussed techniques, guest blogging is an efficient way of gaining experience and establishing yourself as a blogger.

It is a marketing and content creation strategy where a blogger writes and publishes an article on someone else’s blog or website.

Guest blogging aims to reach a new audience, build relationships, and establish oneself as an authority in a particular niche or industry. So once you understand how to do guest posts, you can quickly sell that as a service to other SEOs or affiliate sites.

How Much Money Do Bloggers Make?

A blogger’s income might vary significantly based on their blogging niche, audience size, and monetization techniques, among other variables. While some earn only a few hundred dollars a month, other bloggers earn millions. Remember that earning money as a blogger requires time and effort.

Many bloggers start making money once they’ve developed a sizable audience and become recognized as experts in their field. Also, some bloggers decide to generate income from several sources through their blogs, which can help them earn more money overall.

According to Fiverr, owners of blogs with 10,000 to 100,000 monthly page views frequently make between 2 and 10 cents from advertising on each page visit, or $200 to $10,000 a month.

Depending on the audience size, genre, and specific sponsorship arrangement, sponsored articles might cost between $25 and $750 for each piece.

On the other hand, bloggers who offer digital products like online courses or guides frequently make $10,000 or more per month.

What to Look for in a WordPress Affiliate Plugin

Before I dive into deep details, you should know what to look for in a WordPress affiliate plugin to know which is best for your needs.

    • Payment options: WordPress affiliate plugins should have flexible payment options like paying through online wallets and various pricing plans to accommodate every need.
    • Customization features: plugins that let you customize emails, designs, messages, cookies, and referral links will help you market your business better with minimum effort and time.
    • Integrations: the best WordPress affiliate plugins always have integrations with third-party apps like Google Analytics, Events Manager, PayPal, WooCommerce, Amazon, and more.

My name is Eddy, and I’ve made all these mistakes as a full-time blogger.

But learning from them has been essential to my blogging journey, and I want to show you how to turn your biggest disadvantages into advantages.

Let’s explore the cons of blogging:

The Biggest Disadvantages Of Blogging And How To Overcome Them

Let me know if this is what you went through.

You watch videos from online gurus who promise the world with simple blogging tips and tell you that you can have a successful blog by not worrying about keyword research or tell you to write about your passions.

    Blogging Cons

It’s been one year since you took this advice, and you’ve got a whopping 10 monthly visitors with zero dollars in revenue to show for your efforts.

    [lasso id=”12″ link_id=”78826″ type=”table”]

What’s wrong? You’ve been lied to and sold the dream to fund their lifestyle. That all stops today, and I’ll show you how I overcame all the cons of blogging with my own blog today.

    Let’s get started.

    1. Your Visitors Leave Your Page To Fast

You spend hours writing your blog post, choosing the perfect featured image, and waiting for it to climb the search engines.

But after all that work, you only have a small chance they’ll stick around to read your entire article.

A few reasons could be your page load time and the intro of your article.

If a user clicks on your page and it takes forever to load, you have a big problem because, nowadays, people have a shorter attention span.

You need to make sure that your website loads quick. You’ll likely lose traffic if it takes longer, and other bloggers will outrank you.

    How To Fix Bounce Rate

Fix this problem using a caching plugin like WP Rocket or W3 total cache.

These WordPress plugins will save a static version of your website and load it for users instead of loading everything from scratch.

    [lasso id=”18603″ link_id=”74319″ ref=”gowprocket” theme=”cutter”]

You can also use a Content Delivery Network (CDN) like Cloudflare to ensure your website loads from different servers worldwide.

This is essential for international traffic because it will ensure they have a fast experience on your website.

I’ve noticed a huge difference in speed for my blog, and I don’t have to lose sleep knowing my site will load just fine.

    2. You Haven’t Made Any Money Blogging

You’ve been blogging away daily, yet you haven’t seen that success from making money online yet.

You start to wonder why you even started blogging in the first place and end up quitting.

How To Fix Your Zero Blog Income Problem

To turn your blog into a business, you need to start thinking about it as one. Are you just writing content without understanding the search intent?

What products or services can you sell that will help your readers?

You must start writing about keywords with monetary value and use content blocks such as product display boxes to increase clicks and conversions.

    [lasso id=”6316″ link_id=”74866″ ref=”gogetlasso” theme=”cutter”]

Look at your competitors, see how they promote their affiliate programs and try to do something similar. You can use an affiliate marketing tool like Lasso to create display boxes.

    3. You Aren’t Getting Any Traffic

Many bloggers don’t see any results because they don’t have any traffic.

Getting your content in front of people searching for it is essential to make an impact and grow a following.

How To Fix This And Get More Traffic

You want to focus on two things to drive traffic to your blog. Many bloggers make this mistake for SEO.

You need to optimize your website for SEO to rank in the search engines. And you need to write for the user and end their search journey.

    [lasso id=”17238″ link_id=”74867″ ref=”gocontentking” theme=”cutter”]

What I mean by this is you want to understand what the searcher is looking for and give them exactly that through your content. If you do this, you’ll see more traffic from Google.

Also, by answering your audience’s questions, you could potentially rank for your featured snippets on Google.

    4. Nobody Clicks On Your Affiliate Links

You have a great blog with solid content, but no one is clicking on your affiliate links, and you wonder if people are even making income through blogging.

You might be lacking in your content marketing strategy or how you present your affiliate links.

This is one of the many tips for affiliates that I offer whenever you see a dip in commissions.

    How To Fix This

You must add CTA’s, exit-intent pop-ups, and product display boxes to fix this. When you start a blog, you must map out how to monetize your affiliate links.

This is why you need to test different things.

Some bloggers succeed with CTA’s in the sidebar, while others do better with product boxes.

    5. Your Blog Design Looks Like The Matrix

Does your blog look like it was created in the 90s?

If it looks outdated and runs slow, this can make you look less authoritative in your niche and lose the trust of your readers or potential clients.

How To Fix This Without Wasting Time

There are two things you can do to fix this. You can either invest in a high-quality WordPress theme or hire a web designer to help you create a custom blog design.

The best WordPress themes will have multiple features to help you create a modern blog design without coding anything.

I use Thrive Suite, which takes away all the hard work with their setup wizard.

    [lasso id=”7357″ link_id=”74868″ ref=”thrivethemes” theme=”cutter”]

Potential customers can review Thrive Suite’s templates on their website and see if there are any custom pages they like.

    6. You Need To Update Your Content Regularly

When I started writing content, I would just hit publish and never look back. But if you want to improve the traffic to your blog, you need to keep your content up-to-date.

This means updating your blog posts with new information, adding fresh images, and ensuring your website runs smoothly.

How To Fix This And Write Fresh Content

The best way to fix this is by setting a publishing schedule and viewing what articles must be reviewed.

I then use content optimization strategies with Surfer SEO, which has become second nature. This SEO auditing tool lets you know what needs to be updated on your blog post to improve your rankings.

    [lasso id=”6211″ link_id=”74869″ ref=”gosurferseo” theme=”cutter”]

You can also use Google Analytics to see which blog posts are getting the most traffic and need to be updated.

    7. Big Media Sites Like Forbes Dominated Your Keywords

When you type your keywords into Google, do you see big sites like Forbes, Cnet, or Nerdwallet?

If you do, this can be a huge barrier to entry for ranking on the first page. Many blogs never rank on the SERPs because they only focus on these big sites.

As a blogger, you have to learn to find new and upcoming opportunities.

How To Fix This With Unique Keyword Planning

The best way to fix this is by targeting long-tail keywords or ranking for keyword variations. These are keywords that are longer and more specific.

You can use an AI SEO tool to help you with this keyword planning.

For example, if you’re trying to rank for “best camera,” you might want to target the long-tail keyword “best digital camera for vlogging.”

    [lasso id=”18737″ link_id=”74870″ ref=”golowfruits” theme=”cutter”]

You can also try to rank for different keyword variations like “cameras under $200” or “best budget cameras.”

You’ll then want to go in-depth into the article matching the user’s search intent with the correct products and services. This will allow you to still earn revenue from your blog post on the specific keyword.

    8. Blogging Is Time-Consuming

Finding the time to blog can be difficult if you are working a full-time or part-time day job. You then start to see less competitive keywords get more difficult to rank.

This is because you cannot give your blog post the attention it needs to rank on the first page of Google.

How To Fix This Even As A Full-Time Blogger

One way to fix this is by batching your blog content. This means setting aside a day or two each week to write your blog posts.

You can use an AI copywriting assistant such as Jasper.AI to help you write content that ranks.

    [lasso id=”5649″ link_id=”74871″ ref=”gojasper” theme=”cutter”]

To simplify this process, you can outsource your writing to a freelancer or article writing agency. Give them your content plan and blog post templates to follow, and they will write the articles for you.

This will free up your time to focus on other aspects of your business, like creating products or services.

    9. You Need To Build Backlinks

You need to learn about link-building or domain authority when blogging on a fresh new domain.

It is much more difficult to rank a brand-new blog post in a competitive niche.

    Side note:

This also depends on what niche you are in. You can still rank without links for easy keywords, but with link-building, you can build authority and feel safe that you won’t lose the top SERP positions.

How To Fix This By Building Relationships With Other Professional Blogging Sites

The best way to fix this is by building backlinks. A backlink is when another website links to your blog post.

The more niche-relevant backlinks you have, the higher chance your blog post will have to rank on Google.

    Big Topic:

I know this is a very sensitive topic for bloggers on Twitter and LinkedIn, but it all depends on the industry that you are in.

Here’s what I said in a recent Twitter thread about building links.

My favorite method is creating linkable assets and turning those into value-packed pillar posts. These are in-depth blog posts that are around 3,000 to 5,000 words long.

I then link these pillar posts from my other blog posts and reach out to other bloggers in my niche to link to them as well.

To boost traffic, you can also try other backlink-building methods like guest posting or broken link building.

    10. You Need To Understand SEO While Creating Quality Content

Most bloggers fail because they try to game the system by keyword-stuffing their blog posts or building low-quality links.

Google’s algorithm is getting smarter daily and can now detect these black hat SEO tactics. If you are caught using these methods, your blog post will be penalized, and you will see a drop in traffic.

    How To Fix This

Start by learning search engine optimization and fixing all of your technical issues. This includes on-page and off-page SEO techniques.

On-page SEO is optimizing your blog post for the search engines using the correct keyword density, meta tags, and header tags.

Off-page SEO builds backlinks and social signals to help your blog post rank higher. You can use a tool like Ahrefs or SEMrush to help with keyword research.

After you have fixed all of the technical aspects of your business website, start creating quality content using your experience and Surfer SEO.

Ensure you create internal links throughout your relevant content, which will help with topical authority.

    11. Stressing Over Constant Google Updates

Throughout my blogging career, I have noticed that SEOs consistently stress over Google’s algorithm updates.

They always try to determine what Google has changed and how it will affect their rankings.

This can be very stressful and make your time blogging a lot less enjoyable if you want to make money on Google.

    How To Fix This

Stop stressing over Google updates and start focusing on your audience. Write content that is helpful and informative while meeting Google’s standards.

    [lasso id=”7273″ link_id=”74872″ ref=”getbge”]

The more valuable your blog content is, the higher the chance it will have to rank. This means more income and traffic for you.

So remember to follow SOPs and craft blog templates that you can use to write your content faster.

    12. You Might Not See Traffic For Months

Blogging takes time; many people think you can make money overnight and quit your full-time job.

This isn’t true, and you must consider blogging as a business. I recommend sticking with your full-time profession until you make more money blogging part-time than your current salary.

    How To Fix This

There are a few ways to gain noticeable traffic to your site. You can purchase other successful blogs, continue building the site, or do a 301 redirect to a new domain.

This is the fastest way to grow your blog and earn money quickly, but it comes with an extra cost.

Now, the other way is what I like to call sweat equity. This is by doing everything yourself to grow a blog from scratch. You need to be patient and consistently produce quality content. You must also build authority with other businesses and get links to your site.

If you stay consistent and get traffic to your products and services, you can start bringing in that sweet passive income from blogging.

    13. You Niched Down To Deep

The blogging world is full of opportunities, yet you ended up niching down too far and are now completely capped out on blog content.

I don’t care what anyone says, but a good blog can have the ability to pivot into sub-topics and make money.

    How To Fix This

Create a content calendar with different categories and start brainstorming ideas on how to produce content for each.

You may need to research or hire a virtual assistant to do keyword research for each category. I’ve coached over 600 bloggers, and the blogs that, to the best, are always pivotable.

    14. You Only Blog With No Other Content Creation

Many other blogs focus on one thing, and that is creating blog content. This is a great way to build an audience, but you need to catch up on other types of digital marketing, such as YouTube and email marketing.

    How To Fix This

Create companion videos using Synthesia.io for your blog posts and reach a target audience on social media channels. When I combined blogging with YouTube, my blog income skyrocketed.

    YouTube & Blogging Affiliate Revenue

This is because I could tap into a new market and audience that I wasn’t reaching before.

My Experience Coaching Brand New Bloggers Who Quit

For those that don’t know, I work as a professional blogging coach on Adam Enfroy’s course, The Blog Growth Engine.

We coach and help brand-new bloggers grow and scale their blogs to full-time incomes. The course discusses the best blogging tools and how to use them to grow your online business.

Unfortunately, while our students want to become their own boss and build a website that can become more than just a personal blog, not everyone makes it.

Many newbies quit or need to take the time to learn new skills that come with being a professional blogger.

Is There Any Risk In Blogging?

Undoubtedly, blogging has become one of the most popular business ideas in recent years. But is there any risk in blogging?

Mostly, blogging is a harmless activity that can be enjoyed in your free time—however, there are some risks to be aware of if you’re thinking about making money from your blog.

    For example:

Sponsored content can be a great way to earn an income from your blog, but it’s important to disclose your relationships with the brands you’re promoting.

This also includes talking about sensitive topics that are happening around the world and health-related topics.

Failure to do so could result in accusations of deception.

Overall, blogging is relatively safe, but you should keep a few things in mind if you want to turn it into a money-making venture.

Disclosure and transparency are key if you want to avoid any potential problems down the road.

What Are The Biggest Disadvantages Of Blogging

Blogging can be a fun and rewarding career once you get the ball rolling. However, there are also some significant disadvantages that you should be aware of before you start blogging.

One of the biggest cons of blogging is that it can take time and effort to produce new content regularly.

If you’re not careful, it can easily become a full-time job. Also, you’ll need to spend money on hosting and other associated costs to keep your blog running.

Finally, it’s important to remember that only some people who read your blog will agree with your point of view.

Be prepared for some constructive criticism (and even some trolling) occasionally.

Despite these drawbacks, blogging can be a great way to connect with like-minded people and grow an online business. Just be sure to set realistic expectations and allocate the necessary time and resources upfront.

What Are The Challenges Of Blogging?

Here are a few of the biggest challenges when I see new people blogging:

    • Not having a blog content plan.
    • Thinking you can blog on a free domain host.
    • Not having an email list from day one.
    • Not promoting your blog content on social media or to your email list.
    • Not monetizing your blog from the beginning.

These are just some of the negatives of blogging that I’ve noticed that many bloggers do.

Wrapping Up The Biggest Cons Of Blogging

Now you know the risks of starting a blog. This article has helped you to understand the pros and cons of blogging.

If you’re considering starting a blog, research first and allocate the necessary time and resources.

And most importantly, remember to stay consistent and write a new post regularly. Thanks for reading.

Writing Your Blog Posts Faster From Start to Finish

Now that you’re familiar with the importance of a blog writing workflow and the role of AI in speeding up the process, you might be wondering how to implement it.

Let’s walk you through writing your next blog post faster and posts faster from start to finish.

The process of writing blog posts can be broken down into several steps:

    1. Perform keyword research to identify the focus of your blog post.
    2. Generate a well-structured outline to guide your writing.
    3. Write the introduction first to set the tone and direction of your blog post.
    4. Write the main content without pausing for self-editing to maintain momentum and creativity.

By following these steps, you can write a well-organized, engaging, and effective blog post title.

Optimize your blog post for SEO, proofread it, and edit it before publishing. It seems straightforward, doesn’t it?

Let’s start writing an article and overcome writer’s block fast.

    1. Perform Keyword Research

Keyword research and understanding search intent are the core of creating a successful blog article or post.

It’s about finding the right keywords that your readers are using when they search online.

You might want to know the best ways to do keyword research.

First, use keyword research tools to quickly find a good mix of search volume and keyword difficulty for your main keywords and related topics.

AI tools can also help by making a topical map and determining what people mean when using each keyword.

This makes sure your content matches what your readers want, making your writing process more efficient.

AI can also help come up with lots of new content ideas.

By asking for things like: “Give me 40 different but related topics under the main category of [topic] and for each, give me 15 variations of the topic that each answer a different search need,” you can get many ideas for content.

    claude keyword research examples

Show these in a table with two columns: the first with the unique related topic, and the second with the variations, each designed for a different search need.

Once you have a list of topics, you can transform them into ‘how-to’ steps or compile them into ‘best of ‘ lists.

This not only creates more content but also ensures that it caters to different needs and interests of your readers.

By diversifying your content, you can reach a broader audience and maintain relevance in your blog.

    2. Generate A Blog Post Outline

Crafting a detailed outline is crucial for an efficient writing process.

It acts as a blueprint, guiding your writing from start to finish.

Add the headings to your blog post outline

You can write with greater focus and speed when you have a clear structure with headings, subheadings, and bullet points.

To create this detailed outline, you can use AI tools, such as an AI content brief generator, to analyze top-performing content in your niche.

Also, SEO Chrome extensions can quickly review your competitors’ headings, providing insights into how to structure your content effectively.

These tools are not only helpful for structuring your post but also for generating ideas that resonate with your audience.

With a comprehensive outline in place, you can seamlessly transition from one section to the next, keeping your writing process smooth and efficient.

    3. Write The Introduction First

The introduction is arguably one of the most important parts of your blog post.

It’s your chance to make a good first impression and entice your readers to continue reading.

Hence, it is important to pen down the introduction first to establish the tone and direction of your blog post.

You can craft a compelling introduction using a simple copywriting framework like AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) or PAS (Problem, Agitate, Solution).

    Writing intros faster

These frameworks can help you grab your reader’s attention and create an emotional connection with them. You can also use AI writing tools to generate engaging introductions quickly.

However, it’s not solely about using the right blogging tools or frameworks. It’s equally important to connect with your readers at a personal level.

By including personal experiences or evoking emotions related to your topic, you can get your readers to feel connected and keep reading more.

    4. Write The Main Content, Then Edit Later

When you’re ready to write the main part of your blog post, start putting your thoughts down. Don’t stop to fix things right away.

Keep your ideas flowing and let the words spill out. This way, you won’t lose track of what you want to say.

As you’re writing, you can use an AI copywriting tool to help you build sections of your blog and include the right keywords.

This is a smart way to write high-quality blog posts without the stress. With the right blogging tool, writing becomes even simpler.

And here’s a little piece of advice: don’t worry about spelling errors at this stage. You can use a spelling checker later on to fix any mistakes.

    Side note:

Make sure you keep the AI tools from writing everything for you. This blog post tutorial shows you how to be a faster writer, not a robot.

This means you can focus on writing down all your ideas first, and then make everything neat and correct afterward.

This approach makes writing your blog post straightforward and quick, without getting bogged down by the little details.

    5. Include Visuals

Visuals are key in making your blog post easy to read and engaging.

They help split up long text sections, making your content more approachable for your readers.

To support your content, you can add a variety of visuals, such as images, infographics, or videos. AI design tools like Canva or Midjourney can assist you in swiftly creating eye-catching graphics that fit your content topic.

By using an AI image generator, you can alleviate the stress of crafting images yourself or searching for a graphic designer, thereby saving precious time.

This means you can focus more on writing while still making sure your blog post is visually dynamic.

Always remember, an image can speak volumes. Therefore, it’s crucial to include visuals that are not only relevant but also of high quality in your blog post, instilling confidence in your readers.

    6. Write Your FAQs Using AI

Frequently Asked Questions are a great way to address common queries your readers might have about your blog post topic.

They not only enhance the value of your content but also improve its SEO ranking.

You can use AI tools to generate FAQs for your blog post.

    AI FAQ Generator example

These tools analyze existing content, customer queries, and data trends to produce relevant questions and answers.

Try to create FAQ answers that are brief (under 300 characters), increasing their potential to be featured on Google’s Search Engine Results Page (SERP) or as featured snippets.

    7. Optimize for SEO, But Keep It Natural

After you finish writing your blog post, you need to help search engines like Google find it.

This is where SEO, or search engine optimization, comes in. SEO is about making small changes to your blog post so that it shows up when people search for topics you’ve written about.

You can use simple AI tools like Surfer SEO that suggest ways to include your main keywords.

Make sure to put your main keyword in your title, in headings, and here and there in your text. But don’t go overboard because it’s important to write like a human, for humans!

Also, use easy SEO tools like RankMath.

They help you make sure your blog post is easy for search engines to understand.

But remember, while you want to help Google, you don’t want to stuff your blog with too many keywords. Keep it easy to read.

Lastly, make something called a Schema with RankMath.

It’s like a map for search engines to better understand what’s on your page. But even with all this, always write for people first.

Google likes it when your post makes sense to the people reading it because it’s all about what they are looking for and how your page helps them.

    8. Proofread and edit

After optimizing your blog post for SEO, it’s important to proofread and edit.

This step makes sure your post doesn’t have errors or parts that don’t make sense.

You can use AI tools like Grammarly or ProWritingAid to find mistakes and improve your writing. These tools are quick and make sure your post reads well.

Also, use an AI content detection tool to check if your post sounds like it was written by an AI.

If it does, you might need to change some parts to make it sound more human. This keeps your blog real and can increase your readers’ trust in you.

By doing these things, your blog post will be ready to share with the world.

    9. Format and publish with AI Assistance

Having written, optimized, and proofread your blog post, it’s time to format and publish it with the help of AI tools like Claude 3 or ChatGPT.

These AI content writing tools can assist you in making sure your content is SEO-friendly and beautifully presented in Markdown format.

Formatting with AI ensures that your blog post is visually appealing and easy to navigate, enhancing the reading experience for your audience. Here are some formatting tips that AI can help with:

    • Use AI to convert your headings, subheadings, and bullet points into proper Markdown syntax to break up your text
    • Use AI suggestions to preview your post, ensuring it looks visually appealing and easy to navigate
    • Employ AI tools to insert alt text for images, improving accessibility and SEO
    • Publish your blog post
    • Promote it on social media and other relevant channels with the help of AI marketing tools.

By using AI like Claude 3 or ChatGPT in the formatting stage, you can streamline the process of preparing your SEO content, making sure that your use of Markdown enhances the post’s readability and search engine performance.

    10. Write The Conclusion

So to have a great post, you want a conclusion paragraph that ends the blog post on a high note.

You’ll want to restate the blog post’s main points and give the reader a call to action.

This is where you tell the reader what they should do next, such as subscribing to your email list or checking out one of your related blog posts.

I use Jasper.AI’s conclusion content generator for every blog post, creating the CTA within seconds.

Writing your blog post conclusion faster

You’ll also want to add a blog post conclusion that includes an internal link to one of your other blog posts or pages on your website.

This is called an “anchor text,” it’s a great way to increase the time someone spends on your site (reducing your blog’s bounce rate) while helping Google understand your content.

Why Do You Need A Blog Writing Workflow?

A blog writing workflow is a structured process. It takes you through the steps of creating a blog post, from the first idea to hitting publish.

It’s like a map for creating content. You might wonder why you need a workflow for writing. It helps speed up the process, keep things consistent, and increase productivity.

A good workflow makes it faster to write a blog post. You plan your content ahead of time. You keep a list of topics handy.

You write blog posts more quickly. AI writing tools and templates are there to make drafting smoother. Picture being able to write a quality blog post in less than two hours.

That’s what a strong blog writing workflow can help you achieve.

Makes Having A Content Production System Worth It

Having a content production system keeps your blogging process running smoothly.

It helps you maintain a consistent writing schedule, preventing writer’s block and making sure you always have fresh content to share with your audience. But its benefits are just consistency.

A content production system also helps you meet specific marketing objectives.

With a well-structured content calendar, you can pre-plan your blog posts with product launches, promotional campaigns, or industry events.

Investing in blogging tools and resources demonstrates a commitment to your craft. It equips you with the strategies for successful content production and blogging efficiency.

A well-executed content production system could allow for the writing and publishing blog posts in under two hours, streamlining your time writing blog posts and enhancing the editing process.

You Can Include AI To Write Faster

AI has become a valuable tool in many fields, including blogging.

AI writing assistants are now commonly used to create rough drafts for blog and social media posts quickly.

This helps writers save time while still producing quality content. You might be curious about how AI can help in blogging faster.

Think of AI writing assistants as an extra set of hands that can help you craft your next blog post, offer suggestions, and anticipate your next target keywords.

This helps you keep your writing flow, push past writer’s block, and speed up your writing.

    Use Blog Post Templates

When creating content, you want to use blog post templates to help guide the writing process.

This could be a setup of outlines that you already have put together for different types of blog posts.

Some blog topics that I have SEO-friendly templates for are:

    • How-to articles
    • Product reviews
    • Product comparisons
    • Expert roundups
    • Checklists

So just make sure that it’s a skeleton outline, and then add your writing style, voice, and personality to make it your own.

    Product Review Template

    Writing Your Articles Even FASTER

Having learned how to write blog posts faster, it’s time to level up. With the right SEO tools and strategies, you can write blog posts quickly, further improving your blog post fast efficiency.

Use AI writing tools to accelerate the initial drafting process.

Voice dictation software can help you rapidly capture your first draft with less physical strain.

With its built-in SEO plugins, Google Docs simplifies adding metadata to blog posts, which is important for search engine visibility.

SEO Blogging Checklist For Quick Publishing

To streamline your blogging process even further, follow an SEO blogging checklist.

This checklist will guide you through each step of optimizing your content efficiently.

Start by integrating your primary keywords into the URL and title tag and crafting compelling meta descriptions.

Then, build internal and external links with suitable anchor texts.

Use an SEO checklist during the editing phase to expedite the optimization process.

Lastly, use a content calendar to plan your content around important dates and events, maintaining a consistent and proactive SEO strategy.

How To Generate Blog Post Ideas Quickly

    Thrive Ovation

The next tool in the Thrive Suite WordPress theme is the Thrive Ovation, a testimonial management system for WordPress.

It helps you collect and manage testimonials from your customers or readers on your website. This is essential for businesses that want to build professional online courses with real student feedback.

Thrive Ovation comes with beautiful templates and an easy-to-use interface that makes it a must-have for anyone who wants to collect reviews.

    Thrive Comments

Thrive comments is another amazing way to create an engaged community of blog readers on your website.

It comes with features like upvoting, downvoting, social media integration, and email notifications when someone replies to a comment.

You can also use it to create threaded comments so that readers can have a conversation with each other without getting lost in the shuffle.

While many bloggers have removed the option to comment completely, I would still recommend having thrive comments for blog posts that are personal or a case study.

    Thrive Optimize

Out of all the tools for sales optimization, I find that thrive optimize is the best tool for A/B testing landing pages.

It’s a WordPress plugin that allows you to split test different versions of your pages to see which one converts better.

It integrates seamlessly with thrive architect and makes creating different versions of your pages easy without duplicating your work.

You can apply real-life marketing applications to your landing page and see which produces the best results.

What do you get with Thrive Optimize?

    • Create unlimited test variations
    • Create different conversion goals
    • Get detailed reporting through the thrive suite dashboard

I’ve used it to test different headlines, layouts, images, and even CTA buttons on my blog.

The best part is that it doesn’t require much traffic to start. You can start split testing with as few as 100 visitors per day.

    Thrive Automator

Thrive automator is one of the newest Thrive Suite subscription tools.

It’s a tool that allows you to automate your blog’s marketing tasks with multiple software and services.

It’s zapier on steroids and will not only just integrate with thrive theme builder and thrive products, but it’s completely free for any WordPress website.

What can you automate with Thrive Automator?

The possibilities are endless, but here are a few examples:

    • Add customers to your email list whenever they purchase a product
    • Create webhooks whenever someone purchases a digital product
    • The ability to tag your blog readers whenever they comment on your blog posts
    • Add tags to your students whenever they finish a certain section of your course
    • Tag quiz takers who completed the entire form
    • Create an evergreen countdown timer for your paid programs
    • Create triggers for almost anything

This automation tool works and is one of the many reasons I’m a big fan of the Thrive Suite. The team behind it is constantly adding new integrations and making it better.

You can also use it to create custom workflows for each of your thrive products and visually create a map of how your automation will work.

Why Thrive Suite Is The Best Page Builder

So I’ve been using thrive suite for quite some time now and believe I can add my two cents on this subject.

I’m sure you’re wondering why I think it’s one of the best WordPress page builders.

Well, let me give you my top four reasons:

Flexibility: You can use thrive suite for any type of website.

It doesn’t matter if you’re an affiliate site, business owner, or online course creator. The tools can be used for any type of project.

Functionality: The Thrive tools are easy to use and come with everything you need to create a high-converting website. You don’t need to install multiple plugins or piece together different software to do the job.

Everything is included in thrive suite, and I even use it to create my affiliate display boxes. I used to pay for separate affiliate software to create any type of lead generation campaign.

I use thrive architect and get everything done myself without hiring a web designer or third-party affiliate marketing tools.

Customer Support: The customer support is amazing and always quick to help.

They also offer free training courses on how to use the tools so you can get started quickly.

The thrive community on Facebook is even more helpful, and you can get suggestions and advice from other content creators who thrive themes.

Learning Curve: They literally have a setup wizard to help you with the core pages you need for your website. Once you install the thrive product manager, it’s smooth sailing from there.

It will take a bit of time to learn how to use all the features, but it’s not difficult. These are just a few reasons I think Thrive Suite is one of the best WordPress page builders.

I know there are other great options, but this is my personal experience with it.

    How To Setup Thrive Suite

So you’re ready to purchase thrive suite, but you want to ensure that it’s easy to set up, right?

Let’s review the thrive product manager and how you can get started with your new thrive suite tools.

Or watch Thrive Themes YouTube Channel tutorial below.

    • The first step is downloading the thrive product manager plugin to get all the tools included with your recent purchase.
    • Next, you’ll install and activate the plugin within your WordPress admin dashboard.
    • Now you’ll log in to your account using the same credentials from your thrive themes membership.
    • Once verified, you can select which tools you want to install on your WordPress website.
    • It’s important only to install the tools you plan to use because it can feel overwhelming if you have too many options.
    • If you want to install all the tools at once, that’s fine, but I recommend taking it one step at a time.

My current Thrive Themes tech stack is this:

    • Thrive Theme Builder And Thrive Architect
    • Thrive Leads
    • Thrive Headline Optimizer
    • Thrive Clever Widgets

Other than that, it’s super simple to set up and build your first or second website.

    Is Thrive Suite Worth It?

Yes, thrive suite is completely worth it for anyone who wants to start a profitable blogging business.

Even for digital marketing agencies that create client websites, it’s an affordable way to get all the tools you need in one place.

The price is also worth it because you don’t need to pay for any other plugins or software once you’re a member. It would cost you hundreds of dollars every month just to use all the different software included in your thrive suite price.

Another great benefit is the tech support you get from thrive themes.

How To Speed Up Your Thrive Themes Website?

We all know that certain themes and plugins can really slow down your site, but you can use caching plugins like WP Rocket with your thrive themes website to speed things up.

You can also use a CDN like Cloudflare to improve your site’s loading times.

    Here are some additional tips:

    • Use a fast and reliable hosting provider
    • Optimize your images before you upload them
    • Use a caching plugin
    • Set up project lightspeed
    Thrive Theme Builder Optimization

Project lightspeed is a built-in asset optimization tool for sites using thrive themes.

It’s a game-changer and will help you improve your site’s loading times without changing your theme or plugin settings.

You can rerun optimization settings or toggle specific features on and off.

    Project Lightspeed thrive Suite

To access this feature, go to your WordPress admin dashboard and click “Thrive Dashboard Settings -> Project Litespeed.”

    Thrive Suite Alternatives

So you want to compare thrive themes to other popular theme builders and plugins. Let’s review some of the most popular alternatives to thrive suite.

    Elementor Vs Thrive Themes

    Elementor

Elementor is a great alternative to Thrive Architect, because it’s a bit cheaper and has many of the same features.

It’s a visual drag-and-drop builder that lets you create beautiful pages without touching a line of code.

Elementor also has a theme builder so that you can create custom WordPress themes without any coding knowledge.

The only downside is that Elementor doesn’t have as many integrations as thrive architect.

    Beaver Builder vs Thrive Themes

    Beaver Builder

Beaver Builder is another popular WordPress page builder plugin. It’s a visual drag-and-drop editor similar to Elementor and Thrive Architect.

The main difference is Beaver Builder is a bit more expensive than the other plugins. It also doesn’t have as many integrations or features as Thrive Architect.

    Kadence Vs Thrive Themes

    Kadence WP Homepage

It also doesn’t have as many integrations or features as Thrive Architect. If you’re looking for an all-in-one solution like Thrive Suite, then I recommend Kadence Pro.

You can create display boxes, table of contents, columns, and more with Kadence Pro. It’s affordable to get all Thrive Suite’s features without paying for a membership.

Kadence Blocks reminds me a lot of Thrive Architect, and I even made a video tutorial for the online course I work for.

Overall, comparing thrive themes alternatives is tricky.

Every tool has pros and cons, so it comes down to what’s best for you and your online business.

Should You Purchase Thrive Themes Membership Or Separate WordPress Plugins?

If you are starting from scratch, it’s best to buy the complete thrive themes suite, so you have access to all the tools.

You’ll get a lot of value for your money this way, and it will be easier to get started with everything under one membership.

However, if you already have a few WordPress plugins that you’re happy with, then you can purchase individual plugins from Thrive Themes.

Whether using Kadence, Elegant themes, or something else, you can still take advantage of some of the best plugins that Thrive Themes offers.

    Thrive Suite Review Conclusion

If you’re serious about making money from blogging, I highly recommend investing in the Thrive Suite.

It’s an all-in-one solution that will save you time and money in the long run. The team over at thrive themes is amazing, and you can’t beat the price.

After reading this Thrive Suite review, I hope you better understand how it can help you grow your blogging business.

  • Blogging vs YouTube 2024: BUT Here’s Why You Should Do Both

Blogging vs YouTube 2024: BUT Here’s Why You Should Do Both

You’ve probably been struggling with starting a blog or YouTube channel, but it’s time to focus now.

There are tons of bloggers who state that they should only blog daily and Youtubers who say to start publishing videos ASAP.

But the whole blogging community is doing themselves a disservice by not putting their focus on their YouTube channel and vice versa.

So I’ve put together this article that discusses how you should use each platform to grow a highly profitable online business.

Yes, I’m doing both, and I create content on YouTube and run my very own successful blog. So you’ll get successful blogging tips from me as well.

In this article, I will compare YouTube channels and Blogging across a range of criteria, including:

    • The difference in startup costs
    • Which one platform will earn you more money
    • Which is easier to create content for
    • The difference in traffic potential
    • And more

So if you’re stuck on whether you should start a blog or YouTube channel in 2024, this article is for you.

    Let’s get started.

    Blogging Vs YouTube Overview

Let’s go over a quick overview of YouTube Vs. Blogging and why they matter as a content creator.

    Blogging Vs YouTube

Assuming you want to grow a personal brand or become a content creator, then you should start by understanding the key differences between the two platforms:

    YouTube

    • Youtube is a visual platform that builds trust and credibility. People can see your face and get to know you better. You can show your personality more on YouTube than on a blog.
    • YouTube is a great platform for promoting your brand. This is because you can use keywords and tags to rank your videos in search engines, which will help people find your brand more easily. You can also sprinkle shameless plugs into your videos.

    Blogging

    • A blog is an excellent platform for selling products and services using long-form blog posts. This is because you can write in-depth articles about your topic, making it easier to sell to your audience. You can also build an email list from your blog, a great way to make sales.
    • A blog is a great platform for sharing your knowledge. This is because you can write detailed articles that share your expert knowledge with your audience. This is a great way to build trust and credibility with your readers.

Now that you understand the critical differences between the two platforms (YouTube Vs. Blogging), it’s time to use them to grow your online business.

What’s The Difference Between Blogging And YouTube?

To start off, you need to understand that blogging and YouTube are closely related to search intent, but they are two different types of content.

This means that people use the two platforms differently and that you need to understand how this works to succeed with either one.

    Startup Costs: YouTube vs Blogging

There are very few startup costs when starting a YouTube channel.

All you need is a webcam, a microphone, and basic video editing knowledge, which you probably already have if you’re reading this article.

Most phones nowadays offer a good camera that competes with most DSLR cameras, so there’s no need to buy a separate one.

To be more professional, you can buy a high-resolution camera for around $700 and a Lavalier mic for $20. But other than that, there are no significant costs associated with starting a YouTube channel.

Blogging, on the other hand, has slightly more startup costs. This is because you must pay for web hosting, which will cost around $100-$250 per year.

It would help if you also bought a domain name, costing you about $10-$15 per year. So, starting a blog will cost around $110-$265, slightly more than creating a YouTube channel.

Now you can still buy blogging tools or marketing tools to help you grow your own blog and make better youtube videos, but they are not necessary to get started.

So, regarding startup costs, there is very little difference between starting a YouTube channel and starting a blog.

Still, you could leverage AI to make money on your blog and save on workflow costs.

Here’s the complete pricing breakdown for both search engine platforms:

    YouTube:

    • YouTube Channel: Free
    • Camera: Free
    • 4K DSLR Upgrade: $499-$1000 (Optional)
    • Lavelier Mic: $15-$30
    • Plugnplay Mic Upgrade: $89
    • Keyword Research Tool: $4.99-$39.99
    • Video Editing Software: $29.99-$249
    • Graphic Design Tool: $14.99

    Blogging:

    • Web Hosting: $96-$240
    • Self-Hosted WordPress Site: Free With Your Web Hosting
    • Domain Name: $12-$15
    • WordPress Theme: $0-$299
    • Email Marketing Service: $9-$99
    • Keyword Research Tool: $4.99-$119.99
    • Graphic Design Tool: $14.99

As you can see, there is minor difference in startup costs for both platforms.

The only major difference is that you must buy a domain name and web hosting for your blog, which will cost you around $110 annually.

Depending on your budget, you could also look into hiring a blog writing service that might cost you $250-$1000 per month.

But other than that, there are no significant differences in startup costs. So, if you’re on a budget, you can start with either platform without breaking the bank.

    The Winner: YouTube

To bootstrap these online businesses, YouTube is the clear winner. You can even use affordable AI tools for YouTube, which makes it much cheaper than hiring a blog writer or other website tools.

This is because it’s completely free to start a channel, while you need to pay for web hosting and a domain name if you want to create a blog.

Which One Makes Money Faster? Blogging Or YouTube?

I hear this common question from beginners who want to make money online fast and become content creators.

Should you learn search engine optimization and write a blog post that ranks on Google and gets millions of views over time, or should you make a YouTube video and hope it gets affiliate link clicks?

The answer to this question is that they both have the potential to make money. But YouTube is more likely to make you money faster than blogging.

This is because it’s much easier to rank on YouTube when you publish video content on their platform.

You don’t need viral videos since your YouTube content will appear at the top of the search results during the first 72 hours.

When this happens, your target audience will make a YouTube search for your specific video.

You can place affiliate links inside your YouTube description box and send people to digital products or services.

That’s the huge difference between making money faster with YouTube. On the flip side, with blogging, you don’t need to show your face or create video content (At least in the beginning)

But if you’re in it for the long haul and want to build a sustainable online business, blogging is the way to go. I’ve been blogging for over two years, and here’s a simple overview of consulting, YouTube, and blogging.

    Youtube And Blogging Stats Eddy

Why? Because a successful blog can make money passively through affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, and selling digital products or services.

With a YouTube channel, you technically do not have complete control of your audience since YouTube could shut down your channel at any time.

This happened to many YouTubers in the past, so I think blogging is a much safer investment in the long term.

Let’s see how you can make money faster with both platforms:

    YouTube:

    • YouTube growth happens much quicker
    • Add product links immediately in your description and pinned comments
    • Your videos can potentially rank on the first page of Google or YT search results FASTER
    • You can make money passively with YouTube Adsense

    Blogging:

    Winner: YouTube

YouTube is the clear winner for this since you don’t need to waste for your blog posts to rank. With YouTube videos, you can start getting sales and traffic FASTER.

    SEO knowledge

Now, this is where blogging vs youtube gets interesting. Most people think you need to be a YouTuber to make it big on YouTube.

But that’s not entirely true. I would argue that you need SEO knowledge and an understanding of CTR to dominate blogging and YouTube.

    Best SEO Tool

    Surfer SEO Tool

    Surfer SEO

With Surfer, you can have your articles ranked on the first page of google by using machine learning and other ranking factors.

Why? Because if you can’t rank your content on the first page of Google or YouTube, then you’re not going to get any traffic or make any money.

    It’s that simple.

You need to know how to do keyword research and write titles that rank on the first page of search engines. You also need to understand how the click-through rate works and how to optimize your video’s thumbnails or blog post titles.

You can get basic SEO knowledge through free and paid digital marketing courses such as:

    • SEMRush
    • VidIQ

So, I will be honest, and I’m sure many other bloggers will agree. Most people who start a blog never make any money from it.

I’m unsure if this is because they give up too soon or if they don’t put in the effort to learn SEO and grow their blog organically.

The ones who do make money blogging are the minority. These bloggers understand how SEO works and how to create blog content that ranks on the first page of Google.

Now, I’m not saying you need to be an SEO expert to profit from a blog. But it helps if you understand the basics of SEO and how to write titles that rank well on Google.

As for YouTube, I would say that you need a pretty good understanding of SEO since ranking videos is getting harder and harder.

You must research keywords, write titles that get clicks, and optimize your video’s thumbnail. If you can do all these things, you will be well on making money from YouTube

Here’s my personal experience with SEO on both platforms.

It took about a year to see the most growth and finally have a profitable blog, but with YouTube, I started creating videos and making money through affiliate marketing.

It depended on how much traffic I needed, but it was more based on the target audience.

I still needed to do basic keyword research and see what people were searching for on YouTube, but I didn’t need to spend as much time on SEO since my videos were ranking pretty well.

That’s the biggest difference between YouTube and blogging on SEO.

    Winner: Blogging

Since you can control the outcome and change your content structure, SEO is much better on Google compared to YouTube SEO.

    Biggest Learning Curves

Let’s get straight to the point on some things you will need to learn with blogging vs youtube.

What You Need To Know For Blogging

To be a successful blogger, you must learn SEO, copywriting, design, and outreach.

I’m saying this because most bloggers start out without any knowledge of these things. They start writing and hope that people will find their blog.

But you will need to learn the search intent behind why people even make a Google search in the first place. Then, you can start writing blog posts with AI.

Once you understand the difference between blog post outlines such as:

    • How To’s
    • Product Reviews
    • Listicles
    • Case Studies

You then can start writing and ranking your content.

You must learn copywriting to keep people on your website and read your blog posts.

The average person has an attention span of 8 seconds, so you need to make sure that your blog post titles, meta descriptions, and first sentence Hooks them in.

Use Jasper.ai or any AI writing assistant to help you with upping your writing skills.

You’ll also want to learn how to run our self-hosted blog on a WordPress hosting platform like WPX.

What You Need To Know For YouTube

You don’t need to be a great writer on YouTube, but you must be good at talking in front of the camera and keeping people’s attention.

You must also learn basic video editing skills to edit your videos. I recommend using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, or Filmora.

The video quality needs to be decent, but you’ll want to ensure you have amazing audio quality. I use the Rode VideoMic Pro Plus and the Blue Yeti microphone.

You’ll also need to learn how to rank your videos on YouTube and Google. This can be done by doing keyword research, using proper tags, creating transcripts of your videos, and optimizing your thumbnail image.

    Key takeaway:

Both YouTube and blogging have learning curves, and can take quite a while to earn money online, but you can make passive income from both if you stick with them long enough.

    Blogging Community Vs YouTube Community

YouTube and blogging communities offer very different experiences for their users.

    YouTube Community Overview

YouTube is a primarily visual platform, while blogging is predominantly text-based. As a result, the kinds of content that are popular on each platform differ somewhat.

However, both platforms offer users a friendly and resourceful community to explore. YouTube is a great place to find videos on almost any imaginable topic.

If you’re looking for how-to videos, product reviews, or something entertaining, YouTube has it all.

The YouTube community is also very friendly and helpful, with users often leaving comments and likes to show their support for creators. In addition, YouTube is an excellent resource for learning new skills or knowledge.

There are videos on almost everything, so you can almost certainly find what you’re looking for.

    Blogging Community Overview

Blogging is a little different from YouTube in that it’s primarily text-based. However, blogs are exciting and engaging.

On the contrary, many bloggers put a lot of effort into making their posts exciting and enjoyable to read.

Additionally, the blogging community is amicable and supportive. Bloggers will support each other and give updates on any new algorithm updates.

    Key takeaway:

While both have some toxic people, for the most part, both blogging and YouTube creators are supportive and helpful to each other. It would be more fun to be a content creator in either community than alone.

How Much Money I Make As A YouTuber And Blogger

Many of you wonder how much money I make as a full-time blogger and YouTube creator.

I won’t give you an exact number, but it’s enough to live comfortably in California.

I make the majority of my income through Consulting and affiliate marketing

It does go over $10,000 per month, and I do want to share income reports in the future, but for now, I just wanted to give you an idea of how much money is possible to make.

Of course, this isn’t to say everyone will make this much money. It took me two years of hard work to get to where I am today.

Here’s my breakdown through both platforms:

    • YouTube Ad Networks
    • Affiliate Marketing
    • Free Courses
    • CPA Deals

So if you’re considering starting a YouTube channel or writing content through the WordPress platform. Start now.

Two Birds With One Stone Using Blog Posts

My favorite way to use both platforms is by using blog posts.

I’ll create a blog post on my website, and then I’ll create a video on YouTube to go along with it. This way I can kill two birds with one stone.

Not only will I have SEO-friendly content, but I can use it as a YouTube script. This helps me save time and produce content more efficiently.

Plus, I get the benefit of having my content seen by both audiences and sometimes rank both on Google searches.

Making money online doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, you can start earning passive income with just a few hours of work per week.

If you’re consistent and patient, you can make a full-time income from both YouTube and blogging.

    FAQs

I’m sure some of you have the same question, so I wanted to answer them here.

Is Blogging More Profitable Then Having A YouTube Channel?

It depends on how you monetize your platform.

If you’re only making money through YouTube ad revenue, then most likely, yes. However, using other methods, such as affiliate marketing or selling products, you’ll see a quicker ROI with YouTube.

Blogging will take longer, but it’s completely worth the investment.

Which Should You Start First? A Youtube Channel or Blog?

This depends on whether you feel comfortable writing or being on camera.

If you’re more comfortable writing, then start a blog. If you’re more comfortable being on camera, start a YouTube channel.

Of course, you can always do both.

Are Bloggers Still Even A Thing?

Yes, blogging is still a thing and will always be a thing.

More and more companies are looking to establish organic reach, and what better way to do that than through a blog that ranks number one on search engines?

    Best Theme Builder For Bloggers

    Thrive Suite By Thrive Themes

    Install on 5 websites

Thrive Thrives Membership (Thrive Suite) is the all-in-one theme builder I use to run this blog. Create specific pages for specific categories easily.

We earn a commission if you make a purchase, at no additional cost to you.

Not to mention, Google and YouTube are owned by the same company, which makes sense to have both. This means that they’re going to continue favoring blogs in their algorithm.

Can YouTube be used for blogging?

YouTube can be used for blogging in many ways. For starters, you can use YouTube user signals such as viewer engagement to gauge whether or not a particular topic is worth discussing further on your blog or YouTube channel.

You can also place affiliate links in the video descriptions that link back to relevant content on your blog.

Also, you can use YouTube videos to enhance the content of your blog posts by providing visual examples or demonstrations of topics that may be difficult to explain through text alone.

Ultimately, YouTube can be an effective tool for bloggers looking to create engaging and high-quality content.

    Final Thoughts: YouTube Vs Blogging

Both blogging and being a YouTuber have their pros and cons.

It comes down to what you’re more comfortable with and your goals.

Are you looking to build a personal brand? If so, then I recommend using both platforms.

I regret not creating a better content plan when I first started, and I would be much further along if I had just stopped worrying about what to begin with.

But what’s great about starting today is that you can learn from my mistakes in blogging and YouTube.

So, if you’re considering starting a YouTube channel or writing content through the WordPress platform, start now.

It’s one of the best blog tools for affiliate websites because it makes it so easy to promote affiliate products on your WordPress blog.

One solid feature Lasso has is its Google Analytics integration, which shows you the click-through rate of your affiliate links.

    The Best Keyword Research Platforms

    19. Ahrefs

    Ahrefs

Ahrefs is one of the best keyword research tools on the market.

I use Ahrefs to find low-competition keywords and bottom-of-funnel content ideas to rank my blog articles.

Ahrefs also allows you to see the estimated organic traffic and search volume for each keyword, which is helpful when trying to determine which keywords are worth targeting.

It’s helped me drive a lot of organic traffic to my website and I’m able to find new blogging ideas without any stress.

This keyword research tool let’s see me:

    • Search volume
    • Competitor’s backlinks
    • My own site’s performance
    • How competitive a keyword is from 0 to 100
    • The strength of my overall website

It’s overwhelming initially, but if you want more readers to find your site through SEO, then this is a tool you want in your arsenal.

    20. SEMrush

    Semrush

SEMrush is my favorite competitor analysis tool and, yes, a keyword research platform.

You can also use SEMrush as a social media marketing tool to help you with your blog promotion.

You can view what’s being searched for and what’s happening on social media in real-time.

    21. Lowfruits.io

    LowFruits

Lowfruits IO finds low-hanging fruit keywords for you that your competitors are not targeting.

It’s a great tool if you’re just starting with SEO and looking for quick wins.

It will analyze user-generated content, social media, and even YouTube to find you the best keywords to target.

    22. UberSuggest

    UberSuggest

Ubersuggest is an excellent blogging tool that is much more affordable than Ahrefs or SEMrush.

It only has some of the bells and whistles that those two tools offer, but it’s an excellent tool for starting your SEO journey.

These are a few of my favorite blogging tools for keyword research that will be helpful in 2023.

    25. Convertkit

    ConvertKit

Convertkit is the best email marketing tool for bloggers.
