    Frequently Asked Questions

Will AI Writing Replace Content Writers?

AI is becoming increasingly sophisticated and used for various tasks, including creating marketing materials and serving as a customer service agent.

However, there are several reasons why content writers don’t have to worry about being replaced by AI anytime soon.

For one thing, AI still needs humans’ creativity and flexibility. A good content writer can capture a brand’s voice and communicate with its target audience engagingly and effectively.

AI cannot replicate the human touch essential to good content. Content that resonates with readers emotionally is more likely to be successful than informative content.

And while AI may generate emotionless content, it’s not yet able to create content that will genuinely connect with readers on a human level.

So, the bottom line is that while some of the best AI writing tools may someday be able to generate content of premium quality, it’s unlikely to replace human content writers completely.

After all, when creating good content, there must still be a substitute for the human touch.

Can I use AI to write a book?

Yes, an AI content generator can be used to write a book. However, it is essential to note that AI cannot yet write a book independently; it still requires human input and supervision.

    Jasper AI writing book challenge

Nevertheless, AI can be a valuable tool for writers, helping them generate ideas, plan plots, and do some initial writing.

In the future, AI will likely play an increasingly important role in writing as it continues to evolve and become more sophisticated.

Are AI writing tools Good For SEO?

AI content writing tools can help improve your SEO.

However, it is essential to remember that they are just one part of a comprehensive SEO strategy.

To truly see the benefits of using AI writing tools, you must ensure that you also do other things to optimize your website and content for search engines.

But if you use AI writing tools properly, they can be a valuable asset in your SEO arsenal.

    Why Create Digital Products?

Creating digital products is one of the best online business models to try out and can generate passive income for years.

    Digital Products = Revenue

Not only are digital products easy and inexpensive to create, but they can be sold repeatedly without additional costs. You make the product once and then reap the benefits (and profits) for years.

That’s precisely what you’ll learn in this digital creation guide. So strap in and take notes because you’ll come out with a digital product idea to launch in no time.

What Are The Best Digital Product Ideas To Sell Online?

When I created my first digital product, I wasn’t sure which type of content to create.

Here’s a quick overview of the most profitable digital products to create for your website or online store.

Use this as inspiration for your own productized business.

    1. eBooks
    2. Online Courses
    3. Membership Sites
    4. PDF Worksheets or Templates
    5. Software or Apps
    6. Stock Photos or Graphics
    7. Physical Products with a Digital Component
    8. Consultation or Online Services
    9. Digital Art
    10. Digital Downloads such as video courses

Now that you know the digital items you can create, it’s time to open up your services online. This is the beginning of a new start for your own online business.

How To Create Digital Products In Five Simple Steps

Let’s continue with this guide if you’re ready to make money online and open yourself to a vast buyers market.

    1. Check the demand

First, you should ensure a target market for what you want to sell online.

I’ve heard horror stories of digital creators creating an online course or membership site to find out they get no sales, waste time, and think that digital marketing is a scam.

Here are a few methods for searching for product demand:

    Google Trends

The huge digital goods and downloads market can be dreadful to research, but Google Trends is a great tool to help you understand product demand.

Enter a keyword or phrase related to your product, and Google will show you how often that term has been searched over time. You can also see how searches vary by region, allowing you to tailor your marketing efforts accordingly.

    Google Trends

Also, Google Trends can help you compare demand for different products, giving insight into which ones are most popular with consumers.

With this valuable information at your fingertips, you’ll be able to make informed decisions about what digital products to develop and market, ensuring that your business stays ahead of the curve.

    Search Online Marketplaces

Not many people have thought of this, but I love finding potential opportunities through marketplaces like Appsumo or Product Hunt.

    Appsumo digtial

These and other eCommerce platforms promote digital items currently popular and in demand by potential customers.

This is an excellent way to get ideas for new products or services and a feel for what’s selling well online.

    Your Email List

If you’ve built an active email list, this is a great way to gauge demand for new products.

You can send out a survey to your list or use a tool like Google Forms to get feedback from subscribers about what type of product or service they would be interested in purchasing.

    [lasso id=”7124″ link_id=”77255″ ref=”getconvertkit” theme=”geek”]

This is an excellent method since you’re getting direct feedback from people who have already shown an interest in your potential offer.

    Social Media Comments

One of my favorite and sneaky ways to find underserved ideas is going to youtube comments and looking for people asking questions that haven’t been answered yet.

    Side note:

This can work on all social media platforms, such as Instagram and TikTok.

This is a fantastic way to get ideas for content that you can turn into digital products since you know an audience is searching for it.

    2. Create A Free Lead Magnet Worth Buying

    product mockup EddyBalle Blogging tool

One of the biggest misconceptions is lead magnets. Many marketers love them or think they’re a huge pain.

If you want to make money online with digital products, you need an audience. And the best way to get an audience is by offering something of value for free in exchange for an email address.

This could be a PDF report, cheat sheet, video training, or mini-course. You can also come up with your digital product ideas using Jasper.ai.

Many creators have made money with AI and creating digital lead magnets.

    [lasso id=”5649″ link_id=”77256″ ref=”gojasper” theme=”geek”]

The key is ensuring your freebie is high quality and closely related to the digital product you’re selling.

For example, if you plan on selling an online course on copywriting, your lead magnet could be a PDF report on the ten best copywriting tips.

Keep this in mind when you create digital products.

    3. Start Building Your Digital Product Offer

Now it’s time to create your outline for the digital product you will sell.

This is where the demand research you did in step one comes into play. You should have a pretty good idea of what people want and are willing to pay for.

    Related:

You can also learn how to create mockups for your online products in this blog post.

When creating your offer, you’ll want to follow these steps:

    1. A Welcome Video
    2. What They Will Learn
    3. The Content
    4. Recapping Everything, They Learned
    5. Wrapping Up

This goes for anything when selling digital products online, including downloadable guides, templates, and video courses.

    4. Create Your Sales Funnel Process

Now it’s time to create your automated sales funnel.

    Eddy’s Definition:

A sales funnel the process that takes a potential customer from awareness to purchase.

The goal of any sales funnel is to move people through the stages of your funnel until they reach the point of purchase.

I usually recommend using a sales funnel builder, but you can host your funnel pages on your website, such as Woocommerce or other blogging resources.

Other websites can help you build a sales process, such as:

    • Thrivecart
    • Clickfunnels 2.0
    • Shopify
    • Kajabi
    • Podia
    • Sendowl
    • Easy Digital Downloads

    5. Create An Email Sequence For Those That Didn’t Purchase Upfront

You’ve created a digital product and found a huge market. People are interested, and you’re making sales. But what about the people that didn’t purchase upfront? How can you create a sequence of emails that will gently nudge them towards your product?

    Digital Product Funnel

The first step is to create an email sequence that offers value. This could be in the form of tips, tricks, or helpful information about your product. You want to make sure that your audience sees you as an expert in your field and that they can trust you to provide quality information.

The second step is to create a sense of urgency. You want your readers to feel like they need your product in their lives. This could be in the form of a special offer or discount for those that purchase within a certain timeframe. You want to ensure that your offer is compelling enough to get people to take action.

The third step is to create a sense of community. You want your readers to feel like they are part of something larger.

This could be in the form of social media groups, forums, or even just providing helpful comments on related blog posts. You want people to see you as someone that they can connect with and that they can trust.

By following these steps, you can create an email sequence that will gently nudge those that didn’t purchase upfront towards your digital product.

By providing value, creating a sense of urgency, and creating a sense of community, you can increase the chances that people will take action and buy your product.

How To Sell Your Digital Products

Now it’s time to start selling your digital products and turn your side hustle into a full-time business.

    Pick A Traffic Source

Are you trying to start a blog and gain organic traffic to your products, or will you take the shortcut and run paid ads? Regardless of your traffic source, you must be prepared to invest time and money into your marketing efforts.

There’s no one correct answer when choosing a traffic source. It depends on your products, your audience, and your budget.

If you’re starting, I recommend focusing on organic traffic, such as short-form content or SEO. Once you have a steady stream of traffic, you can experiment with paid traffic sources such as Google Ads or Facebook Ads.

The important thing is to focus on one traffic source at a time and to build up your marketing efforts slowly over time.

    Use A Digital Product Platform

A digital product platform will protect your digital files from piracy and allow you to track sales, create discount codes, and deliver your products automatically.

There are many digital product platforms to choose from, such as:

    [lasso category=”platforms-to-sell-digital-products” link_id=”77295″ type=”list”]

You also can use free software but beware of the limitations. For example, you won’t be able to track sales or offer discount codes if you use WordPress to sell your products.

    Create Evergreen Deadline Funnels

If you want to earn recurring revenue, I’d recommend investing in an evergreen marketing tool like Deadline funnels.

    [lasso id=”19732″ link_id=”77296″ ref=”go-deadline-funnel” theme=”geek”]

This will create urgency and a sense of FOMO (fear of missing out) for your products, meaning people are likelier to take action and purchase.

It’s also an excellent way to increase customer value over time as you can offer additional products through upsells and downsells in your evergreen funnel.

The Pros And Cons Of Selling Digital Products

Many businesses selling physical products are now selling digital products as well. This can become a great high-income skill.

This can be a great way to reach a larger audience and boost sales. However, you should be aware of some pros and cons of selling digital products before you make the switch.

Selling digital products requires less inventory and storage space than selling physical products. You also don’t have to worry about damaged or lost items, as customers will have access to their purchases immediately after payment.

Additionally, selling digital products allows you to reach a global market, as customers can purchase your products anywhere in the world. On the downside, selling digital products can be challenging if you don’t have your website.

You’ll need to set up a payment system and find a way to deliver the product to your customers. You’ll also need to create marketing materials and promote your product online.

Overall, selling digital products has advantages and disadvantages, but it’s worth considering if you’re looking for ways to grow your business.

Final Thoughts: How To Create And Sell Digital Products

So, you finally know to start selling digital goods, you understand that you can host these products on your own website, a platform for digital products, and you also know how important it is to have an evergreen marketing strategy in place.

This should give you a strong foundation for getting your first sales.

If you have any questions or need help getting started, try going on YouTube and looking up free content on how to create a digital product online.

My name is Eddy, and I’ve made all these mistakes as a full-time blogger.

But learning from them has been essential to my blogging journey, and I want to show you how to turn your biggest disadvantages into advantages.

Let’s explore the cons of blogging:

The Biggest Disadvantages Of Blogging And How To Overcome Them

Let me know if this is what you went through.

You watch videos from online gurus who promise the world with simple blogging tips and tell you that you can have a successful blog by not worrying about keyword research or tell you to write about your passions.

    Blogging Cons

It’s been one year since you took this advice, and you’ve got a whopping 10 monthly visitors with zero dollars in revenue to show for your efforts.

    [lasso id=”12″ link_id=”78826″ type=”table”]

What’s wrong? You’ve been lied to and sold the dream to fund their lifestyle. That all stops today, and I’ll show you how I overcame all the cons of blogging with my own blog today.

    Let’s get started.

    1. Your Visitors Leave Your Page To Fast

You spend hours writing your blog post, choosing the perfect featured image, and waiting for it to climb the search engines.

But after all that work, you only have a small chance they’ll stick around to read your entire article.

A few reasons could be your page load time and the intro of your article.

If a user clicks on your page and it takes forever to load, you have a big problem because, nowadays, people have a shorter attention span.

You need to make sure that your website loads quick. You’ll likely lose traffic if it takes longer, and other bloggers will outrank you.

    How To Fix Bounce Rate

Fix this problem using a caching plugin like WP Rocket or W3 total cache.

These WordPress plugins will save a static version of your website and load it for users instead of loading everything from scratch.

    [lasso id=”18603″ link_id=”74319″ ref=”gowprocket” theme=”cutter”]

You can also use a Content Delivery Network (CDN) like Cloudflare to ensure your website loads from different servers worldwide.

This is essential for international traffic because it will ensure they have a fast experience on your website.

I’ve noticed a huge difference in speed for my blog, and I don’t have to lose sleep knowing my site will load just fine.

    2. You Haven’t Made Any Money Blogging

You’ve been blogging away daily, yet you haven’t seen that success from making money online yet.

You start to wonder why you even started blogging in the first place and end up quitting.

How To Fix Your Zero Blog Income Problem

To turn your blog into a business, you need to start thinking about it as one. Are you just writing content without understanding the search intent?

What products or services can you sell that will help your readers?

You must start writing about keywords with monetary value and use content blocks such as product display boxes to increase clicks and conversions.

    [lasso id=”6316″ link_id=”74866″ ref=”gogetlasso” theme=”cutter”]

Look at your competitors, see how they promote their affiliate programs and try to do something similar. You can use an affiliate marketing tool like Lasso to create display boxes.

    3. You Aren’t Getting Any Traffic

Many bloggers don’t see any results because they don’t have any traffic.

Getting your content in front of people searching for it is essential to make an impact and grow a following.

How To Fix This And Get More Traffic

You want to focus on two things to drive traffic to your blog. Many bloggers make this mistake for SEO.

You need to optimize your website for SEO to rank in the search engines. And you need to write for the user and end their search journey.

    [lasso id=”17238″ link_id=”74867″ ref=”gocontentking” theme=”cutter”]

What I mean by this is you want to understand what the searcher is looking for and give them exactly that through your content. If you do this, you’ll see more traffic from Google.

Also, by answering your audience’s questions, you could potentially rank for your featured snippets on Google.

    4. Nobody Clicks On Your Affiliate Links

You have a great blog with solid content, but no one is clicking on your affiliate links, and you wonder if people are even making income through blogging.

You might be lacking in your content marketing strategy or how you present your affiliate links.

This is one of the many tips for affiliates that I offer whenever you see a dip in commissions.

    How To Fix This

You must add CTA’s, exit-intent pop-ups, and product display boxes to fix this. When you start a blog, you must map out how to monetize your affiliate links.

This is why you need to test different things.

Some bloggers succeed with CTA’s in the sidebar, while others do better with product boxes.

    5. Your Blog Design Looks Like The Matrix

Does your blog look like it was created in the 90s?

If it looks outdated and runs slow, this can make you look less authoritative in your niche and lose the trust of your readers or potential clients.

How To Fix This Without Wasting Time

There are two things you can do to fix this. You can either invest in a high-quality WordPress theme or hire a web designer to help you create a custom blog design.

The best WordPress themes will have multiple features to help you create a modern blog design without coding anything.

I use Thrive Suite, which takes away all the hard work with their setup wizard.

    [lasso id=”7357″ link_id=”74868″ ref=”thrivethemes” theme=”cutter”]

Potential customers can review Thrive Suite’s templates on their website and see if there are any custom pages they like.

    6. You Need To Update Your Content Regularly

When I started writing content, I would just hit publish and never look back. But if you want to improve the traffic to your blog, you need to keep your content up-to-date.

This means updating your blog posts with new information, adding fresh images, and ensuring your website runs smoothly.

How To Fix This And Write Fresh Content

The best way to fix this is by setting a publishing schedule and viewing what articles must be reviewed.

I then use content optimization strategies with Surfer SEO, which has become second nature. This SEO auditing tool lets you know what needs to be updated on your blog post to improve your rankings.

    [lasso id=”6211″ link_id=”74869″ ref=”gosurferseo” theme=”cutter”]

You can also use Google Analytics to see which blog posts are getting the most traffic and need to be updated.

    7. Big Media Sites Like Forbes Dominated Your Keywords

When you type your keywords into Google, do you see big sites like Forbes, Cnet, or Nerdwallet?

If you do, this can be a huge barrier to entry for ranking on the first page. Many blogs never rank on the SERPs because they only focus on these big sites.

As a blogger, you have to learn to find new and upcoming opportunities.

How To Fix This With Unique Keyword Planning

The best way to fix this is by targeting long-tail keywords or ranking for keyword variations. These are keywords that are longer and more specific.

You can use an AI SEO tool to help you with this keyword planning.

For example, if you’re trying to rank for “best camera,” you might want to target the long-tail keyword “best digital camera for vlogging.”

    [lasso id=”18737″ link_id=”74870″ ref=”golowfruits” theme=”cutter”]

You can also try to rank for different keyword variations like “cameras under $200” or “best budget cameras.”

You’ll then want to go in-depth into the article matching the user’s search intent with the correct products and services. This will allow you to still earn revenue from your blog post on the specific keyword.

    8. Blogging Is Time-Consuming

Finding the time to blog can be difficult if you are working a full-time or part-time day job. You then start to see less competitive keywords get more difficult to rank.

This is because you cannot give your blog post the attention it needs to rank on the first page of Google.

How To Fix This Even As A Full-Time Blogger

One way to fix this is by batching your blog content. This means setting aside a day or two each week to write your blog posts.

You can use an AI copywriting assistant such as Jasper.AI to help you write content that ranks.

    [lasso id=”5649″ link_id=”74871″ ref=”gojasper” theme=”cutter”]

To simplify this process, you can outsource your writing to a freelancer or article writing agency. Give them your content plan and blog post templates to follow, and they will write the articles for you.

This will free up your time to focus on other aspects of your business, like creating products or services.

    9. You Need To Build Backlinks

You need to learn about link-building or domain authority when blogging on a fresh new domain.

It is much more difficult to rank a brand-new blog post in a competitive niche.

    Side note:

This also depends on what niche you are in. You can still rank without links for easy keywords, but with link-building, you can build authority and feel safe that you won’t lose the top SERP positions.

How To Fix This By Building Relationships With Other Professional Blogging Sites

The best way to fix this is by building backlinks. A backlink is when another website links to your blog post.

The more niche-relevant backlinks you have, the higher chance your blog post will have to rank on Google.

    Big Topic:

I know this is a very sensitive topic for bloggers on Twitter and LinkedIn, but it all depends on the industry that you are in.

Here’s what I said in a recent Twitter thread about building links.

My favorite method is creating linkable assets and turning those into value-packed pillar posts. These are in-depth blog posts that are around 3,000 to 5,000 words long.

I then link these pillar posts from my other blog posts and reach out to other bloggers in my niche to link to them as well.

To boost traffic, you can also try other backlink-building methods like guest posting or broken link building.

    10. You Need To Understand SEO While Creating Quality Content

Most bloggers fail because they try to game the system by keyword-stuffing their blog posts or building low-quality links.

Google’s algorithm is getting smarter daily and can now detect these black hat SEO tactics. If you are caught using these methods, your blog post will be penalized, and you will see a drop in traffic.

    How To Fix This

Start by learning search engine optimization and fixing all of your technical issues. This includes on-page and off-page SEO techniques.

On-page SEO is optimizing your blog post for the search engines using the correct keyword density, meta tags, and header tags.

Off-page SEO builds backlinks and social signals to help your blog post rank higher. You can use a tool like Ahrefs or SEMrush to help with keyword research.

After you have fixed all of the technical aspects of your business website, start creating quality content using your experience and Surfer SEO.

Ensure you create internal links throughout your relevant content, which will help with topical authority.

    11. Stressing Over Constant Google Updates

Throughout my blogging career, I have noticed that SEOs consistently stress over Google’s algorithm updates.

They always try to determine what Google has changed and how it will affect their rankings.

This can be very stressful and make your time blogging a lot less enjoyable if you want to make money on Google.

    How To Fix This

Stop stressing over Google updates and start focusing on your audience. Write content that is helpful and informative while meeting Google’s standards.

    [lasso id=”7273″ link_id=”74872″ ref=”getbge”]

The more valuable your blog content is, the higher the chance it will have to rank. This means more income and traffic for you.

So remember to follow SOPs and craft blog templates that you can use to write your content faster.

    12. You Might Not See Traffic For Months

Blogging takes time; many people think you can make money overnight and quit your full-time job.

This isn’t true, and you must consider blogging as a business. I recommend sticking with your full-time profession until you make more money blogging part-time than your current salary.

    How To Fix This

There are a few ways to gain noticeable traffic to your site. You can purchase other successful blogs, continue building the site, or do a 301 redirect to a new domain.

This is the fastest way to grow your blog and earn money quickly, but it comes with an extra cost.

Now, the other way is what I like to call sweat equity. This is by doing everything yourself to grow a blog from scratch. You need to be patient and consistently produce quality content. You must also build authority with other businesses and get links to your site.

If you stay consistent and get traffic to your products and services, you can start bringing in that sweet passive income from blogging.

    13. You Niched Down To Deep

The blogging world is full of opportunities, yet you ended up niching down too far and are now completely capped out on blog content.

I don’t care what anyone says, but a good blog can have the ability to pivot into sub-topics and make money.

    How To Fix This

Create a content calendar with different categories and start brainstorming ideas on how to produce content for each.

You may need to research or hire a virtual assistant to do keyword research for each category. I’ve coached over 600 bloggers, and the blogs that, to the best, are always pivotable.

    14. You Only Blog With No Other Content Creation

Many other blogs focus on one thing, and that is creating blog content. This is a great way to build an audience, but you need to catch up on other types of digital marketing, such as YouTube and email marketing.

    How To Fix This

Create companion videos using Synthesia.io for your blog posts and reach a target audience on social media channels. When I combined blogging with YouTube, my blog income skyrocketed.

    YouTube & Blogging Affiliate Revenue

This is because I could tap into a new market and audience that I wasn’t reaching before.

My Experience Coaching Brand New Bloggers Who Quit

For those that don’t know, I work as a professional blogging coach on Adam Enfroy’s course, The Blog Growth Engine.

We coach and help brand-new bloggers grow and scale their blogs to full-time incomes. The course discusses the best blogging tools and how to use them to grow your online business.

Unfortunately, while our students want to become their own boss and build a website that can become more than just a personal blog, not everyone makes it.

Many newbies quit or need to take the time to learn new skills that come with being a professional blogger.

Is There Any Risk In Blogging?

Undoubtedly, blogging has become one of the most popular business ideas in recent years. But is there any risk in blogging?

Mostly, blogging is a harmless activity that can be enjoyed in your free time—however, there are some risks to be aware of if you’re thinking about making money from your blog.

    For example:

Sponsored content can be a great way to earn an income from your blog, but it’s important to disclose your relationships with the brands you’re promoting.

This also includes talking about sensitive topics that are happening around the world and health-related topics.

Failure to do so could result in accusations of deception.

Overall, blogging is relatively safe, but you should keep a few things in mind if you want to turn it into a money-making venture.

Disclosure and transparency are key if you want to avoid any potential problems down the road.

What Are The Biggest Disadvantages Of Blogging

Blogging can be a fun and rewarding career once you get the ball rolling. However, there are also some significant disadvantages that you should be aware of before you start blogging.

One of the biggest cons of blogging is that it can take time and effort to produce new content regularly.

If you’re not careful, it can easily become a full-time job. Also, you’ll need to spend money on hosting and other associated costs to keep your blog running.

Finally, it’s important to remember that only some people who read your blog will agree with your point of view.

Be prepared for some constructive criticism (and even some trolling) occasionally.

Despite these drawbacks, blogging can be a great way to connect with like-minded people and grow an online business. Just be sure to set realistic expectations and allocate the necessary time and resources upfront.

What Are The Challenges Of Blogging?

Here are a few of the biggest challenges when I see new people blogging:

    • Not having a blog content plan.
    • Thinking you can blog on a free domain host.
    • Not having an email list from day one.
    • Not promoting your blog content on social media or to your email list.
    • Not monetizing your blog from the beginning.

These are just some of the negatives of blogging that I’ve noticed that many bloggers do.

Wrapping Up The Biggest Cons Of Blogging

Now you know the risks of starting a blog. This article has helped you to understand the pros and cons of blogging.

If you’re considering starting a blog, research first and allocate the necessary time and resources.

And most importantly, remember to stay consistent and write a new post regularly. Thanks for reading.

  • Is Affiliate Marketing A Pyramid Scheme In 2024?

Is Affiliate Marketing A Pyramid Scheme In 2024?

Are you looking to start a new side hustle but wondering if affiliate marketing is a legitimate business model? If you’ve asked yourself this question: Is affiliate marketing a pyramid scheme? Here’s what you need to know.

Affiliate marketing is performance-based marketing in which a business rewards an affiliate for each new customer or sale they generate.

You can even start the affiliate model without money and grow your business bootstrapped.

So you can see why the feeling of selling someone else’s product feels strange, and it makes sense for anyone to feel that way.

My name is Eddy, and I’ve been doing affiliate marketing for a few years. I’m happy to share with you my own thoughts on this topic and the main difference between a scam and a real opportunity.

There’s a lot of debate on whether affiliate marketing is an MLM or not.

I want to clear the air and give you my two cents on the matter, so let’s answer the big question on this passive income business model.

So, Is It A Pyramid Scheme? The Short Answer.

No, affiliate marketing is not a pyramid scheme. In a pyramid scheme, participants only make money by recruiting more and more people into the scheme.

This is not the case with affiliate marketing. Affiliates make money by promoting products and services, and they only make a commission on any resulting sales.

No recruitment is involved in affiliate marketing, so it cannot be considered a pyramid scheme.

That being said, there are some similarities between the two types of programs. Both involve making money by promoting something to others.

However, the key difference is that no product or service is sold in a pyramid scheme. In affiliate marketing, there is always a product or service being promoted.

If you’re considering joining an affiliate program, research to ensure it’s legitimate.

    Is Affiliate Marketing legal?

Yes, affiliate marketing is perfectly legal. It’s a common way for companies to expand their reach and for individuals to earn money.

Some people worry that they might be violating the law if they’re not careful with promoting products or services, but as long as you’re honest and transparent about your affiliations, you’ll be fine.

You’ll also want to include an affiliate disclaimer on your blog, and that is just one of the many blogging tips I talked about.

The bottom line is that affiliate marketing is a legitimate way to make money, but it’s not a get-rich-quick scheme.

You can make money on twitter and other social media platforms with affiliate marketing.

You’ll need to put in the time and effort to build relationships and effectively promote products or services.

If you’re willing to do that, you can succeed.

The Difference between Affiliate Marketing And Pyramid Schemes

You’ve probably heard of affiliate marketing and pyramid schemes before, but what’s the difference between the two?

Both programs can be found online and promise to make you money. So, which one should you choose? Keep reading to find out.

    What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s (or company’s) products. You find a product or digital service you like, promote it to others, and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make.

When done correctly, affiliate marketing can be a great way to earn some extra income.

    How Does it Work?

Let’s say you have a blog about credit repair. You sign up for an affiliate marketing program with a company that sells credit repair services or tips. Once approved for the program, you get a unique affiliate link that you can share on your blog and start making money online.

You earn a commission if someone clicks on your affiliate link and buys something from the company. The amount of money you make depends on the product price and the commission percentage offered by the company.

Most companies also offer bonuses for achieving certain sales milestones. For example, you might earn an extra $100 bonus if you bring in $1,000 worth of sales monthly.

    What is a Pyramid Scheme?

A pyramid scheme is an illegal business model that involves promising participants payment or services for enrolling other people into the scheme.

Pyramid schemes are unsustainable because insufficient recruits support everyone as they move up the pyramid.

With these common scams, only the first person will make an income due to everyone at the bottom fighting for more sales.

This isn’t a type of marketing that I recommend to anyone or a beginner.

    What is a pyramid scheme

    So, what’s the difference?

The key difference between affiliate marketing and pyramid schemes is that an affiliate marketing business is a legitimate way to make money, while pyramid schemes are not.

It’s a high-income skill that everyone should learn.

Being an affiliate marketer, you earn a commission on sales made by people who click on your affiliate link. With pyramid schemes, you’re promised payment simply for recruiting new members into the scheme.

Another big difference between the two is pyramid schemes are typically sold as get-rich-quick schemes. At the same time, affiliate marketing takes time and a lot of effort to build a successful affiliate marketing business.

A pyramid scheme is unsustainable and not a great way to start an online business.

What Are The Similarities Between Affiliate Marketing And Pyramid Schemes?

The main similarity between these two business models is that they are both ways for people to make money.

With affiliate marketing, you are rewarded for bringing new customers to a business. With a pyramid scheme or multi-level marketing, you are rewarded for enrolling new members into the scheme.

Both are considered online marketing, but with MLMs or pyramid schemes, you need to start promoting the dream instead of the solution right away.

If you are good at promoting products or services and have a large social media following, you can start earning affiliate commissions fairly quickly.

Similarly, with MLMs (Multi Level Marketing) or pyramid schemes, you can start making money as soon as you enroll other members and have them sell products or services.

I don’t enjoy selling to my friends and trying to convince people to join a pyramid scheme.

    [lasso id=”5649″ link_id=”69709″ ref=”gojasper”]

Is Affiliate Marketing better than MLM?

There is no easy answer to this question. It depends on what you are looking for and what kind of person you are.

Affiliate marketing might be a better option if you want to be your own boss, have more control over your income, and don’t mind taking a little bit longer to start seeing results.

If you want to make money more quickly and don’t mind recruiting friends and family, MLM could be a better option.

    It depends on your preferences.

P.S: I think affiliate marketing is one of the best business models out there, and you shouldn’t have to pay to join programs to work with them.

My Reasoning That Affiliate Marketing Is Not A Pyramid Scheme

After years of trying different side hustles and even getting scammed by online business opportunities, I’ve learned that affiliate marketing is a legitimate way to start a business.

I also know that some people ruin the name of affiliate marketing and will sell you the dream. This could be through illegal activities and fake products that need to be fixed.

Here’s my recent monthly revenue sheet this year:

    PartnerStack aff rev EddyBalle

I’ve stuck through the basics and done it the right way. Here are a few things I did to make it work without faking it to the top:

    • Pick a micro niche
    • Build an actual website that works
    • Do SEO and video content
    • Start getting trickles of organic traffic on both platforms
    • Reply to all comments and grow a target audience that believes in you
    • Build relationships with real people
    • Rinse & Repeat

Don’t just focus on getting sales but on the user’s problem. Once you understand, then you know you can make affiliate marketing work.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Are Affiliate Marketers Scammers?

No, Affiliates are not scammers and only make affiliate income from direct sales. They do not make any revenue through tiered memberships.

Affiliates also have complete control of their income and what they can say and promote different affiliate networks, products, and services.

Are there any other benefits of affiliate marketing?

Yes! In addition to being your own boss and having control over your income, affiliate marketing also offers:

    • The ability to work from anywhere in the world
    • Flexible hours and gradually increased sales
    • No inventory to worry about
    • No shipping or customer service
    • Run promotions through email marketing campaigns

And much more that you can explore once you get started in this business model.

    Can You Trust Affiliate Marketing?

Unlike MLMs, you can trust affiliate marketing because it’s a sustainable business model that even Amazon offers its users.

There are many affiliate networks and companies to choose from, so you can find products and services you trust.

You can also read reviews of different affiliate programs before joining to get an idea of what other people think.

You can get a better understanding by reading my blog post on affiliate marketing tips.

Why Is Affiliate Marketing A Pyramid Scheme?

Most beginners or those scammed by a high-ticket course think that affiliate marketing is a pyramid scheme.

It is not a pyramid scheme because you’re only making money from the product or service that you’re promoting.

You’re not making money from people who join after you. Also, there’s no guarantee that you will make any money from affiliate marketing.

It takes hard work, dedication, and time to start seeing results. If you’re looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, then affiliate marketing is not for you.

Are there Affiliate Marketing Scams I Should Look Out For?

As with many business models that offer you the opportunity to make a good income, there are some things to look out for to avoid affiliate marketing scams.

    1. Promises of Easy Money

One of the most common affiliate marketing scams is promising easy money. Many scammers will claim that you can make much money quickly and with little effort by becoming an affiliate marketer.

However, affiliate marketing takes a lot of work and is not a get-rich-quick scheme. If you see an offer that promises easy money, it is likely a scam.

    2. Upfront Costs

Another common scam is charging upfront costs. Some scammers claim you need to pay for a “starter kit” or another product to become an affiliate marketer.

However, affiliate marketers should never have to pay to join an affiliate program. If you see an offer that requires upfront payment, it is likely a scam.

    3. Training Programs

Some scammers will also offer training programs that promise to teach you how to be a successful affiliate marketer.

However, these programs are often useless and do not provide the information they claim to offer.

Also, many of these programs are very expensive, so you would be wasting your hard-earned money even if they provided useful information.

Don’t let this prevent you from joining a reputable course on how to be a successful affiliate marketer. Make sure you do your homework before joining and pay close attention to the negative reviews.

    4. Guarantees

Another common scam is offering guarantees. Many scammers claim that they can guarantee your success as an affiliate marketer or that their program will make you money.

However, there are no guarantees in affiliate marketing, and any program that claims otherwise is likely a scam.

    5. Fake Testimonials

Many scammers use fake testimonials to try and sell their products or services.

They will often create fake web pages or social media accounts with only positive reviews of their products or services to trick people into thinking they are legitimate.

That’s why real businesses use video testimonials software to collect and track legitimate reviews.

How Do I Know if the Affiliate Program I Join is Legit?

If you are asking the question, “Is Affiliate marketing a pyramid scheme”? You may want to know how to tell if an affiliate marketing program is legit. Here are some tips:

    1. Check the company’s Better Business Bureau rating.

The Better Business Bureau is a nonprofit organization that rates businesses based on customer satisfaction and tries to protect consumers from scams.

    Legendary Marketer BBB

A company with a high rating with the BBB will likely have a reputable affiliate program.

    2. Read reviews of the company online.

Another way to research a company’s legitimacy is to read reviews online. If other people have had positive experiences with the company, then it’s likely that their affiliate program is also legitimate.

    3. Look for red flags on the company’s website.

Some red flags can indicate that an affiliate marketing program is not legitimate. For example, if the website promises unrealistic earnings or requires you to pay to join the program, likely, the program is not legitimate.

    4. Contact The Company Directly And Ask Questions About Its Affiliate Program.

If you’re unsure whether a company’s affiliate program is legitimate, you can always contact the company directly and ask them questions about their program.

The affiliate manager should be quick to response and provide you with all the answers to your questions.

If they’re unable to answer your questions or seem evasive, then it’s likely that their affiliate program is not legitimate.

    5. Read the terms and conditions

Once you’ve done your research and are ready to sign up for an affiliate program, read the terms and conditions carefully.

This document will outline the company’s and affiliate marketers’ rights and responsibilities, so you must understand it before agreeing.

Most affiliate programs are legitimate, but you’ll need to use your best judgment when deciding whether an affiliate is right for you. If something doesn’t feel right, it’s probably not worth your time and effort.

So, Is Affiliate Marketing A Pyramid Scheme?

No, affiliate marketing is not a pyramid scheme, and you do not have to pay for any startup costs to sell products or services online.

You can even use affiliate marketing tools to help you with this business model.

You can start affiliate marketing with just a website and social media accounts like TikTok or YouTube.

So, if you want a profitable business without selling products via network marketing, become an affiliate marketer.

High-income skills aren’t just random talents. They’re specialized knowledge that companies and clients desperately need.

These skills can command $100, $200, or even $500+ per hour because they solve real business problems.

Think of it this way: While the job market is flooded with generalists, organizations are hunting for people with specific abilities that directly impact their bottom line.

That’s where high-income skills come in.

What truly sets these skills apart? They solve complex, high-value problems that businesses struggle with daily.

They’re difficult to automate or outsource. They often combine multiple disciplines and evolve with market demands. And most importantly, they don’t require a fancy degree.

The best part? You don’t need years of expensive education to develop these skills.

With the right strategy and dedication, you can master them through online resources, practical experience, and targeted learning.

However, it’s something that I’m passionate about and working on improving with this blog and my own clients. Leveraging your SEO skills and using AI writing will help you master content creation.

I’ve made money with Google using AI tools and can now help others do the same.

There are many different unique positions when starting a sales position, and while it’s a great way to earn a six-figure salary, it does come with a lot of stress.

    Indeed Sales Job

After doing a quick Indeed search, many companies will be in a sales position over 6 figures per year. Yes, six figures is a lot for an entry-level job in sales.

You’ll need to feel comfortable hearing more no’s than yes’s, but as they say, it builds character.

You could also turn it into a career goal and run your own sales team once you’ve become a top earner for a company.

    UGC Creator skills

This type of content is powerful because it’s real and authentic. It’s also great to build trust and credibility with your audience, and that’s exactly what companies are searching for.

If you combine YouTube and blogging, you can develop amazing skills in online business.

    17. Project Management

Project management, or working as a project manager, is a high-income skill that requires data analysis, organizational skills, and management skills.

Businesses need to have someone who can manage projects effectively and efficiently.

Project managers are responsible for confirming that projects are completed on time and within budget.

They must be able to coordinate with team members and other stakeholders and manage expectations. PMs are also responsible for ensuring that projects meet or exceed customer expectations.

This is a great trade skill when applying for potential job opportunities.

    18. Software Development

A very high-income skill to learn is software development or coding. It’s a very technical skill that allows you to create and develop software applications.

Trade jobs require skills usually learned through apprenticeships or vocational training.

    20. Start Digital Marketing

Becoming a digital marketer is a great way to make more money and learn in-demand skills for other businesses.

Digital marketing can start off with very broad skills such as SEO, Google Ads, and social media marketing.

You can then specialize in one or two areas of digital marketing, such as influencer marketing, email marketing, or even content marketing.

The great thing about this field is that it’s always changing, and you can change your marketing strategy with emerging trends.

    21. Build Sales Funnels

You can also use this skill to help other businesses increase online sales and become full-time funnel builders.

    22. Create Affiliate Websites

    [lasso id=”6159″ link_id=”69392″ ref=”gowpx”]

Affiliate websites promote other people’s products and services in exchange for a commission.

So it’s very simple to set up, and businesses will look for professionals specializing in site creation.

    23. Learn SEO Auditing

If you can learn how to audit blog posts and figure out how to rank them on Google, you will have in-demand skills that businesses will be willing to pay for.

SEO auditing reviews a website’s on-page and off-page SEO factors to identify issues that could be holding the site back from ranking higher on search engines.

    [lasso id=”6211″ link_id=”69393″ ref=”gosurferseo”]

This includes title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, keyword density, and backlinks.

You can learn SEO auditing through online courses or by reading blog posts.

    24. Social Media Marketing

With social media being one of the most popular online activities, it’s no surprise that businesses are willing to pay good money for social media marketing skills.

Social media marketing involves creating and sharing content on social media platforms to promote a brand or product.

Having a strong understanding of each platform and how to create engaging content is important.

You can learn how to create a social media strategy through paid courses or by reading blog posts.

    25. Tax Filing For Businesses

You can learn how to file taxes by taking courses from TurboTax or other online marketplaces.

    Youtube University

Everyone laughs when I say to learn from YouTube University, but this means watching tutorial videos on how to do things.

I’m not joking. You can learn a lot by watching tutorial videos on YouTube.

    How to learn blogging skills

You can find videos on just about anything, from social media marketing to learning how to invest in stocks.

You must type in what you want to learn + “tutorial” into the YouTube search bar and dive deep into related topics.

    Start Freelancing

Before starting a high-demand career, you should start freelancing to get some experience.

This is a great way to start because you can work on your own time and build up a portfolio of work.

Many online platforms, such as Upwork, Fiverr, and ContraHQ, allow you to find freelance work.

You’ll be ready to start a high-demand career once you learn interpersonal skills and build a strong work ethic.

    Take Classes

You can find many classes and boot camps that will teach you high-income skills.

The downside of taking classes is that they can be expensive and time-consuming. But if you have the money and time, classes are a great way to learn.

I’ve taken many courses that totaled up to $15,000, but I’ve made that money back by using the skills I learned in those classes.

    Find A Mentor

Finding a mentor can not only speed up the process of developing skills, but it can also save you a lot of money.

    How To Blog With AI

When it comes to AI blog writing and building a blogging business, there are a few key steps you need to take:

    1. Perform keyword research to determine what people are searching for online.
    2. Create a blog post outline to help you write your blog post faster.
    3. Start writing the rough draft
    4. Edit and proofread your entire blog post before hitting publish.
    5. Perform An SEO Audit Using Artificial intelligence
    6. Promote your blog post on social media and other channels.
How To Start AI Blogging Infographic

By following these steps, you can use AI-generated content to write better and faster while still maintaining your own unique voice.

Let’s explore the specifics of creating content and how I leverage AI blog writing to increase organic traffic without sounding like a robot.

    1. Perform Keyword Research

I always start with keyword research in mind whenever I create blog posts. I use a combination of Surfer SEO and Ahrefs to find the right keywords for my blog outline.

I’ll go to the content planner within Surfer’s features and type in a seed keyword. This will spit out topic clusters picked up from Google’s algorithm.

    Surfer SEO content planner

From there, I’ll go to Ahrefs and use their keyword explorer to verify the blog topics and review competitors websites.

Doing this gives me a better idea of what people are searching for online and how I can minimize research time for myself or my content writing team.

    2. Create A Blog Post Outline

After I’ve performed keyword research, I’ll create a content brief using Surfer’s content outline feature.

This feature uses machine learning and natural language processing to help you write a blog post outline in minutes.

Blogging Faster with the content editor

I simply type in my seed keyword, hit enter, and Surfer will generate an outline for me based on what’s ranking on Google.

    Side note:

Make sure to change the headers and add your own voice, so it’s not just the AI writer doing the work.

A little editing goes a long way, and your readers will notice the impact.

You can even use this feature to hire a freelance writer since they’ll have all the information they need to write a quality blog post that ranks.

    3. Start Writing

This is where the magic happens and where you’ll want to focus most of your content marketing efforts.

I’ll start by writing a rough draft using a long-form AI writing assistant called Jasper AI. This AI tool uses GPT-3 and machine learning to HELP you write blog posts faster.

Jasper AI Vs Copy AI Comparison

It doesn’t matter where you write the blog content because Surfer and most other AI writing tools integrate with Google Docs and WordPress.

I’ll have Jasper help me with filling out my intro, conclusion, and fill-in bullet points.

    Side note:

You’ll need their boss mode plan to use the long-form content editor. Don’t worry, Jasper AI can help you create better content in no time.

This saves me hours of time, creates high-quality content, and I can still add my own voice to the blog post.

You can also use other features from Jasper to help you improve your original content using their commands feature.

    4. Edit And Proofread Your Blog Post

After I’ve written the first draft using an AI blog writer, it’s time to edit and proofread the entire blog post.

Many new bloggers make the mistake of not editing their content.

This is a must because you are still the subject matter expert at the end of the day, and nothing beats a human writer.

I’ll use a tool called Grammarly to help me with this. It’s an AI-powered editing tool to find grammatical errors, suggest style changes, and more.

    Grammarly proofreading

It’s helped me save hours of time, and most content writers I know recommend this tool for blogging.

Once I’m done with that, I’ll read the article out loud and make any final changes.

    5. Perform An SEO Audit

The next step is to perform an SEO audit, where many AI writers mess up. With this last step, you’ll likely perform well with search engines.

I’ve seen it repeatedly after I write articles and complete a proper SEO audit.

Having someone on your team or yourself perform this last check is essential. I like to use Surfer’s SEO audit feature because it’s quick and easy to use.

You’ll get automated insights once you enter the seed keyword for your audit.

    Surfer SEO Audit Tool

I insert my blog post URL and target keyword, and Surfer will analyze my on-page SEO using data points from the top ten competitors.

I do this after every published post, and I’ve seen more traffic to my website after performing this task. It’s a content marketer’s dream.

It’ll give me a list of things to improve to make the necessary changes before I start promoting and tracking this article.

    6. Promote Your Blog Posts

This is where you’ll go from a content writer to a content marketer.

We all know that promoting content is very time-consuming. You can use social media schedulers like Later or Plannthat to help you share your content on autopilot.

Having some kind of blog promotion will help you earn potential sales from your blog.

    Later Instagram Scheduler

These platforms use artificial intelligence to know the best times to schedule, create a content calendar, and help you save time.

Even companies are starting to use popular social media times like Later to manage their entire posting strategy.

Bloggers and content marketers can leverage these tools and create an omnipresence for their articles.

How Does AI Work For Bloggers?

Using AI writing tools for blogging with guidance from human writers can help you 10x your productivity.

When I started this blog, I produced 3 articles a month, and now I can write up to 15 in 30 days.

It’s all thanks to AI writing tools and my willingness to test them out and see what works best for my writing style.

But if you’re unsure how AI works or helps with blogging, here’s a quick overview.

Most AI writing tools have 3 main features that help bloggers:

What Are The Best Affiliate Marketing Tips?

Let’s get straight into the golden nuggets of this post and go over everything I have learned in the past few years doing affiliate marketing.

Here are the top affiliate marketing tips for beginners and seasoned marketers.

    1. Setup A Blog

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make when trying to become an affiliate marketer is not having their own blog or website.

Just promoting on social media platforms is enough, but that will not work.

An affiliate marketing website can help you in many ways, such as making you look like an authority in your niche and having relationships with products and services you want to work with.

This is one of the best types of marketing anyone can do, so make sure you start a blog.

I even get emails for product placement agreements with a company I constantly blog about. This is one of the best affiliate marketing strategies for promoting products online.

Private Product Placement Email For Eddy Balle

So, a blog will also help you build an audience of people interested in what you say and those searching for an answer.

This is important because you can promote affiliate products to this group and make sales.

    2. Write list posts and product reviews

These two blog post types are the bread and butter of my affiliate marketing strategy. As you start affiliate marketing and promoting products with SEO, you’ll agree with me on this.

List posts are simply blog posts containing items like “The 9+ best Link Tracker Software” or “The 42 Best Blogging Tools To Use.”

Product reviews are exactly what they sound like. Your goal in online reviews is to satisfy user searches and write in-depth product reviews.

You genuinely want to ensure that the articles presented offer valuable information to your readers, as this will make them stay on your site, come back for more, and maybe even buy something from you.

    3. Add An Exit-intent Pop-Up Form

One of my favorite methods and affiliate marketing tips for bloggers is to use exit-intent pop-ups.

This code you add to your blog triggers a pop-up when the user’s cursor is about to leave the web page.

    Pop-up form EddyBalle

This is necessary to capture the user’s attention because they were about to leave without taking action on your site.

For example, if you are doing paid advertising or generating traffic from other sources, including pop-up forms is important.

I recommend Thrive Leads or Convertbox since these affiliate tools allow you to create pop-ups and gain your visitor’s attention without annoying them.

After adding a pop-up, I’ve seen an increase in link clicks, which makes me more money for my blogging business.

    4. Add A Sidebar Banner

One of the simplest ways to get visitors to click your affiliate link is by adding a sidebar with a CTA (Call-To-Action).

A sidebar can be an effective marketing strategy if you place the best-performing affiliate program’s banner.

For example, I use a sidebar on my blog promoting Jasper.ai or my mini lead magnet course.

    Blog with sidebar Eddyballe

You want to ensure the CTA stands out and is relevant to your blog’s topic.

Again, a sidebar product placement aims to bridge the gap between your blog content and visitors so you can start bringing in sales.

    5. Add An Affiliate Disclaimer on Every Blog Post

I see many new affiliate marketers mess this up, so I wanted to include it in this post. Having an affiliate disclaimer on every blog post would be best because you don’t want to get sued for not disclosing that you’re an affiliate.

The best way to do this is by adding a simple sentence at the beginning or end of each blog post.

    For example:

“This blog post contains affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission at no cost if you purchase through my link.”

You comply with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) guidelines by adding this simple sentence and creating a separate page to a disclaimer page.

And trust me, you don’t want to be on the bad side of the Federal Trade Commission.

    6. Use Affiliate Tracking Software

You need to start tracking your link clicks if you’re earning affiliate sales but need to know where they’re coming from.

You can use free tools such as Google Analytics and Thirsty Affiliates to track your web traffic if you are on a budget.

But if you have a budget, you can use something like Affilimate or Clickmagick which are link tracker software.

    Link Tracking For Affiliates

    Affilimate Logo

    Affilimate

    15-Day Free Trial

Use this tool to know exactly what drives sales for each affiliate program you work with. Feel confident tracking your sales without a buggy or slowing down your page speed.

    Read Review

These tools tell you exactly where each sale comes from, so you can optimize your strategies and make more sales.

This helps further understand where you should place each affiliate program in certain areas of your articles, as Affilimate uses heatmaps to know the exact location of a click on-page.

This seriously makes your marketing efforts easier without working blindfolded.

    7. Write Product Alternatives

If you match the search intent correctly, writing alternatives to two or more products can lead to potential sales.

These posts are commonly searched for on Google with phrases such as “Best WordPress Alternatives” or “Best Gumroad Alternatives.”

The goal is to write an article comparing your favorite products in the same niche. You will want to add affiliate links to both products you’re promoting.

Be sure to be neutral, as the idea is to give the reader a fair comparison of all the relevant products and help them decide what they want.

    Side note:

I still earn on Google from comparing products on my own alternative posts since my target market might prefer one over the other.

So as you create great content and offer product recommendations, you can make money as an affiliate marketer.

    8. Sign Up With High Ticket Affiliate Programs

Since ranking content or creating videos is the same for every program you promote, you can generate revenue faster by signing up with high-ticket affiliate programs.

High-ticket affiliate programs pay you higher commissions for the same effort you would spend on a lower ticket item.

So all you need is a few affiliate links from a high-ticket program that can earn money monthly.

    High ticket affiliate commission proof

For example, you could get paid $500 per sale for promoting an online course that costs $1,000.

You only need two monthly sales to make $1,000 in affiliate commissions.

Most of these offers will be online marketing instead of physical products, so look for that.

    9. Sign Up With Recurring Commissions

Like any other business, affiliate marketing requires time and effort to make it work.

The best way to ensure long-term success is by signing up for programs that offer recurring commissions.

Recurring commissions are when you get paid a commission every time someone pays their monthly subscription.

    Income proof email results eddyballe

For example, if promoting a software tool costs $49/month with a 30% commission split, you will get paid $14.70 per month per person you refer as long as they stay subscribed.

    Side note:

The affiliate manager sometimes offers affiliate campaigns with bonuses for a specific month.

For example, they may offer a 40% commission instead of 30% to promote a new product launch for the first month.

This is a great way to build a passive income stream because you can earn monthly affiliate commissions without doing extra work.

    10. Supplement Your Income With Display Ads And Sponsored Placements

Even if you are doing well with an affiliate marketing program, I recommend signing up with ad networks such as MediaVine or Ezoic Premium.

This will help supplement your affiliate marketing efforts and reward you by sharing some of their ad revenue.

Your earnings will depend on the traffic you generate to your website.

But if you need examples, you can always watch Mediavine’s case studies or Ezoic Levels to get inspired.

I recommend waiting once you have at least 10,000 monthly visitors through organic search since you can earn more from the start.

    11. Make Sure Affiliate Links Are Always No-Follow

Ensure your affiliate links are no-follow so search engines don’t crawl that link and penalize you.

A no-follow link is an HTML attribute that tells search engines not to follow or crawl that specific link.

    Affiliate Link no-follow rule

You can easily add the no-follow tag with WordPress or other blogging platforms. I personally use Thrive Suite.

    12. Track Metrics Using Google Analytics

When understanding KPIs (key performance indicators), Google Analytics and Search Console Insights are the best free tools you can use.

This will help you track how much traffic comes from each referring page, what keywords they used to find your site, and how long they stayed on your affiliate site.

Search console insights eddyballe page view

I use it to understand my organic traffic and optimize for the keyword users search for, aka matching the search intent.

Once you know that, you can improve the quality of your already existing content or old content and answer the questions your target audience is looking for.

    13. Rank For Long-Tail Keywords

Have you ever visited Google and seen the same media sites or websites ranking on the first page?

This is because they are ranking for short-tail keywords for which they had to establish backlinks and authority.

Try ranking for long-tail keywords to stand out and still get a piece of the pie.

Long-tail keywords are longer, more specific phrases with low competition and are more accessible to rank, which I add to my affiliate marketing strategy for blogging.

how blogging changed my life eddyballe

For example, “best affiliate marketing programs” is challenging to rank, but “best affiliate marketing programs for credit repair” is a long-tail keyword with low competition.

It’s also something people are more likely to type into Google if they are starting based on niche-related products.

    14. Build A Strong Relationship With Affiliate Managers

If you genuinely want to become successful with seasonal affiliate marketing campaigns, you need to build a strong relationship with your affiliate managers.

Your affiliate marketing success manager is the one who will approve your application to join an affiliate marketing program, and they can also help you with content marketing ideas.

They are also the ones who will be promoting new affiliate offers and marketing campaigns to you, so it’s important to stay in touch or at least let them know about your content creation strategy.

    15. Create Product Comparison Posts

Writing comparison articles is a great way to start making money by comparing two products or services.

For example, you could write a post comparing the best landing page builders or Jasper AI vs. Copy AI.

This is a great way to start writing helpful content give you experience or understand the products you are promoting.

Comparing products also helps your readers decide which product is best for them and can help increase conversions.

Jasper AI Vs Copy AI Comparison Table

    16. Stay Updated With Trends In Your Niche

My favorite tip for newbies just starting their affiliate business is to stay updated with current trends in their niche.

Following and researching new affiliate marketing trends or trending topics, in general, will also give you ideas on what content to create and how to stand out from the competition.

The best way is to sign up for newsletters, follow blogs, or set Google alerts for your niche keywords.

    Google Trends

Another freemium way would be to use exploding topics or meetglimpse to look for trending topics in different niches.

    17. Shorten Your Affiliate Link URLs

If you’re like me, then you probably won’t click on a URL that looks like this:

    https://www.example123.com/dp/B07D4F2PYH/?tag=example123-affilate-eddy

It looks spammy, and I’m unsure what to get myself into. This is why it’s essential to use a URL shortener like Bitly or Getlasso when creating affiliate links.

This is one of my biggest affiliate marketing tips for beginners you start to promote your links online.

You can also use a WordPress plugin like Pretty Links or thirsty affiliates to manage and cloak your links easily.

    Thirstaffiliates url shortner

    18. Use Sales Funnels

Creating landing and sales pages is a great way to increase conversions by pre-selling the product or service you’re promoting.

If you don’t know how to create sales funnels, I recommend using Clickfunnels or any sales funnel software.

    Jasper AI Bonus Course Area

Creating a sales funnel can be as simple as creating a landing page and thank you page and adding your affiliate links to the pages.

    19. Build An Email List

No matter what social media platforms you gain traction on or how much traffic you get on an affiliate website, you never know when those platforms or websites will disappear.

This is why it’s essential to always focus on building an email list from your traffic sources and learn email marketing strategies.

You can do this by offering a freebie in exchange for an email address or using an email capture form on your website.

Once you have a list of emails, you can start promoting products without spending more money on other tools.

    20. Join Multiple Affiliate Networks

When starting, I always recommend focusing on one or two affiliate products to promote, but once you understand how affiliate marketing works, you can begin to join multiple affiliate networks.

    Side note:

An affiliate network is a platform where brands and affiliate marketers can connect.

Some of the best affiliate networks are:

    • Partnerstack
    • ShareAsale
    • Rakuten
    • CjAffiliate
    • Digistore24
    • Rewardful
    • Amazon associates

Joining multiple affiliate networks will give you various products to promote and also help you diversify your affiliate revenue.

The common network would be Amazon associates.

    21. Offer Bonuses

The best affiliate promotes with bonuses always win, in my opinion. This is known as a bonus stack in the affiliate marketing sphere.

No one likes feeling like they’re being sold to, but everyone loves getting a good deal.

This is why offering bonuses or an offer stack is a way to increase conversions while promoting the products you love.

For example, if you’re promoting a web hosting company, you could offer a free website template or a course on teaching them how to set up their blog.

I offer bonuses and provide my email so they can send me their proof of purchase to get the bonuses.

    Credit Hero Challenge Bonus Course

    22. Create Courses That Solves A Problem Using An Affiliate Product

A marketer dreams of having multiple income sources while solving people’s problems. Well, you can add two to that list of goals.

You can sell online courses as low-ticket items and show them how to do something with your affiliate product.

For example, if you’re promoting AI writing software, you could create a course on how to write blog posts faster and use the affiliate product as an upsell.

This would work perfectly as a sales funnel because you’ve already solved their problem of not knowing how to write quality content faster, and they see the value in the product.

    23. Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Higher Commission Rates

If you’re doing fantastic and bringing in traffic for brands and services, it’s time to use your leverage to get better commission rates.

This is why tracking your progress is essential so you can show them exactly what you’re doing and how much revenue you’re bringing in.

Once you have the data, contact the affiliate manager for a higher commission rate.

You’d be surprised how often they say yes because you’re already doing the work and generating revenue for them.

When they see that you are directly contacting and doing the work, they can get instant access to new features or insider scoop on a brand’s product before anyone else.

    24. Improve Your Existing Affiliate Content

One major affiliate marketing tip for bloggers is to take a step back and improve your existing affiliate content.

You can use an AI text generator to help you create high-quality content for your sales pages and SEO content.

You can add new images and videos or even update the text to make it more relevant. This helps you gain more traction within the search results.

This is called search engine optimization, and you can do this by performing an SEO audit

If you improve the content, you can typically see a jump in organic traffic, leading to more eyeballs for the affiliate program you’re promoting.

    25. Network With Other Affiliate Marketers

Building relationships is one of my favorite tips for brand new affiliates as it can offer many opportunities.

Start joining different communities or member-based sites related to the niche that you are in.

This can lead you to find affiliate partners or learn how a top affiliate promotes its products and services.

I’ve found much success in Facebook groups because you can get instant feedback on what’s working and what’s not.

You can also collaborate with other affiliate marketers to help each other out.

    26. Start A YouTube Channel

YouTube is a powerful platform that continues to grow every single year.

This is the perfect place to start building an audience because you can show them your face and build trust quickly.

Hence, perfect for affiliate marketers that want to create valuable content.

People buy from content creators they know, like, and trust.

The great thing about YouTube is that you don’t need fancy equipment to create a youtube video that ranks on YouTube.

You can even use tools like ChatGPT to come up with video topics and scripts.

    27. Add Affiliate Links In Your YouTube Description

An affiliate marketer should add links in their description because it’s an easy way to make money.

When people see you’re an affiliate for a product, they are likelier to click on it and buy it.

    youtube commission links

The best thing you can do is test out different products and services to see which ones convert the best.

But of course, you will want to ensure it’s related to the video so it matches the user’s search intent.

It would honestly be a waste of word count in your description box.

    28. Repurpose Everything

Creating an Omni presence is vital with affiliate marketing, and you want to ensure that everything you make can be repurposed somehow.

This means creating articles, YouTube videos, and social media posts that can all be used for each other.

For example, you can turn an article into a video or podcast episode.

Then when you make the video, you can repurpose it on any other social media channel. This can easily be done with video captioning software like Veed or Zubtitle.

    29. Create A Bridge Page

If you want to bridge the gap between your blog content and the products you promote as an affiliate, consider creating a bridge page.

This is a staple for content marketing when you want to make affiliate commissions for yourself.

These landing pages send the user to the next affiliate website or program you’re promoting.

A bridge page is essentially a way to “pre-sell” the product or service before the user clicks on the affiliate link.

The added benefit is that you are also growing your list of email subscribers and sending email sequences to those that didn’t purchase.

    30. Start A TikTok Account

Affiliate marketing on Tiktok is a great way to increase your marketing efforts. You can also make a lot of money on Tiktok as an affiliate marketer.

Since TikTok is about creating short videos, you can quickly create engaging content promoting your affiliate products.

The best thing about TikTok is that you can match trends with education and create content for your target audience.

    Side note:

Some brands will partner with you even if they don’t have an affiliate program. That’s why you see some content creators with a discount code offer for their viewers.

    31. Start An Instagram Page

Like TikTok, affiliate marketing on Instagram can become very viable, especially if you do Instagram reels.

Reels are short videos that are categorized under disruptive marketing.

So long as you stay consistent on IG, you can row a huge brand for yourself and master mobile marketing.

    AI writing hooks

    32. Add Your Referral Link To Your Instagram Stories

Did you know you can add referral links or discount codes to your Instagram stories?

You can use the sticker feature to add links to your story and have your followers click on the affiliate product.

This is a great way to get more clicks and conversions because it’s placed right in front of their face.

    Instagram Stories URL sticker link

Just make sure you are not using a direct link, but instead using a link cloaking tool.

    33. Use Pinterest Idea Pins

There was a time when doing interest was better than Google SEO, but nowadays, it’s not as easy to scale.

But with Pinterest Idea pins, you can grow your interest profile by adding short-form content.

The only problem with this is that you can’t add links to the idea pin, only the option to get followers.

    34. Create A Recommend Resources Page

You should create a page where your best-performing products are to earn affiliate income semi-passively.

This is common with bloggers because they want to send their blog traffic to other sites that will convert.

You must only put the best-converting products on this page, so you don’t lose out on any commissions or lose the trust of your raging fans.

    35. Build Internal Links

Having internal links throughout your site establishes authority and boosts your SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

But it would be best to use internal linking to support your affiliate content.

For example, if you’re writing a blog post about “How To Start A Business,” you can link to your transactional post called “Best affiliate marketing tools.”

This will help boost your conversion rates because you’re providing more value to the user.

    36. Always Disclose Your Affiliate In Your Videos

You must disclose affiliate links in your Youtube video descriptions as an affiliate partner.

The easiest way is by adding “*Affiliate Link” to the product you’re promoting in the description box.

    youtube affiliate disclaimer box

It would be best to put a disclaimer at the beginning of your video saying you’re an affiliate for the product you’re about to review.

    37. Reinvest Profits Into Ads

The sad truth is that when an affiliate earns their first commission, they cash it out and never reinvest it into their business.

As an affiliate marketer, you always need to think about how to scale your efforts.

One of the best ways to do this is by reinvesting your profits into digital ads.

This will help you reach a larger audience and increase sales with targeted global online shoppers.

    38. Reverse Engineer What’s Working (With A Twist)

If you’re having trouble finding content to create, try reverse engineering your competitor’s sites.

I love reviewing company sites and competitors’ keywords or backlinks for inspiration. The twist is that you don’t want to copy what they’re doing. You want to improve upon it.

This way, you can come out on top and be the authority in your niche.

    39. What To Do If You Still Have A Pending Affiliate Application

When you haven’t heard back from an affiliate marketing program, a smart move is to email them.

Most likely, your application is in a queue, and someone just hasn’t approved it yet. A gentle reminder email could push you to get accepted into the program.

    40. Don’t Troll Online Communities

Have you ever seen people write “valuable posts” on their Facebook page but sneakily try to get sales?

These newbie marketers are called trolls and can get annoying in the online business industry. Not only do they not get conversions, but they also get banned from most online communities.

The key to success is providing value without overtly selling to the community.

    41. Create Comparison Tables

Creating comparison tables is one of my favorite affiliate strategies because it’s versatile.

You can use them in your product comparisons, landing pages, or pages within your website.

They are helpful because they show your audience different options for products they might be interested in and can drive sales.

I love using affiliate plugins like thrive architect or Getlasso for this feature. But there are other tools you can try out as well.

    42. Add Product Display Boxes

One of the most significant pieces of affiliate marketing advice I can give you is to add product boxes to your product reviews, best-of, and how-to guides.

This can show the pros and cons of a product with a call-to-action at the end and here’s a great example of one below.

    AI Writing Tool

    Jasper AI Copywriting

    Jasper. AI

    Receive 10,000 Free Bonus Credits

I use Jasper AI (Formerly Jarvis.AI) to write all my articles and social media content. This software lets you create a post in seconds with just the push of one button!

You can see that I add affiliate links and an internal link to a review post to keep up with on-page search engine optimization.

It’s also an effective way to increase conversions without being too salesy and a great tool I use for creating boxes is thrive suite or Lasso.

    43. Use A Facebook Profile Funnel

Affiliate marketing on Facebook is very doable, and the best way to do it is with a profile funnel.

This means you create a Facebook profile for your brand/business and then use that to drive traffic to your website or landing pages.

Many affiliate marketers love this strategy because it’s free traffic.

    Eddy Ballesteros Facebook

    44. Here’s What To Do If A Product Doesn’t Have An Affiliate Program

So what happens if a business doesn’t offer an affiliate program? Here are three things you can try to do.

The first would be to encourage the product manager or head of content to start an affiliate program using software.

The second thing you can try is to secure brand deals instead of joining their affiliate network. You can also find backup affiliate partners instead of trying to work with a specific brand.

    45. Offer Private Coaching As A Bonus

Similar to bonuses, you can provide free coaching with an affiliate program.

This could be a live Q&A, a video call, or written content.

I offered this when I was promoting Credit Repair Cloud, which is a credit repair software program. This was an excellent way to keep churn rates low.

    46. Use Influencer Marketing To Attract New Visitors

Getting popular influencers in your niche to promote your affiliate products is a great way to attract new and repeat visitors.

When their followers see that they’re using and loving your products, they’ll be more likely to buy them.

So again, this is geared toward businesses selling digital products or even physical goods such as clothing brands.

    47. Combine YouTube And Blogging

So many brand new content creators argue whether they should start a YouTube channel or a blog.

The answer is you should do both. But how does that work with affiliate marketing? Well, it’s simple. You can promote your affiliate products on your blog and your YouTube channel.

This way, you can reach a larger audience and make more sales by pairing the two together.

    48. Check Your Emails

Always check your emails for a couple of reasons.

The first is to see if new companies send you messages about promoting their offers. This happens more often than you think.

The second reason is to see if any of your current referral companies have sent you new information or resources.

They might have updates on their products or changes in their commission structure.

    49. Follow Up With Social Media Followers

Trust me when I say I wish I had known about this affiliate marketing tip sooner.

You should always follow up with your social media followers and review your private message requests.

Many new followers typically ask about a product or service before purchasing, so you could quickly close the sale through direct messaging.

The best way to do this is with an automated message through a tool like ManyChat or Chatfuel.

    50. Track All Of Your Earnings

It’s important to track your online income from affiliate marketing.

You can do this manually with a spreadsheet or use a bookkeeping app like QuickBooks Online.

This will help you keep track of your spending, income, and profits to make informed decisions about your affiliate marketing business.

    51. Find low competition keywords with a transactional value

Finding low-completion keywords with high transactional value is one of the best ways to succeed in affiliate marketing.

I like to use a combination of Google search, lowfruits.io, and Ahrefs to find these keywords.

    LowFruits

Once you’ve found a few good keywords, create content around those keywords and promote your products within that content.

But even with all the tools in the online world, you need to do your research and be willing to put in the hard work.

    52. Use Brand Assets

Most referral dashboards offer brand assets, and you might as well use them to your advantage. A brand’s content will almost always convert better than yours because people trust the brands they know.

Plus, you don’t need to go through the hassle of creating your images or graphic design.

    53. Leverage Social Proof

You will significantly increase conversions if you can leverage social proof such as online reviews or video testimonials.

People want to see that others have used your product or service and loved it before purchasing.

This is why user-generated content is so important.

You can do this manually or use video testimonial software to collect testimonials for your marketing campaigns.

    54. Focus On One Business Model And A Few Affiliate Marketing Products

It’s essential not to get FOMO and stay focused to make affiliate marketing work.

Whether you see a new shiny course on a dropshipping business or a new side hustle idea, resisting the urge to jump ship is essential.

You need to focus on one business model and manage affiliate marketing campaigns to see it through before moving on to something else.

    55. Start Selling Digital Products

The easiest way to promote affiliate links is by creating a digital product that solves a solution with the product that you are affiliated with.

This makes it easy to make more money with valuable content that the user is looking for.

    56. Learn Storytelling

As an affiliate marketer, it’s important to start learning how to generate stories that sell.

You can use an AI story generator to help you develop an amazing pitch for your landing pages or blog articles.

As you start crafting compelling stories, you can use this skill in your emails, videos, and affiliate bridge pages.

    What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is where a person promotes a product or service in exchange for a commission.

If that person can generate sales or leads for the company, they will receive a percentage of the total sale.

For example, if you refer someone to purchase a pair of shoes from Amazon, you would earn a commission on that sale.

    Affiliate Marketing Job

This business model is a popular way to make money online because it requires very little upfront investment and can be done by anyone with a website or blog.

It’s also a flexible way to earn an income since you can choose which products or services to promote and how much effort you want to put into your campaigns.

How To Become The Best Affiliate Marketer

To become the best affiliate marketer, you need to create automation and put in the work to scale your business.

Use these tips to build a successful affiliate marketing business:

    •  Create A Plan & Set Goals
    • Find The Right Niche & Products
    • Build A Website Or Blog
    • Drive Traffic To Your Site
    • Convert That Traffic Into Sales or Leads
    • Follow up with your users after they’ve purchased

The critical factor in this is to be consistent and never give up. The clicks and revenue will come. I’ve always told people that affiliate marketing takes time and is one of the best one-person business models to try out.

Since you don’t need a team of customer support people or sales reps, affiliate marketing can be done all on your own.

How Much Do Beginner Affiliate Marketers Make?

After doing 800 coaching calls with other bloggers and affiliates, the average I see most newbies make is around $200-$1,000/month.

This is a great starting point after 3-6 months of work. You can reinvest that money into scaling your business to make even more money.

How Long Does It Take To See Results With Affiliate Marketing?

When I started this journey, it took most people 3-6 months, including myself, to see results.

My Personal Story As A Successful Affiliate

When I first started trying to make a living online, I spent $2,500 on a Legendary Marketer program.

Sadly, I didn’t do anything with it and felt like a failure after borrowing money from my parents to purchase it.

I was so close to giving up but decided to give it one last shot.

I started a blog, implemented some affiliate marketing strategies I learned, and finally started seeing results after three months.

    consistent commissions Eddy Balle

Today, I make over $15,000 per month through my online businesses, live on my own, couldn’t be happier.

If you’re struggling to make money online, don’t give up. It takes time and consistency to succeed, but it’s worth it in the end.

    My Final Affiliate Marketing Tip

The most important thing to remember is to stay consistent and in touch with your affiliate partners.

Results take time to happen, but if you consistently promote products daily, you will eventually see a return on your investment.

I hope you enjoyed all the affiliate marketing tips I shared today.

    Create and go eddy review

If you want to learn more about my story, click here.

Otherwise, let’s get started with this Create And Go Review!

    Who Built Create And Go?

This is always a great story to hear. Alex and Lauren created this blog after receiving success from their health and wellness website Avocadu.

They worked their butt off to get Create And Go to where it’s at, and listening to their story alone, got me to purchase their blogging resources.

    Create and go team

The Pros & Cons Of Create And Go

Their products are great but are a bit behind in today’s blogging world.

I’m not the only one that thinks this, as I’ve seen other bloggers say the same thing in their reviews for Pinterest and On-page SEO.

They used to have an amazing private Facebook group, but it’s slowly turning into a ghost town.

    What Are The Pros?

They offer a variety of blogging courses that can help you build an email marketing campaign to build a six-figure online course.

Their new SEO guy, Noah, has created a solid foundation for their students to follow, which can help you rank on Google.

Their admin team is always quick to answer questions and help you out whenever you do a question in the private community.

    What Are The Cons?

You don’t get access to a personal trainer or blogging coach like Income School, or Blog Growth Engine do.

The create and go community has slowly been declining, with many members moving on to other blogging groups.

Much of their content, such as their Pinterest course, is outdated and no longer relevant in today’s blogging world.

What Does Create And Go Teach?

Now that we know more about Create And Go let’s look at their courses.

As I mentioned, we’ll start with their beginner blogging course and work our way up to their more advanced options.

You’ll learn how to create attention-grabbing pins, use Pinterest SEO to rank higher in the search engines and create a consistent pinning strategy.

    My personal take:

    • Pinterest isn’t as lucrative unless you do Idea Pins
    • The course isn’t updated (kinda)
    • The course content is great
    • It doesn’t add value to google SEO

    3. SEO Blueprint For Bloggers

The SEO blueprint is actually one of the best courses on SEO that I’ve taken.

It’s designed to help you understand SEO basics and how to start ranking your blog posts on Google.

Here’s what you’ll learn how to do with the SEO blueprint training course:

So if you’ve ever wanted to sell your own digital products or get knowledge on blog financials, this would be the course for you.

This course rivals well against 30-day course creator, which means a lot coming from a course junkie.

    My personal take:

    • Perfect for those who want to scale into six figures
    • Scale affiliate income potential as well
    • Great for creating digital products or own products
    • Not for those who are just starting their first blog

I’m so glad I found Create and go because their pro-blogger bundle helped me get on the right road to a successful blogging business with Google.

    Create and go purchase date

I started to be active in all of the Facebook groups related to blogging and bought courses that would help me create a plan to make my first $1000 in blogging.

I’m not saying that Create and go was the only resource that got me to where I am now, but their course was a huge stepping stone in learning how to blog correctly.

Today, I’m a full-time blogger, I make money on Google, and have coached over 2,000+ students.

    Blog Growth Engine Live Q&As

My blog income has skyrocketed beyond $8,000 per month from affiliate sales alone, and I take on one-time projects for SaaS blogs.

    Create And Go Alternatives

So when you just started blogging, you’ve probably considered all your options before deciding.

Good luck on your blogging journey.

  • How to Move Out at 18: DO THIS BEFORE Living on Your Own 2024

How to Move Out at 18: DO THIS BEFORE Living on Your Own 2024

Moving out and living on your own at 18 can seem next to impossible if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Just because you’re now legally considered an adult doesn’t mean that you know how to live or save money like one (I’ve been there).

Once you take it upon yourself to be independent and move out of your parent’s house, a whole set of responsibilities comes with that decision.

How to move out at 18

And unfortunately, if you’re not equipped to handle those responsibilities calmly and maturely, you’ll live through many difficulties and hardships.

As such, your best bet would be to make a plan before moving out and saving for unexpected expenses.

So, let’s look at the most important things you must do before leaving your parents’ home, shall we?

    1. Discuss the Move With Your Parents/Guardians

The first thing you should do once you’ve decided to move out at 18 is tell your parents/guardians about your decision. That’s, of course, provided that you can trust them.

When I joined the military during high school, my parents were not the happiest, but they knew I could trust them with anything regarding my personal decisions.

If so, they’ll lend you a huge helping hand with your new journey. Not only will they offer you loads of advice, but they can also help you with moving out financially.

For instance, they may give you some things to help you get started in your new home. They may also co-sign on a lease or, at the very least, put in a good word for you.

Knowing that you have their support will make a huge difference in how smoothly your move will go.

So, explain to your parents why you want to move out at 18 and tell them how you plan to provide for and care for yourself. That way, you’ll have their blessing, and your move will be much easier.

    2. Get a Job

That’s right. Becoming an adult comes with many responsibilities, and paying your bills will be the most important one.

You can start off with side hustles or pick up a part-time job to make sure you are paying bills on time.

There’s no such thing as free money. So prepare to work hard if you want to afford your independence.

Get A Job Before Moving Out

While your first apartment can be a great place to play games and party, you still need to have a good head on your shoulders to manage it properly and stop yourself from going into debt.

So you can easily make money online or choose a regular career.

As such, you need a source of income that’ll help you cover your bills, whether a part-time or full-time job.

Now, finding a job at 18 can seem pretty daunting, and I won’t lie, it’s not easy. However, it is possible if you know where to look.

Don’t aim for jobs requiring a bachelor’s degree cause you’ll only end up disappointed. Instead, look for decent-paying jobs that will cover your basic living expenses.

Now, if you’ve got the time to spare, try to earn extra money by getting a side hustle.

For example, you can be a food delivery driver or blogger or even create video content for other companies.

Even blogging improved my life, and it’s now become a career I love.

    My experience:

I’ve been working as a content creator for a few years now and it has allowed me to work online full-time.

If you have it in you, you can try your hand at tutoring or babysitting. Dog walking is another great option if you’re an animal lover.

When I first started, my friend and I built a credit repair business that allowed us to earn more money than our office jobs.

Just see what jobs you can find that’ll allow you to save enough money for a rainy day and still not interfere with your studies or main job too much.

The extra money will be a huge help down the road, so if you can, don’t hesitate to get a part-time job in your spare time.

This will make or break the difference between living paycheck-to-paycheck and having a healthy savings account.

    3. Open a Bank Account

Another thing you should do as soon as you move out is to open a bank account.

Not only will your account be used to receive your paycheck, but you can also use it to pay your bills, rent, and hidden expenses via checks or a debit card.

    Get A Bank Account

Most importantly, your bank account will be a safe place to store all your savings.

Also, if you ever find yourself in a situation where you need considerable financial help, then your bank will be your savior.

So, make sure to choose a good bank and make the most of what it has to offer.

And if you’ve already got a bank account, remember to change your address once you move.

    4. Establish And Build Your Credit

A big part of moving out at 18 depends on building your credit. For young adults living independently, having a good credit score will help them with many things.

For instance, a good credit score will show a potential landlord that you’ll be a good renter who pays his rent on time.

A good credit history will allow you to get approved for a credit card with better rates.

Build Credit Before Moving Out at 18

As such, you need to know what affects your credit score to stay in the safe zone.

So, here are a few things that you need to keep your eyes on in regards to your credit score.

    Paying Your Bills on Time

This accounts for about 35% of your credit score.

If you ever pay your bills past their time or go into credit card debt, your credit score will take a turn for the worse.

    Maintaining a Low Credit Balance

One thing that’ll help your credit score grow fast is not using more than 30% of your available credit.

It’ll also show your landlord that you’re responsible for your money and have a good head on your shoulders regarding your expenses.

    Having a Good Credit History

Your overall credit history and how long you’ve had your accounts also play a big part in your credit score. However, since you’re just barely 18, you won’t be able to depend on this factor.

    So, what should you do?

Well, the best thing you can do is open a secured credit card or a credit-building loan as early as possible. This is the easiest way you can start building your credit at 18.

To obtain such a card, you’ll need to pay a deposit first, so, generally, the more money you put in, the higher your credit limit will be.

If you don’t want the whole secured-credit-cards thing, you can become the authorized user on a credit card whose original owner had a good credit history, such as one of your parents.

This allows you to build your credit faster, as you’ll be using the original owner’s credit as a stepping stone.

    5. Find Your Own Place

If you’re moving out, that means you’ll need to find a place you call your own. The main problem you’ll encounter when moving out at 18 is having money for the security deposit.

As you probably know, most, if not all, landlords require you to pay a security deposit before moving in as a sort of insurance for the apartment.

Generally, the security deposit can equal one month’s rent, sometimes two, or the landlord can set a flat fee.

I’ve been lucky enough to find a place of my own as a man and take care of my family, which means everything to me.

So, unless you’ve saved up a bit before deciding to move, you’ll find yourself out of options pretty fast.

Search for a home before moving out

But, still, I’m not saying you can’t move out unless you’ve got a lot of money. There are ways you can make your living in a new place more feasible.

For instance, you can live with a roommate, splitting your bills, rent, and other shared monthly expenses.

You can also look for housing meant for low-income residents, necessitating you make below a certain figure to qualify for living there.

And finally, if you’re going to college, apply for any grants or scholarships the school offers.

Even if it doesn’t provide accommodation like dorm rooms, you can still use the grant money to save and pay for your own living space. So, it’s a win-win situation either way.

    6. Make a Monthly Budget

A big part of adulthood involves making plans and budgets yourself. If you can’t properly budget yourself and spend more than you earn, you’ll be in trouble as time goes on.

As such, you must make a list of every bill you have to pay, stating how much you’ll be paying and when you’ll be paying it.

Not only will this help you stay on top of your bills, but you’ll also better grasp where you spend most of your money and where you can cut back a bit.

    Budgeting at 18

Now, of course, certain bills are fixed, such as your rent or your car insurance.

However, other expenses, like transportation, food, clothing, and entertainment, can be greatly reduced if you care how much you spend.

The same applies to your cell phone, internet, water, and electricity bills.

As unfortunate as it is, now that you’re an adult, all these bills will be under your name, so be responsible for your spending and try to save money whenever you can.

Look for affordable options and set a realistic budget to which you can stick.

    7. Set Up an Emergency Fund

Money-wise, everyone goes through a rough patch at some point, and if you’re not well prepared, you’ll find yourself flat on your back in no time.

As such, you need to be relatively prepared to cover any unexpected expenses that may come your way, and that’s easily achievable by setting up an emergency fund.

Whether your car breaks down or you end up in an accident, an emergency fund will get you through the worst.

Even if you get laid off, that fund will push you along until you get back on your feet.

    Set up an emergency fund

But how much exactly should you put aside?

Well, having 3-6 months’ worth of expenses is best to be safe. For example, your monthly living expenses amount to $1500.

You’ll need to save anywhere from $ 4,500 to $ 9,000 to have a proper emergency fund.

I know this seems like a lot, but trust me, this is the least you should have if you live alone.

So, save early, preferably a few months before moving out, to ensure you’re standing on solid ground.

    8. Arrange for Solid Transportation

As lovely as it sounds to cruise to your college or new job in your own car, sometimes, this is not the best option. Why? Well, cars are expensive.

I’m not just talking about the price of getting a car. You still have to get car insurance, pay for parking, gas, maintenance, fines, the whole shebang.

So, unless your financial situation is stable enough to afford to own a car, it’s best to look for other means of transportation.

Get a bus pass or carpool with a friend. And if your job or school isn’t too far from your home, then a bicycle would be a great alternative, giving you that much-needed exercise.

Just secure a reliable method of transport that’ll get you where you need to be, or else you’ll constantly be late to your job or school, and god knows how that can impact your life.

    9. Figure Out Moving Costs

Unfortunately, moving from your family home can get pretty expensive.

Well, let’s say you’re relocating to a new city. First, you must pay for your transportation, be it a plane, train, or bus ticket.

Next, you may need to hire one of the local moving companies to move your possessions, which isn’t easy on the wallet.

But, say you don’t have that many possessions, and you can carry them yourself or ask your friends to help you.

You’ll find that you still have to pay quite a bit to furnish your new apartment and buy essential items and other necessities.

Accordingly, you’ll find that the most expensive part of moving out is the actual move itself.

So, try to save as much money as possible before you move out and look for ways to make the process cheaper.

Borrow your friend’s pickup truck or get your family to help. Most importantly, keep your moving date flexible so that you can find cheap tickets to your destination.

So, Should You Move Out After High School?

Moving out at 18 can be overwhelming if you scramble in the dark.

However, if you plan the process out from A to Z, then living on your own will be no big deal.

So, discuss the move with your parents and get their advice. Also, start looking for housing and potential jobs as soon as possible.

However, the most important thing you must do once you move out is to budget yourself and keep a good credit score.

The other things you can figure out as time goes on. So, start your preparations now, and good luck on your journey to independence!
